Hi, I will try to write the pattern. Sorry if I made any mistakes, this is my first time writing any pattern lol. Recommended to size up to the next hook for the foundation chain, then use the recommended hook size for subsequent rows. US terms used Starting chain: (Make in multiples of 12. For me with hips 38’, I made 144ch using weight 4 year and 4.5mm hook. Could have gotten away with 132ch.), sl into 1st ch (making sure you don’t twist the chain while making the sl. You can check it by running your finger around the entire chain.) R2: ch1, 2sc, [2hdc, 2dc, tr, 2dc, 2hdc, 3sc]. On last repetition, only 1sc instead of 3sc. Sl into the first sc R3: sl into next sc. Ch2. Edc into same sc. Total [6 edc. Ch1, edc into same stitch. Total 6 edc. Sk.] Repeat. At end, sl into 1st edc (Note, the ch2 does not count as a edc!) R4: sl. Ch2. Edc into same edc space. Total [6edc. Ch1, edc into same stitch. Total 6edc. Sk.] Repeat. Sl into 1st sc R5: Sl. ch2. [7edc (5edc+2edc in ch1 space). Ch1, 2edc into same stitch. Total 7edc. Sk.] Increase as preferred Last row: Sl all stitches to complete, with hook a size up For the elastic: Make sc all in each stitch, all around the elastic. To avoid elastic moving around, recommended to use two hooks, one to pull out the yarn to the top, the other to create the actual sc. Btw creator recommends not to pull the elastic before sewing together, however I did just that because elastic tends to loosen over time, and I wanted the skirt to be higher on my waist while still being able to fit over my hips. Don’t stretch it too much though, because that gives the skirt a bit of a bunched look. I’d also suggest using an elastic with similar colour (white for light colours and black for dark colours) to the yarn you’re working with at the elastic area, because the sc is not going to completely cover the elastic below. Personally I didn’t have colour change yarn, so I made the skirt while changing colours every 5 rows of edc. It was very cute but very time consuming!
WHAT I LEARNED FROM DOING THIS: The length of the starting chain must be LARGER than your waist measure, namely your HIP MEASURE! Because you later want to be able to pull the skirt over your hips and tighten in the waist (with the help of the elastic waist band actually doing some job!). Otherwise you cannot get into this skirt because your yarn isn't elastic! And since there's no different closure like a zipper or buttons included, you need to make the waist line of the skirt fit over your hips in order to get into this skirt! I discovered this after I had already croched half the skirt, only to come to the conclusion that I need to undo everything and start again. Even my tailor didn't know any better solution, because cutting the crochet for sowing a zipper wouldn't work.
also, to cover the elastic waistband I'd suggest to work a sc or hdc edge, enough rounds to cover the elastic (aka twice the elastic with). then fold the edge in half over the elastic and sew or slst the last row on the first (on the wrong side to hide the seam). if the folded edge is snug enough, the elastic should not twist inside it, but if it does you can secure it by sewing it in place with a couple of stitches in a few spots through all three layers. I hope it makes sense.
i think i've figured out the pattern after row five! after increasing in row five, row six repeats the previous steps for rows 2-4, but you just add one stitch on either side. so basically, the pattern for row 6-14 would be: 7 edc, ch 1, 7 edc, skip 2 stitches, repeat - again, it's the same as rows 2-4, just with one edc (extended double crochet) added. and then once you get to row 15 and increase again, the same thing applies! hope this helped someone!
I love how well you gave the instructions. I learned several tips .I plan to make this skirt. I want t to watch your other tutorials.beautiful job. Easy to follow instructions
I'm now multiple rows into the skirt and just now noticed that it's too wide, can I just decrease some stitches at the top before crocheting the ribbon in or do I have to start over now?
Hello. Iam trying to follow along but I don’t know what i am doing wrong. My stitches don’t line up with what you say and I don’t seem to get it better if I unravel it. I would appreciate it if you could should you’ve just crochet, its very hard to see when you continue. It helps me to understand.
How would I do it if I didn’t want to use an elastic like that what if I made like a ribbed band ? I have thin yarn btw but what if I made a ribbed part instead How would I do it after would u know How to I start it after the ripped part would u know
Can somebody tell me what that black thing is that she has should I think she saying elastic belt is that what she’s crocheting the top over I don’t understand what’s going on what is the name of that black thing that she has in the beginning of the video it looks like a belt but it’s not worded as a belt when I put it in the Amazon
Sirin! I haven’t even watched yet and I’m giving it a 👍. I know it’s gonna be wonderful! I’m gonna make one for me. You always do great work. Thank you.
@@cassandrarudolph1307 I kinda agree. I don't understand some of the words, after double crochet it is what? Triple, trouble,...then the "I will now use the double crochet [instead of the double and a half"], you all know what I mean". So I headed to the comments for helpful answers and found nothing, let alone that she or anybody else doesn't answer. I also make crafty tutorial videos in English as a non-native speaker, so I know how detailed you have to be, so everybody can understand, and I still get negative comments. But I answer all at least. I bought the yarn for this skirt and now I have to go search for some other pattern 🤦♀️🤦♀️

she says after row five, you go back to how row 2-4 is done (6 dc, ch 1, 6 dc, skip 2, repeat). every other five rows (so row 5, 15, 25 etc.) you do the 7 dc, ch 1, 7 dc, skip 2, repeat. you alternate for the rest of the skirt

Hi Sirin .... I love the skirt and I love the way you have explained. However, I wanted to ask you... can I use a different yarn and therefore different crochet hook .... and will I have to do any adjustments.... please let me know. Thanks 😊🙏
Hi Sirin, should we fasten off after a few rows and go back and do the waist to keep the same color at the top? I am asking because I may just buy one cake of yarn to make it for my daughter. This is so nice and thank you.😍😻🐯🐈
Hi. Love the pattern & I hope to make it soon. I do not do Facebook or Insatgram. Is there some place I can go; to find a written in English pattern for this skirt? Thank you!
Hi Ema. I show it on this video. Don't worry it's easy. We will make increases in the row 5, 10, 15, 20, 25... Keep going like that. For the row 5, we will make 2 dc 1 ch and 2 dc into the ch 1 space. I hope that could help 😽

This is very useful. Thank you for sharing. I suppose it’s the same with every skirt that doesn’t have a zipper or buttons
do you have any idea how much yarn this project would need?
I cannot describe how much joy i get when i see the title screen with the cats :)
Beautiful pattern! FYI, looks like an “extended double crochet” stitch.

It's an elastic waist band. They often sell it in a roll. It usually comes in white too, at .05". 1", 1.5 " and so on...

I got confused after the 5th row hahahah do I still stay on doing 7 dc 1chain, 7dc skip 2 stitch then 7dc again on the 6th row??

Changing the hook size will change the size of the skirt. That can be worked around if you know how but it'll mean changing the pattern.
Dear Sirin, you were crocheting from the bottom part to the waist?
Hi, I need to know how to keep the same width after few rows without anymore increases?
