You seem to neglect what many si fi movie contain: androids. That can provide touch, but it doesn’t create life.
Worse, animals studies show that animals that can create pleasure by tapping a lever or button can end up dead. They don’t care about eating nor drinking when they can get pleasure from a machine.
This seems like a corruption just like any drug addiction.
And I sincerely hope that the usual “solution” of making it illegal is not used.
I only hope that society will respond with interpersonal communication building and community building.
I’m sorry, but too often it seems like our self destructive tendencies will triumph with our extinction.
"Society will respond with interpersonal communication building and community building" That's what we thought when social media was introduced, it was supposed to get us closer but we are now more divided than before. I think A.I will be the last nail in the coffin. I hope it is not but I fear it will.
