i think problem with most bigger festivals in germany besides Rar/rip is that there are way too many german acts for internationals. at hurricane/southside it could be enough but usually rar/rip is the only german festival that is worth attending for internationals.

If you want an instrumental band with so much soul and probably the best drummer in the world but not in a wanky metal overplaying way give toe a listen! Just Polyphia is everything bad about that kinda world to me hate how souless they are as a band.
Rock im Park is so much better - not having to park on a field that turns into mud when it rains (or even being able to arrive via train as it's easily reachable with public transport and not in the middle of nowhere), having lakes around the camping area, not being a kilometre away from the main stage if you arrive late to a show, having a regular concert-hall with great AC as the 3rd stage. not falling onto ashphalt and fucking up your legs if you go down in the mosh - I really don't see how people think RaR is better than RiP
