I've always thought this version of NTT was the most fun! The 1984 version was ok, but the 1970's NTT episodes were much flashier and people seemed to have a lot more fun.
Wow! This is amazing, thanks so much for posting. Not only do you get a $100k winner, but you get an extended closing theme! Great job and thanks again for posting.
Thank you so much SamTurner for posting this video, as it features my brother Tom as one of the contestants! This was his 3rd appearance on the show. Do you know where I might be able to locate the other 2 broadcasts?
Yes, the $500 and $1,000 bill both were discontinued in 1969; roughly a decade before this show aired. However, they were still in circulation, as they were (and still are) legal tender. I’ll admit that the only time I would see either is on game shows such as this and primarily on Let’s Make a Deal in the 70s and 80s.
@catnapped In fact, during one of the 1979 eps on YT where a car was won, you can actually see someone moving the outer wheel from behind, then removing the "CAR" space!
Interestingly, "Bluesette" was played in both this episode and that 1984 Super Final. Eric guessed it in this episode, but was too slow to the buzzer in that Super Final.

Thank you so much! I'm a fan of Kennedy Tune, so this was a fun episode for me too!
@@samturner64 It's too bad that this version can't be shown on Buzzr due to musical clearances😩

RIP Tom Kennedy.
An all time classic.
That's one of Minnie's catchphrases @ 19:04!!!!!!!!!
Damn, that had to have been the most dominating Bid-a-Note I've ever seen. That was basically a perfect round!
It did happen years later with Jane K. Hosting where both contestants got all correct answers from 1 note from bid-a-note
Never feel guilty about posting NTT!

This show was aired on Los Angeles TV Station KABC-TV Channel 7 on Tuesday, May 13, 1980 (first-run); Tuesday, September 9, 1980 (reruns).
And on KTRK - ABC Channel 13 in Houston, TX, Wednesdays at 18:30.
The winner got his final cheque in January 1988.

What happens if the car comes up every spin?
If the car is won, it's won just the one time. It's not available in that round anymore.

Eric lost in the super tournament of champions in 1984 in the championship match to Elena.
And Eric lost on Jeopardy in 2019 with a Final Jeopardy pertaining to 70s rock albums, saying Rumours when the clue referred to Hotel California.
Interestingly, "Bluesette" was played in both this episode and that 1984 Super Final. Eric guessed it in this episode, but was too slow to the buzzer in that Super Final.
I thought the regular non-tournament episodes were always man vs. woman.
Damn, they gave away a lot of money in Melody Roulette alone!
