In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.

He would only hug Alex after both of them removed their clothes.

Ivo not only made an excellent face, he made it *directly* at the camera for excellent television.
This task looks like one of the best tasks in the history of the show. I can't wait to see how the threesome do
Ivo was me when I was hiking with some dudes for class. I kept politely suggesting we were going the wrong way and finally had to break down crying before they listened.

What I still desperately want to know is how long it took them to spot the key after getting out of the locks.
Every time I see Ivo, he gets more cute and adorable!

I really don't think Kiell understood what show he signed up for. He lucked out on the "Guess the Flavor" task being a team one this series.

I'd take my sweet time escaping, and just have a really fast hug with the group.
Yup. I was thinking the same. First hug, thereby getting the best time, then get loose, to complete the task. The hug won't take a lot of time, so you don't lose out from doing it first, even if the TM says "screw you".
Seeing as he said to Ivo and Frankie that their initial hug didn’t count coz they were still handcuffed, this might not work. But if you’re willing to defend in the studio, it could happen.
Clever thinking, but it's not the sort of thing the Taskmaster lets people get away with, due to avoiding nearly the whole task.

I would have been looking for something to jimmy the handcuff locks with right off.
I had to watch this twice just to understand what's going on. I would have never managed this task. A great one.

Probably the first series where _both_ teams were dysfunctional
tbf their approaches weren't VERY different as described in the text.
I hope the final episode has an individual tasting task, I'm not impressed that Kiell managed to escape tasting bad stuff.

So, I'm honestly curious, what happens if one of the contestants has Cleithrophobia (Fear of being Trapped) would you guys just not have done a task like this? or would they get exempted from it? I have it, and I will start having a fulll on panic attack if I am unable to free myself, if I am locked in a room, or tied up or something like that, I just... go completely nuts
I am pretty sure if a contestant, or their agent, had not already said they had a particular phobia before filming, they would say at the beginning of the task. And if not, and they started having a panic attack, the task for them would be stopped, they would be supported, and nothing would be broadcast of their experience. Even Keil's monster minutes were not broadcast.
Some people having a fear of balloons popping continued with the task. Other people have had the task modified due to severe allergies, etc.
Fears and phobias are all about our brains going into hyper-protective mode, based on past experience, or imagined experience. We all have a natural, and sometimes life saving fear of being trapped in some way. It's basic instinct. It's that fear, and vulnerability, that can give people an adrenalin rush that adds to the excitement of play.
The problem is that when fear becomes extreme and is no longer helpful, we can feel out of control. But by dealing with the thinking at the root of the fear, and changing the thinking around the fear to be more logical, we can learn to remain reasonable and rational, and gain self mastery. That's how I have overcome a lot of fears, and a couple of phobias, and haven't had a panic attack in many years. It's wonderfully empowering to feel fear, but have self mastery to remain centred through the experience.

Not wrong, but would take the fun out of the task. Maybe not for you, but if you had an audience, you just cracking locks in a short period of time wouldn't be very entertaining to watch. Use your powers for good, not evil! 😎

Am I the only one who still doesn't understand this? I've watched it twice, and it's still baffling to me.
I did watch it again straight after the episode finish coz I didn’t understand it, so can see where you’re coming from 😂
Each jelly baby has a custom horrible flavour, as listed on the Menu. 5 of the flavours from the menu are in numbered glasses. Each flavour *name* also corresponds to an element in the periodic table, for example here (B)roccoli = (B)oron. When you put those elements in that order (Which this video shows as a graphic near the end) their Atomic Numbers (Boron is the fifth element, so 05) spell a 10 digit number. The locks are labeled 1 and 2, so lock 1 uses the first 5 digits and lock 2 uses the last 5 digits.
