5:20: Oh boy, Panzeraufklärer. For those wondering why a "recon" battalion is rolling with all these tanks? The whole idea is to recon the enemy main body by straight up overrunning *their* recon and screening elements and then to keep pushing until you identify the enemy main force by way of running into resistance strong enough to stop you. These were some of the most aggressive units in the Bundeswehr.
Also in the Bundeswehr then (and now) there are two kinds of recce work a Tank battalion can do: Recce by foot (usually through the recce infantry in the 1st Company) or tank recce. Which is exactly as it sounds...a Panzerzug just goes and does recce stuff. Panzeraufklärer really are the more specialized battalions who trained for that specifically. Meanwhile every tank battalion has the ability to do it themselfes aswell with Tank recce missions. Every German Tanker learns that today aswell
Eugen kind of messed up the concept here by pretending that their Leo 1's didn't use or have access to subcaliber 105mm ammunition. (Subcaliber being "dart" or sabot munition). I get that they need balance in their multiplayer, but both the US and the FRG were producing a lot of 105mm sabot by this point.
I know it's a feature of these Eugen games, but mentioning that your units are persistent between tactical battles is probably worth mentioning as it makes losses more meaningful, but also means that tanks which level up via battle remain upvetted for the remainder of the campaign.
The Armored Cavalry uses some unique terms for unit ID. A AC Regiment is the equivalent of an armored division, but with even less infantry. The battalion equivalent is Squadrons, like the Third Squadron, 11th ACR that you are using here. And lastly, the company equivalent is the Troop. You used them almost exactly as doctrine would have called for in the last battle, by the way.
An AC Regiment is absolutely not the equivalent of an armored division. It is still regimental in size, the only difference is that battalions are called squadrons.
@Icekiller7 I know, but the differences are too nuanced for most civilians/gamers to care. So I dumbed it down for ease of consumption. Anyone that has actually served in an Armored Cavalry Regiment knows this.
@@trevynlane8094 HHT instead of HHC, Squadrons instead of Battalions, and Troops instead of Companies isn't too nuanced. You're basically calling them stupid.
Having now had a chance to play the new mode myself, I can confirm you should be using the Pzr.Grenadiers more. The extra flank security and sneaky ATGMs are _very_ helpful.
Really exciterd to see existing multiplayer maps being changed around as far as control zones and deployment areas. Should make the battles feel far less repetittive.
I love the idea of these kinds of games and really want to play but i suck at micro management so it would be so hard aha At least i get to watch your videos!
Well you can just give control of alot of it to the ai. Its far from perfect but in warno it's functional. So just take part of the force that you enjoy and leave the rest to the ai
I also struggle with the micro, but after watching vulcan for years I went back to play some Wargame and found that I'm better than I thought I'd be. Still pretty bad overall but I can hold my own in multiplayer now which I couldn't before. I lose a lot of units but I generally still go postive or even now which I find amazing.
I like how good you are at making a entertaining tutorial.. I never learned the ST2 campaign, but realy look forward to getting into this, then I have a running start at ST2 later. Guess it's similar enough
What would be nice is to see after the attack damage on the enemy battalions in the strategic map, that would show real damage done and would give a picture of how weaken the enemy is from all those kills.
The Name prefix of "Bad" in a German town denotes it as a "Kurort" (spa city/village) which a City can get if it has some required facilities, air and water quality aswell. Its a town specifically you go to when you are in need of a Kur because of an injury, work stress, rehabilitation. Bad is translated to bath (as a Kurort also has to have a public spa/bath with things like a "Therme" (public bath with mineral pools, Sauna, steam"sauna" etc. Its for people to chill and rehabilitate.
when on the campaign map how do you see your/enemy transport cards. For example I click on a pioneer card, it says its being transported by MT-LB, but I want to see the MT-LB's stat card too.
Great vid a absolute stomp and then the sexy tank lines. Good stuff, only thing why no rocket artillery, like ya you made objectively the right choice….. but rocket artillery is best artillery and no one can change my mind :p
What a massacre. I hope AI still have something in his sleeve. I suppose only way to make campaign challenging at that point is to give player vastly inferior units, like M48-tier tanks and most basic infantry and then watch him try to overcome everything from T55s to T90s.
There werent T90s in 1989 lol. T90s are a purely Russia thing and they were developed Post-Soviet collapse. T-80s were and are the best the Soviets built interms of tanks. Which they have in Warno as their best MBTs.
@@VulcanHDGaming Nice, do we know if people will be able to make custom senarios? Cause that could make competitive team play become very very interesting.
i know this video is a little old now and it doesnt matter to you now, but i think you shouldve used some counter battery arty, especially in the last video. In the last video you lost 10 tanks, at least 5 of those were to or because of Grads
Question about selling transports: is the attrition mechanic the same as WGRD, where if you loose the transport, you lose the paired unit for the next rounds of the campaign? If so, it might be wise to keep transports out of harm’s way.
Are the lost Abrahams from the previous battle resupplied immediatly? Or are they gone from your deck for the rest of the campaign? ..also it's strange to see your hometown on this map. Luckily we never had a attack throught he Fulda Gap.
Assuming there following the same rule set as the prev eugene games any lost unit is permanently lost. And the "Suprise attack" premise that most european theater focused cold war RTS games are highly questionable heck somebody just looks at another funny would quickly be known by the other side

Are you excited for Army General? Will be available this Tuesday!
As a single player goblin, I am more than ready
Yeah, It'll be awesome to see you cover them as well!
Yes, more of Warno please
I bought the game at launch to play single player, so yeah... Episode one made me re-install Red Dragon for some practice
Fuck yeah
army tankers smiling watching their exact doctrine being utilized in the second battle. Great vids as usual

That has the same energy of "it's still a stealth mission if they're all dead and can't raise the alarm."
@@damoclesecoe7184 The whole doctrinal concept was/is literally called Aufklärung durch Kampf - Reconnaisance by Combat.

Hey Vulcan, I think it would be great for you to show us the total casualties at the beginning of each episode.
