LOL. Though, to give an explanation. "Bad" is german for "bath" and it's sort of an official title given to towns that have or had a minderal water/medical spa.
@@magni5648 I know. Still, cross-language wordplay is funny ;) . Btw, reading one language's words in another language causes such wordplays quite often!
I love to see the AI and level design doing stuff like that! Watching a glass cannon in it's element is one of the things I love about War-no/game. Actually made me mutter "clever girl" when I saw it start firing!
maybe AI misrecognized the plane - wrong tag or something - and considered it a combat or recon unit?... Throwing unarmed (I think?) command helicopter straight at enemy forces, with no other friendlies in sight, seems strange even for AI :)
I think the AI was stuck in a loop: it probably always brings in command when it had none on the map, so it spent all its reinforcement points on command that got immediately killed and couldn't afford to bring anything else in.
It is so pleasant to watch your calm composure during the game play! Despite the difficulty, you are still logical in deploying your units and responding to the AI attacks. Was watching another warno gameplay on youtube by another youtuber, I felt so stressed as the player was swearing at the AI for the entire game ;'D
31:52 Yea you already knew, but sprinting up the middle in your attack really hurt when they snuck around your flank. Gotta give it to Eugen, the AI does seem a little more competent at probing for weaknesses and exploiting them if you don't cover off. 53:25 Nevermind.. watching the AI battlegroup feed Mi-9 Commands into an active turkey shoot does not convince me about the better AI. XD
I enjoyed all the wargame predecessors (though they do show their age at this point. No unit selling and no pre-battle move orders really annoyed me.) but was hesitant to buy this one as it lacked the single player portion. I just enjoy RTS games more in single player than in multiplayer. With the first campaign now out I am certainly going to pick it up. Hopefully there will be more campaigns in the future.
I might add that no doubt more campaigns will come out, the true value and fun of Wargame series (and WARNO as well) comes out of multiplayer. If you want to focus on SP more, I might recommend getting Regiments.
Currently running the campaign as Pact. The ai was smart enough to not trap the (yet untouched) 3-11th in Alsfeld, and moved it to the (your) right of the map to more open terrain. Thought that was pretty clever, even though Alsfeld will probably fall since it's just the territorials for now.
The subselection shortcuts can be changed in the options, you have tab to go from one group of unit to another and ctrl + tab to go from one unit to the next even in multi selection.
That last battle was extremely painful to watch in terms of AI behavior :D Just spamming leaders to their deaths, Eugen should really look into this ....
I'd like if you'd spend time looking at the enemy composition on it pawns before and after battles, getting a sense of what the enemy could field and the damage done to it.
I straight up attacked just the heli group and once they ran out of recon and leader helis they stopped deploying anything never sent one attack chopper at me dont know why
That last fight was really painful to watch, what with how the AI just fed you all of its command vehicles. The AI really needs to learn common sense. It was just going "well that point isn't mine and I can't see any enemies there, so let's send a command unit to cap it" but I mean honestly, maybe that was because its units were all dead, it's not that big a leap to make.
Honestly kind of dumb that the AI lets you pick them off one by one instead of trying to fight back, even if they are unlikely to win. That strategy of having the AI back out if they think they will lose only looks good on paper. Total War Attila/Rome II fell into the same trap early on making the AI way way way less likely to win or pose a challenge or anything by having them leave units to die and run from fights.
I am very new to Warno, and I think that your commentaries are really good, your knowledge and explanations of the units, their capabilities and flaws, as well as the possible strategies being employed make things much clearer for me. I assume that what you call a "follow order" constrains faster units to the speed of slower ones ? That being the case, then; How does one make such an order? Does this work with Inf, and tanks? >
Thanks for the compliments! Follow order works by selecting one unit and simply right clicking the unit you want it to follow. You can also use other types of orders like fast move or quick hunt to follow but that's the basics of it. They will just stay a certain distance behind the lead unit, the first unit determining the speed.
How long did it take for you to become this good at these sorts of games. Consithering buying warno but don't know if I will have the strength to get good at it.
What I did to improve is play 1v1s on deathrow against AI and gradually increase the difficulty until I could consistently beat the hardest AI. Do the same thing for other maps. Ultimately my battle doctrine for warno is Stabilize, Accumulate, Push. This can be applied to any situation, Attacking or Defending.
Hey Vulcan. I'm wondering what your specs are, as I'm looking at getting a PC, and want to get into Warno. Love the vids. Keep it up, I can't wait for more.
@@stank8460Ideally I want specs that can run most games at 4k 60fps, my budget is about 1.2k, I've looked at some pre builds that have good specs, but I've hears pre builds can be a bit hit and miss.
@removed7331 At 4k it will do just fine. You just need to lower graphics from ultra down to high due to the higher resolution. You will definitely get more than 60fps on most games so hopefully you have a monitory with a higher refresh rate. Otherwise, you will be getting a lot of screen tearing.
I played for the Reds. An absolutely crude uninteresting campaign. T 55 in storm against Abrams and leopards ))). There are no promised Russian tank brigades on the third day of the war. It is impossible to capture enemy airports, equipment simply does not get there, although the passage is open. Extremely monotonous gameplay and the campaign itself. How could this miserable campaign be done for a whole year?
Whenever your faction has control over Bad Hersfeld it should be displayed as "Good Hersfeld" on the map
Thank-you for coming to my TED talk

The amount of flanking the AI did had me stressed. Good defense!
Did the change the AI in this patch or is it just for Army General?
I didn't think the AI was capable of doing all those flanks.
god that one Konkurs really cleaned up, that was brutal to watch
My poor artillery haha!
The little Konkurs that could

this gamemode is extremelly addictive. I hope them Eugen frenchies get these campaigns pumping. Maybe even a sandbox?
I believe they have many more in the works, as for sandbox, it's a possibility, would be useful for testing units and strategies.
Binging your campaigns of steel division got me into your content. Please keep campaign vids coming!
Awesome to hear! Next episode will be on Sunday!

I don’t know if the Helo unit is bugged but in my game they only brought in command choppers. The entire battle and it was just the helo battalion.
Vulcan READS MY MIND as he deploys LEOPARD 2s to blunt the Soviet offensive
wish defense was done like steel div, having a meeting engagement for each battle is tough

They did not bring in any of the other helicopters because their gunships cost 5 points each and their income was only 4 points per tick
That would make sense but also needs fixing haha!

It seems odd that the artifical intelligence would let Herolfisfeld be attacked whilst they are bashing against Alsfeld.

Death row on that configuration isn't the best for the Leopard 2, should've just autoresolved and use them manually on another open map battle.
Why not bring Arty support?
