Hansie was a brilliant cricketer and man. Yes he made a mistake but they harassed him and distroyed his career. Ive always loved watching him play. And I even have a file of him that I made up years ago when he was still playing and I still got it. Still love you Hansie. ❤😢
Hester 😂 🤣 I basically had to watch reruns of the Ashes tour, to the point where I started reading cricket autobiographies and that’s how I came to understand Hansies story. The team under his captain ship was the best in the world! He brought out the best in his teammates! Alan Donald, Hershelle Gibbs, even Jonty Rhodes in his early career was groomed by Hansie. I was fortunate enough to meet Mr Volsdeedt, who was always loyal to his memories 🙏
@@keithhodgson6489 A lot of people. This is my opinion and probably just a conspiracy theory. Hansie was the unfortunate "scapegoat" of match fixing that was going on among international cricketers for a long time. When Hansie's match fixing scandal came out a lot of international cricket captains and boards secretly told it's players to deny or keep quiet any involvement in match fixing. The same was told to the "bookies." who could have faced investigation and arrest at the same time. Just imagine what would have happened to the sport of cricket if its best players were banned for life like Hansie with no involvement in cricket forever. Cricket as a sport would have died or would have become strictly amateur today. As I said in the beginning this could just be a "conspiracy theory"
