the death screen is so minimal that whenever there was a game over i thought penny was just like frame perfectly pausing the game out of exasperation until i actually saw the menu

For me, it's the delivery of "WAKE UP!" during Crocker's monologue
The entire Psycho Crocker bit was already one of the best bits of this stream, but then, the sudden "who the f**k is that guy" pushed it over the top I s2g
If you're not watching the video and instead hearing the audio, it's like some people came across Mr. Crocker pursuing Timmy, ranting like an Elden Ring villain, and they're like, _"who's this guy?"_
I love the switch from "normal" to "disheveled" Penny avatars midway through the video. And Psycho Crocker reminded me of Prismo with a sore throat.

I just wanna say, Penny's icon being all the way into "I am so tired and need sleep dear god" really enhanced the Crocker by a lot. It was already great, but that small detail made it absolutely perfect. Just imagining Crocker looking like that saying all this shit.
It works because Crocker actually does have a hunched back.

I recently discovered that Cosmo and Wanda have the same voice actors as both of Timmy’s parents, and I feel like there’s some sort of metaphor or analogy going on there that I’m not getting
They're the parents Timmy truly needs. Timmy was neglected for most of his childhood and now he has parents who's whole purpose is tending to his every whim. But they also give him the space and support to navigate the choices he makes.
They're like The Other Parents from Coraline except cool.
The parents Timmy needed but never got.
Crockers mind palace is the funniest thing to come out of this entire stream and it's absolutely no contest
the fucking callback to the "don't put any other places in your game" quote from the metroid videos was wonderful

Never before have I felt such a mix of absolute shame for my nostalgia blindness and enjoyment of a clearly bad game and absolute amusement from listening to some of the funniest jokes I've ever heard. Penny and her friends complaining and raging over a game I like killed me, and then the Crocker jokes killed me again.
The experience of my memories of this game and Shadow Showdown, I loved this game, and I hated shadow showdown so much I stopped playing on the first level, I think this game was mechanically more simple so my child brain could actually play it, while shadow showdown had real mechanics and required thinking
I can't believe they cut out "Woke Fairly OddParents be like: Him/Hy She/Hur (Timmy Turner)", that was my favorite one!

I'm 28 and I haven't had a math class in over seven years... I'm a little worried about what it says about me tbh
Hurt a little as an engineering graduate. But then I look back at Penny's slowly dissolving PNGtuber, remember how rough some Friday morning lectures could be on both teacher and student, and think to myself... "yeah, formulas at 8 in the morning were rough on everyone"

The Earthbound ad gag ALONE
I love the edits where Penny shouts "FAIRY GOD PARENTS" and her avatar randomly changes which direction she's facing to simulate Crocker from the show. Absolutely perfect.
What pisses me off most about the dog level is that the whole goal of the level is to get into the mud baths but when you get to the salon you get mud baths as a obstacle. What makes those mud baths bad in comparison to the one mud bath you need to get to in order to beat the level?
It's crazy because other platformers of the PS1/N64 and PS2/NGC era would take active steps to make the "safe" and "harmful" versions of something DRASTICALLY different.
Think Rayman 2 with swimming water. Anywhere you couldn't swim would be swamp, lava, toxic sludge or oil, and you'd even have areas with dirty water to clean so you could eventually travel through it.
And that exact example with cleaning the water is in the WEAKER ports of Rayman 2 that have less levels.
So the mud in the salon thing in BDR just feels a first draft that could've been handled better. 😮💨

The Crocker bit made me laugh so hard that it compelled me to edit them all together because I couldn't fit it in a clip to show it to my friends. I have yet to finish it, but I have to say I've learned more of how to use lightworks on a snapcube fan video than I have ever for any animatic or speedpaint.
I keep coming back to this and watching it through just so I can get the build up to Psycho Crocker's Nightmare Palace and then smiling and giggling like a maniac to the amazing improv.
Also I played this on the ORIGINAL XBOX and enjoyed it.
Hadn't been able to replay it since that old ass console has been put away but I don't think my opinion would change much.
Obviously some things haven't held up, but honestly I think the bit crunched audio fits the visuals.
MiniTimmy was the worst level tho.
