I was about 40 days old! 😄 I can only imagine how my parents were feeling (their first child), maybe while watching this show! Even though I was too young to remember this still reminds me of my childhood.
Interesting how the contestants switched from stick mics to lapel mics in the second round and then back. I gather that was because the producers didn't want those lav cables being torn up with all the excited jumping around. But they went with the lavs during "Bid-A-Note" because they picked up more subtleties in the contestants' voices.
This actually is July 1978, Jeanne has her appearances on her channel and it says July 1978, she also has her 1984 appearance with Jim Lange on her channel also.
In this episode, Wednesday, July 12, 1978 was the tape date. When this show was taped, it was the third complete week of six of summer school for the non-SLDC version & school lunch menu courtesy of the Glendora Unified School District: Crushed Ground Beef and Gravy, Whipped Potatoes, Vegetable Dippers w/Peanut Butter, Hot Roll w/Butter, Orange Pieces. Vegetable Dippers are Celery Sticks.

Regis and Meredith Baxter-Birney ;) The way he counts the money is such an audience pleaser. Really never knew that Ray Bolger had done commercials (that's the Scarecrow from Oz talking about Scotch Buy).
george master and Jeanne was on that one too, the first two weeks of that version featuring 14 $100,000 winners from the Tom Kennedy era. Jeanne was one of the 14.
I'm surprised at the comments by folks thinking that it was Conrad Bain in the Safeway commercial. He looks NOTHING like Ray Bolger! Not to mention that Bain was only about 55 at the time, & Bolger was 76.

I remember this show when it aired on WKYT in Lexington every Tuesday night at 7:30 (the night before The Nighttime Price is Right and the night after Pop Goes the Country) and on WHAS in Louisville every Thursday night at 7:30 (opposite Let’s Make a Deal on WLKY).
Man i was just a lil one back then. I wish i could time travel back to these days. I miss my family. 😔

Classic 70's Game Show,it's been around for 3 generations and has left a huge legacy behind.
RIP Tom Kennedy.
This aired about a week before my 7th birthday. I bet I didn't know these songs back then, but now I'm killing it! 🙂
Fun fact Jeanne Antrim is one of my brother teachers
The San Fernando Valley vs. The San Joaquin Valley!! Let's get it on!!
This was taped at Metro Media. The sweetening audience tracks from shows like: The Cross Wits and the Jack Nars version of: Concentration.

The $1000 song, I would’ve got it now. I would’ve had no idea had this ran in the 90’s.

3:48 - heh, Regis Philbin in 1978,
The disco dancers just sort of hovering above are what really make this.
27:17 That's some VERY energetic disco dancing, lol.

The ever-present "Laia Ladaia" (Pat Williams) as the theme from the Saturday Night Movie.

Greg Palmer In all fairness, that episode was posted here way before this one.

Stocking clerk.
"You're a grocery clerk, huh? We'll 'check you out' during the show." Good pun, Tom!
They should've put another double in the car's place whenever it was won.
Or even better...a TRIPLE (meaning up to $3,000)!!!
Tom's wrong about "Rhythm of the Rain," it was The Cascades.
Thank you

"My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean." Jeanne could have guessed it if the pianist had played the correct rhythm!
For real. It bugged me

Who is the announcer
John Harlan, that’s who!
2:24; Can't get any bigger than that.
The intro to this show was just terrible. The black chick singing? Really? The dancers? Jesus Christ! TERRIBLE!
