We lived in Wisconsin, and I watched WGN regularly. Loved going to Chicago for shows, concerts and shopping, so an ad like the one that opens this volume would have worked big on a kid like me.
3. Trident- The kid on the bottom left in the group looks like she had a lot of fun holding that giant tube of toothpaste. Edy’s Grand Light Ice Cream- That man has quite an impressive Irish accent in this commercial. Jaws End Credits- Aside from the fact that the credits were completely covered by the News Promo, I always found this end credit sequence to be very relaxing. Everything from the music, to the calm scenery, is a nice change from the intense battle with the shark that took place before this scene. Dubuque Plumpers Hot Dogs- At 9:38, I find it so cute how that kid tries to use chopsticks to pick up the hot dog and succeeded at it, putting it in the bun.
I'm from Chicago; these aired two weeks before my sixth birthday. Very awesome! My parents were faithful watchers of the WGN 9 o'clock News, so they definitely watched these when they originally aired.
I'm aware of this and understand it's a Superstation. That doesn't mean that people in the Chicagoland area did not represent a huge chunk of their viewership.
Clothes Savers would have helped the amount of clothes I have. When will there be a denim patching item that requires no sowing machine or a hole fixer for shirts? Again, no sowing needed. If there is one out there and I am not aware of it, then where is it? Unless Ron Popiel made it, I am buying. Helps with clothing damage when working.
Chicago -a new family drama coming soon..to WGN. WGN Newsbreak Promo-R.I.P Nick Corwin 😢(the t.v movie "Murder Of Innocence"starring Valerie Bertinelli was based on this incident) Toro Lawn Mower-dad's blood pressure is at a very high level Continental Airlines-George remained in his seat the whole flight 😆 Dubuque Plumpers Hot Dogs-these werent as good as Ball Park Franks IMO

That Ford Escort GT at 9:17 is a decent looking car honestly.
This volume has a great set of commercials from WGN. Looking forward to Volume 1,000!
Can't wait for the next one, I know it's going to be a doozy.
I dig the cover of 'Spirit in the Sky' in the Centel ad.
