I religiously watch your content, love it! I just got a 5045 myself, talk about a magic box. That Midas set up in front of yours is from Josh Sobeck! I worked with him at Bottom Lounge, one of my house gigs. Cheers from Chicago!
@@prospekt1909 Yeah i used to use the built in one, and they are great. But the actual unit just seems to be so much smoother on the opening and actually allows me to reduce the signal more without it catching any of the softer words.
Well organised festivals from your vids, looks easier than load in at some venues you headline!! I cringed at your cases rattling over those cobbles 🙈 thanks another great vid!
Was at Rock Am Ring this year such a wicket festival, If you look hard enough you could see me on the screens many times hehe, Next WWS show london for me!
Being a sound guy and having worked manual labour, I feel everytime you loading/unloading heavy gear you should have at least a forklift if not at least hydraulic lift table. You avoid injuries plus it's way more efficient
It's good to see you again on tour and festivals.. In these two festivals you had the FOH on one side, not in the center.... how do you handle that? We are looking forward to the next video. greetings from Spain..
Hey James, I really enjoy your content, keep it coming man! I am wondering what of the gear you own yourself and what do you rent from solotech? Cheers
The ssl fusion, Mac mini with screen and waves server are all mine. And all the microphones and clamps. Hired in was the consoles, the dm0 and dx168, 5045’s and maxxbcl
Bro...how do you record the band? is it mix playback or recorded playback....and one more please make a mixing tips on live band...the sound is amazing , great video
Usually left, right, sub and sometimes infills. Then the system tech routes them to the correct speaker outputs. The outputs will go into the festivals setup that can route multiple I/O, this could be a computer with some lakes or something similar or a console routing the guests consoles via direct outs/matrices
Yep same line up each day, slight differences on the stage set ups but nothing crazy and mostly they are very similar. Always great festivals to be apart of and the team there is awesome
Loving these videos! How many outputs generally go from FOH to the actual system? Do you choose what goes where or does the festival system tech do it? Thanks!
Most consoles connect to stage boxes via cat5, correct? Are these typically in place at festivals and shared by multiple bands or do you have to run your own out?
Please tell me how you fly with the console? Are you checking it in as luggage? And if so, aren’t you afraid that it will be damaged during loading/unloading, because airport workers really like to play football with such things((
I know there's not much time to soundcheck at festivals. (if any). But how do you mix for front fill speakers? Or do you just L+R only for those gigs and let the system's engineer figure out the appropiate balance between front fill and main hang? Also: Are you happy with that USB-C monitor? Looking to get one via your link
Yeah my fill-send is just a matrix from my main LR. I send that at zero and trust the system tech has done a good job! Yeah that usb-c monitor has been amazing!
@@RattlinBonesClub Cool. Thanks for your quick reply. I'm gonna get that monitor. Been looking for a slim profile monitor for your stagerack MacMini that handles backingtracks, multitrack recording and frequency coordination. Maybe i'll even get two. Have a great one
@@RattlinBonesClub Thank you! If you have the oportunity, I would (and maybe I am not the only one) really appreciate to see the PA system in such bigs stages in future videos. Thanks for sharing with us. 🤩

Yessssss the 5045 is so good. Cleans up the vocals perfectly
@@RattlinBonesClub Have you ever compared them to the builtin PSE in the dLive?

pleasure working w you man 👊
You smashed it bro 🫡
Haven't watched your content in a while (been busy with gigs myself). The dep drummer absolutely smashed it!
First time ever waiting for a youtube video to premier...cause you're fucking crushing mate!
Thanks!

Use head phones a lot, and kinda trust the system tech has done a good job with the system that what I’m listening to translates across the field

cool
It was a great show. Your video is great. I have one question. How do you connect the festival's main speaker system to the guest team's console?
Usually left, right, sub and sometimes infills. Then the system tech routes them to the correct speaker outputs.
The outputs will go into the festivals setup that can route multiple I/O, this could be a computer with some lakes or something similar or a console routing the guests consoles via direct outs/matrices
Rock am ring and Rock im Park is basically the same festival

what reverb are you using to make that snare popping out so big? great video and thank you for the insights!
Alright I’ve heard that glorious snare verb too much that I have to ask. What verb are you using in the console?
It’s a hall verb at around 3.5 decay, and some eq on the fx return

@@RattlinBonesClub thanks so much, you work on a level much higher than I ever have so it's nice to see behind the scenes at big festival level!
Most consoles connect to stage boxes via cat5, correct? Are these typically in place at festivals and shared by multiple bands or do you have to run your own out?
Are you using a different snare with separate effect chain for the snare hits or do you pull in the delay just in time (either manually or timecoded)?
The effect is a large hall verb that I turn the return of the fx channel upto +10 to make then drop it down to -10 for regular hits
Please tell me how you fly with the console? Are you checking it in as luggage? And if so, aren’t you afraid that it will be damaged during loading/unloading, because airport workers really like to play football with such things((
Checked in as standard luggage. Sometimes some airlines will charge more for oversized or overweight cases. You can’t fly with any case over 32kg max

My dad was selling fries at rock am ring and rock im park

Just a quick question: how do you plug your gear to the stage amplifiers? Just with L/R output or more?
Usually left, right, sub and sometimes infills. Then the system tech routes them to the correct speaker outputs.

Would it be your gear I saw coming back up the M1 Friday morning in a fly by night truck??
Haha ours came back Monday so wasn’t us!
@RattlinBonesClub recognised the truck from your videos, spotted it near jct 26 and thought i wonder..... 😆😆
