You and ua-cam.com/channels/S3zRKn9aF46AKIgMFEPEKg.html should totally link up and make a video

Maybe via an Edit, as that's using the chance to get rid of that off-putting mistake in the middle there (the blue text)?
For the Quagoa this would be a massacre that would be noted for generations to come
For Shalltear it was Tuesday
Brilliant.
lmao
and its actually was tuesaday
This is funny and sad at the same time 😂😔 😔😂
I only know this reference because I just happened catch a review of the old live action street fighter movie. 🤣
Glad to see that Shalltear finally felt that her past sin was washed away after the massacre.
Washed away in blood.
XD
Fitting for a vampire.
@@ODDnanref 🤣
I had hoped she would stay regretful permanently, she deserves to after all.
A "bloodbath" if you will.
Nothing is a better therapy session than massacring your weekly intelligent race.
I would like to add that when Ryuro stated that even a dragon lord could not beat his 60k army he was referring to a hypothetical scenario where the dragon lord fought on land. If the dragon lord took to their sky and used his breath attack and magic then the Quagoa would have no way of attacking him or countering him. The dragon lord would just attack, ret treat to re charge his mana and then attack again. That was what he was initially thinking Shaltear was planning to do. He was surprised when he saw her choosing to fight on land and still massacaring all of them.
Bro really said "you pick the game" and still won rip the 50K😭😭
Another point that even @AniNews didn't mention is how deep Pe Riyuro's despair was.Whilst sending his warriors to die in battle ahead of him, he ordered his most trusted men to go back to their people, to select 2,000 children, and then to kill the rest. Ahead of him were the cries of the soldiers, and behind the cries of the children; all dying because he ordered them.
It was such a horrifying thing that he was, as the leader, forced to do, merely so that their race can survive, even if perhaps only as slaves. It was unintended, but Ainz' orders practically quashed any and all dreams for resistance to rise up that the Quagoa might have had; in a single short massacre, they brought to heel in their entirety.
I feel so sorry for them, but thst -500 karma is for sure doing it's job
The only Nuzlocke I tried immediately got dropped when I had to sacrifice my starter Marshtomp as the best course of action en route to Fortree City in Emerald. Cried, lost my will to continue, saved and just never continued. I'd have sent myself to Shalltear to die if I was in his non-existent shoes before making that decision
Also another fun fact(spoiler?!)) : Notice how this incident is similar to Ainz unknowingly spoiling all plans and hope of jircniv previously, causing him to fall in a pit of despair as well. Jircniv and Pe Riyoro actually meet in the sorcerer kingdom since they're both serving Ainz now and after sharing each other's story they can relate to each other so hard that they become besties! They start visiting each other, exchanging gifts and discussing about how they feel sorrow for the next target of Ainz. Jircniv even calls Riyoro his first true real friend.
Even though it was still sad, Pe Riyuro reaped what he sowed because of all the destruction he caused to the Dwarves
@@RedHawk232 wtf???????
Overlord is surely good at finding new ways to make me laugh🤣🤣🤣
There is also to mention that when enough cragoa were killed, the remaining had to kill of their children until the number specified remained resulting in their "King" having a minor breakdown. And also untill Shaltear spoke to him he thought she was a golem due to her armour and movements.
Wait what?
@@Recentlyisekai89 She didn't touched a single child, they killed them themself.
@@Recentlyisekai89 yup. He ordered his people to kill their own children until there was only 2k - to fit in the "4k men, 4k women, 2k children" ratio.

@@Recentlyisekai89 welcome to Overlord
Brain Unglass has nothing to be ashamed of, at least he was able to cut one of Shalltear's fingernails. 🤷🏿♂️🥴
Yep, he went from being arrogant to humble and wanting to become stronger.💀
Bro got humbled real quick
50k monsters couldn't do any damage,
plus the elite vanguard group that was beat in an earlier episode.
Brain really is "pretty okay" level wise.
Definitely not "can take a raid boss on his own" though
Brain "nail clipper" Unglaus
He also earned cocytus respect later on.
Shalltear: bow down to ainz oal gown sama!!!
Qoagoa: who?
Shalltear: shame * loads lance with extreme prejudice*
It's really crazy how of all the powerful characters from Nazarick, Sebas is the only one who has an ounce of sympathy to outsiders. All the other floor guardians simply sees outsiders as nothing more than insects while Ainz himself only cares about not accidentally antagonizing another player which he is unsure if they are actually in the new world and protecting Nazarick and everything that he and his guild mates had built.
It's because of their Good/Evil alignment baked into their biographical personalities. To my knowledge, Sebas is the only servant of Nazarick who's slightly "Good" aligned, due to Touch Me's influence in his creation. The rest are "Evil", some more than others. For instance, Shalltear and Demiurge are pretty much maxed out on Evil, whereas Aura and Mare are only slightly Evil.
Evil aligned characters are all callous and cruel to a certain extent. Sebas is somewhat compassionate from being Good, though because he's surrounded by Evil-aligned allies, he sometimes has doubts that he is worthy to serve Ainz because of being somewhat of a misfit.
@@Spectacular_Insanity I really like that part about Sebas too and also sort of intriguing. If I was surrounded by people who were evil, and I knew they were, I'd be extremely put off and leave. I'd hate being there with them, but obviously, because he was created by the 41, he sees them as nothing but gods incarnate, and follows every whim.
There's also Cocytus and Nigredo. The former having a code of honor and the latter being anorher powerfull good aligned npc.
There are others that have positive karma ratings in Nazarick. Yuri Alpha, CZ Delta, The head maid, and I think 1 or 2 more. But the ones above have a higher rating, Cocytus has a karma rating of 50 so neutral kind of leaning towards good a slight bit lol.
Nigredo, despite her evil sinister looks, is just like Sebas who has a positive karma. Nigredo was even confined (note that Albedo even asked for Nigredo, her own sister, to be executed) after disobeying orders as she tried to save some children kidnapped at the Jaldabaoth's Flames of Gehenna event but she was captured before escape. It was a big act of treason yet she did it anyways just to try and save some "human" children she doesnt even know.
wow, I totally forgot they had that scroll world item with them in the fight. awesome to know what it actually did. overlord explained videos are pretty much a REQUIREMENT to completely be able to enjoy the lore in this series lol
they were going for the darksouls style of lore and story telling where they show the item but only in vague explanation or not at all, the viewer if interested will have to read about it online
Until Aninews showed snippets off the episode, i had completely forgotten Aura had the World Item on her back before the fight, we were shown a scroll flying thru the air and then a pinkish mist fill the air and the next scene showed Aura without the scroll on her back and i never bother to question it as i was entranced by everything else happening. The anime really forces you to pay attention to catch every little detail, that in reality shouldn't need an explanation. Having to read subtitles can make you miss those little details sometimes
Honestly, reading the Light Novels are worth it. Like when Ains declared war on the Kingdom one of the signatures was the "Faceless one" and that is something that you dont want to miss
@@Zerolink30
Or you could just read the light novel because all the information originates from that one.
Shalltear's Kill Field was incredible she killed so many & they never even got close.
It was my understanding she was fighting suboptimally.
She was using the Lance like a sword, so she was just brute forcing it.
Her Lance does the most damage if you use single target thrust attacks (like in the Ains fight).
~But to be fair~ She was specifically commanded to hide her strength, so even though she's designed to use the pipette Lance against armies and gain HP with each hit,
She hide her weapons special ability incase there really was a PC somewhere
@@Spoopball Well to be fair she doesn't need to heal cuz they're not high enough level to do damage lol
Attacks need to be lv60 or higher to bypass physical immunity I think.
It's like getting rid of ants on your food
@@GrimRuler 60 if you are lvl 80. I remember that you can deal significant damage or bypass the immunity of those lvl 100 if you are around lvl 20 below of your enemy. So in this case, the quagoa need atleast a lvl 80 to deal a damage on shalltear..
@@imafish4840 "High Tier Physical Immunity III: Nullifies all low-level attacks (below level 60)"
Now that I saw this cut content, I feel even more bad for Riyuro. To me, he was a great leader to the quagoa. I mean, he united the different clans and he makes decisions to better his race's living. Seeing him struggle like that because of a slight mistake is quite painful, especially when faced against characters like Aura and Shalltear.
Nah they deserved it, did you just forget they were going to wipe the dwarfs extinct? Plus I enjoy reading a Light novel with a “Bad guy” MC.
not only Riyuro but there are also others like the king of Reistize who is willing to give his own life to save his people due to a certain shitty innocent Noble. Then there is Emperor Jircniv, for me, he is an outstanding leader but unfortunately, he is facing the Ainz. His quote was painful when he said in one of the episodes, "I am probably the most unlucky man alive in the world right now".
excuse my English
@@Shin-be5vh Yeah he's dumb the King that is, He slapped a adventurer and is mentally unstable and also clams phillp the noble that stole from Ains innocent even though other nobles just want to put him on trial and nothing more.
This massacre felt similar to the moment dead end fought against Orsted. It was pretty cruel and overall an one sided ass clap.
@@Alharbi-lf3ss okay, they deserved it. But still, it's painful if that happened to you.
The guild that got their world item stolen by Momonga's guild kept crying and asking them to return the world item.
That's why you don't flex like an idiot, got your item stolen is totally on you.
True
which guild was that and what is the name of the world item he stole
prob ulbert did the planning. that dude likes to fuck with other guilds lol
@@pruthvipallathadaka275 I don’t think it was a guild weapon but I think it was an extremely rare ring or other item that they were flaunting in world chat and they Momonga stole it and such
@@sulkingseagull7747 he ask which guild did ainz took the world lv item from
That cry of Riyuro as he watched his nation being culled " Why didn't they show their strength!"? It looked like he did ask for a demonstration, but Shalltear and Auro took that as a refusal. The anime showed it differently. Ruyuro asked to think it over then ordered an attack, making it look he declined.
Right, and then he contemplated his choice for some reason. Anime writers want Ainz to look less cruel where it's possible.
my favorite was the very slight hope he had that mabey she would get tired eventually and take a hit...
if only he knew taht undead dont suffer fatigue.
He didnt really think that, he just had to make sure enough people run in there to make the 10,000 Mark. Sad shit tho
The biggest benefit of the world they picked is that unlike other worlds there was only 1 escape route and it's location was fixed rather than random so the Hanzo's could easily camp it. The more powerful the negative effects of the world, the more escape routes there would be.
I like how mlbb heroes look as anime characters
Without this video I wouldn't have 1/2 the fun and enjoyment on anime overlord
Would be so cool if we could see the floor guardians fight each other to see their skills actually utilized. Like that battle with Shalltear vs Ainz was so dope to see so many skills
The biggest mistake that Riyuro made was assuming that Shalltear could be worn down through fatigue, a problem that doesn't affect undead who are immune to exhaustion.
It's another example of how they don't really know that much about races that don't live underground.
He really should have known better. Golems don’t exactly suffer from fatigue either.
So wait, that blacksmith dwarf just stole from ainz? And successfully escaped?
I seem to recall that blacksmith went on a journey to find a way to smelt the ore.
@@chikin6146 that's what I assumed on hearing that part
He had a "brain unglaus moment" and unlike brain he probably doesnt have a gazeff to get him outta that funk.
in the LN ainz didn't really care because the lvl 45 ore was practically worthless to him also the other dwarves promised 3 sets of armor to make up for it
@@verbum3619 it's hilarious to me that level 45 ore was enough to make an expert craftsman go insane and abandon everything like that... Ains could have simply given him the tools necessary to work with it, but instead he set off on a mission of self discovery to work with a less than half level cap item
Depiction of Nature and Society sounds a lot like getting trapped in The Backrooms
yooo
Imagine if Aura used The Backrooms.
Keep up the amazing work AniNews. Love this series!
informative breakdowns about lore and details on episode you recently watch is always a welcome one, who knew what details you might missed.
Tactically thing Shalltear was the ideal person for this job too. With her obviously eminence strength and ability to regain health with each hit shes going to be the best option for clearing mass numbers of weaker aponents. Obviously shes able to solo stronger single aponents aswell as already demonstrated. I do thing Momonga is playing a very dangerous game, if any 2 of the floor guardians were to turn on him he would surely fall without backup.
Not really. The light novel only has a couple of releases left before it's finished, and there's never been an indication that any of his NPCs will voluntarily turn on him.
The closest you get is them questioning orders or begging for him to choose a different path, but at no point do they actually desire to go against him or harbor any true animosity towards him.
Their entire being is programmed to always serve them. So they are literally programmed to obey. They would never betray. Closest thing to betrayal is them getting mind controlled. The only thing shown so far in the entire world to be able to control them is now useless, because no one possesses that WCI now. Realistically Ainz was in no danger there, especially considering his party right there could take on any other party of LVL100 players
Please keep making these as they are great for understanding the show beyond a surface level. Keep up the good work sir
love your beak down vidz they always just show me why i love this anime so much.

What you forgot was the lack of blood during the massacre. Riyuro and the quagoa saw chunks of meat from their fallen fly of everywhere but not a single drop of blood was seen.
Also after Shaltears attack, the remaining quagoa had to kill their... yeah glad that THAT was left out.
Is the lack of blood a significant detail? If so, why?
@@benji6325 this has to do with Shaltears ability. Remember season 1 with Shaltears raid on the bandit hideout where she "fought" Brain? She used that technique to drain the bodies from their blood.

Keeping up the pace and the quality; nice job as usual. I wonder if we'll ever get some details on Ainz' world item, maybe it's in the web novel?
It was a little unfortunate for quagoa. Only thing the lider could do was requesting some kind of duel to estimate power. I know Shaltear wouldn't go for it, cause of orders, but he could try to minimize deaths. I hope there will be more info about their ability to eat metals and maybe some experiments with another type of materials.
Additionally I can't wait for explanation of Ainz's part of episode.

How would you rate the animation for the massacre? It looked a little wonky to me
Yes they just mindlessly attack her or tried to
I would say 7.5 / 10. The only parts that wrre 9/10 were the slashes Shalltear made. They were only like 2 seconds tho
I would give it a 5/10 its not that i dont like CGI but i think MadHouse could add a little more effort on blending the CGI like Ufotable did with Demon Slayer.

Shalltear growth
Hi love the vids
This battle was even more messed up than described here. The Quagoa started killing their children once they realized they had lost. The poor things are crying as the warriors are killing them... just because the damned fangirls had zero patience. I mean what did they expect when they showed up out of nowhere and demanded surrender. It's not like they saw them battle anyone else, so how are they to know how powerful they are. The king even said that he was willing to bow if they proved just how powerful they were. But the two sycophants just wanted to prove themselves to their lord and decided on the spot to slaughter the number that Ainz told them to... just because they hesitated. Now, in their defense, Ainz would have still told them to kill them because he was unsure how he could sustain their population, but they did not know that and just killed them anyways.
But they were following orders? They dont need to have patience for the Quagoa since they view them as lesser beings. Also, you need to take into account that the Quagoa didnt have any mercy for the dwarfs (same here, its kill or be killed).
I wasn't sure how someone so ponat FPS was going to handle Rust, but you've really embraced the bumbling Capitano persona and turned those weaknesses into strengths! Or, at least, into content. You a real one, Reaps.

Something else AniNews forgot to mention is that the so-called "Dragon Lords" were only run-of-mill Frost Dragons, not real Dragon Lords. The Patriarch of this particular clan of Frost Dragons taking on the title of "White Dragon Lord" as more of a way to stroke his own ego than anything else. But maybe that'll get covered in the next video.
Definitely something for the next video. There's the frost giant war the dragon lord was preparing for too.
@@bryal7811 Fake Dragon Lord, but yes. I remember that from vol.11 as well. And Olasird'arc Haylilyal making mention of how the Frost Giants would leash defeated dragons like dogs.
During the light novel it is compared to trying to read some one else's facial expression when they have no skin. It is hard.
Well If the author knows how to write and express emotion without a visual queue then no, sadly the author goes around in circles a lot for a simple facial expression and things like that makes me lose my focus, it’s still good tho

I think, cgi aside, they could have did a better job of making it FEEL like it was a battle with tens of thousands of mooks. Sure, it definitely looked like a lot, but more like hundreds not thousands.
I think it did enough.
The splash page in the LN did wonders. Always pictured it being near pitch black and each swing from Shalltears weapon illuminates the area with a flash. You'd mostly hear the carnage and get a few glimpses of the action. A little change like could have saved budget while also giving it a great atmosphere.
Im curious if you plan on doing review episodes on danmachi. It's season 4 is finally out. And i would love to hear what was different from the books and bell's constantly growing strength
Me watching AniNews at 11am on the day before school starts:
Huh, how very interesting.
Incredible
3:13 if the monsters there were like _that_ slime in particular Ainz & Co would be very very dead
So I was reading in previous post that people thought Ainz was a good guy or bad guys. I kinda never got that they were good but more like we get an inside window on how a crazy family still has "normal" interaction just like other families. They just happen to be monsters. Outside of the family bomd I think we are reminded that they are evil monsters. So in the novels are they ever address where they are evil or good? Or is it just left up to the fans?
There's definitely something in that chasm considering the Death Knights have the MMBN Undershirt-like skill that allows the DKs' to survive a lethal hit and survive with just one hp.
And considering how brutally efficient those DKs are, it's probably above level 40.
Death knight are lv35 they died on fall impact
@@danieldiaz-rl5fm They can survive the fall impact. They can even survive a high level players attack which is why they're perfect for defense and the reason Ainz summoned them in the first episode of the first season.
@@user-zw5cm4ej7e yes I am aware. I believe the reason the death knight die was because the fall damage force the death knight to activate the skill. Now we have no I idea what exactly is down there but we can assume the ground/air was covered in a element that does damage every second like lava/acid/fire/ice which took the death knight last hp.
I’m sure their sacrifice won’t go to waste.
