I don’t normally shower on the road. If I need a shower I’ll go to find a planet fitness or recreational center. If I really need a shower on the road I’ll use the waterport
Hi Tim, you mention that your 4Runner is the TRD Off Road Premium… Did you swap out the front grill logo for the retro “TOYOTA” grill? If so, just curious what that runs ($) & does it still accommodate the front camera & sensors? Thanks.
I actually bought the 4runner like this. The previous owner most likely converted a lot of the parts to look like a trd pro. As far as I know the grill swap does not affect any sensors
I just bought myself a 4Runner a few weeks ago. This video was super inspirational. I’m going to take after a lot of what you did, and add some of my own to it. You have a new subscriber!
@@joelito8 I got the ceramic coating from the dealership when I bought the 4runner. Not sure how I feel about it since I drive through narrow forest roads and the branches will scratch your car whether you have protection or not. I think it'll reduce the amount of scratches though

I love the build man! If you have any more info on your experience living out of it for a few months id like to hear about that. The pros and cons and things you want to change.
Thanks! I'm actually going to be traveling and living out of my 4runner again starting next month so there will be plenty to go over. Pros: I get to see a lot of sunrises/sunsets Cons: finding somewhere safe to sleep at night
@@whoiskyran1446 Right now weekend warrior rig but in August will be living out the 4runner and seeing how it goes. Still testing out the essentials at the moment
Great video bro. I feel like you have a great platform. One question. What’s that little heater I saw inside the 4Runner and do you use it while sleeping inside of the truck?
Thanks! It was a Mr. Heater. I don't use it while sleeping inside only inside the tent. I recently bought a diesel heater so I won't be using the Mr. Heater much longer.
@@TimKeh Oh spoiler alert. I am looking at getting a ram mount and then bolting a bamboo table on top of it. I'll do an update on my build a little later in the year.
Great video, Tim. Looking to begin a very similar build. Do you know the total height - ground to top of BDV? (and I believe you mentioned your 4R has a 3" lift?) thx!
So 33inch all-terrain tires + lift kit + prinsu rack + BDV = Approximately 6ft 10 inches (82inch). No wind noise from the BDV at all. Not even when I'm off-roading
Thank you! I have a 2020 and you gave me some good ideas. No links to your products? Also, curious, I thought I caught a glimpse of some sort of a heater that you had in your rooftop tent. Did I and what was it? Thank you!
Sorry about that. I wanted to build a list on my site first instead of directly in the description. Looks messy like that in my opinion. Here's a link to all the gear mentioned in the video. tmt.photos/4runner-build You did! The heater I was using was a Mr. Heater 3800-BTU. I'd recommend the bigger one though. The one I had was $66 and it falls a lot in the tent. There's a bigger one for $7 more and is more stable. Here's a link amzn.to/47uNVcB
Nicely done. You will love those tires. I have had them on my 80 series Land Cruiser for more than 5 years and they are still in good shape. Great for snow here in Minnesota. Is that pad Thai you were making?
@@HungNguyen-jq2lx I wish I could say lol I had a local shop do the installation for me. I've been meaning to get a dual battery setup and would be going back to them for that install so I can ask what they normally do to 4runner with kdss + high lifts

Really cool setup, this is like a very realistic build for most people. Looks clean and doesn't look like you're carrying a million pounds of gear.

This is perfect! No overkill unnecessary mods. Love it!
Thanks! Don't want to go too crazy with gear lol some days it's hard to resist lol

How is the wind noise at speed with the iKamper?
I didn’t notice anything different

Stiff but I prefer it to be that way with all the weight I added lol
