The owners obviously took the time to get to know their dogs triggers, that says a lot about them, what a beautiful dog, I loved watching this and learned a lot, thanks for sharing

Not to make Dwayne feel body shamed, you can see in his joints that he is having some mobility issues & due to the torso girth, he could use to lose at least 10lbs. Don't forget doggo parents that an obese pet is not a representation of how much more you love your animal versus those who maintain a healthy, breed recommended weight ❤.

A lot of times as a groomer, you're more at risk of being bitten by a nervous/anxious dog than almost anything else. Biting can be a fear response and depending on HOW worried the dog is can easily mean you get little to now warning before you actually get bit. I groom with my sister and it's the "nervous nitts" that we almost always take the most caution with because they can be the most unpredictable, and NONE of them WANT to bite but if they do it can honestly really mess the dog up long term. 😢 It's really awesome to see returning clients come in that get more and more comfortable over time and the ones that were able to move from having a muzzle for everything, to certain things, to being 100% muzzle free is so awesome ❤❤❤

This guy did a great job during his groom! He was clearly very scared and uncomfortable but he did a great job controlling his emotions! Fantastic job by the owner and groomer as well, a little communication and honesty can go a long way with reactive dogs. Everyone who handles this guy should be aware of his triggers and you guys did a great job managing them.
I'm not a religious person but bless you for all that you do for all these dogs that just need a little more understanding and patience. People rarely take into consideration what an animal experiences while they are trying to understand human communication. So thank you so very much.

Never occurred to me until later how frightened Dwayne might have been in the situation and how the muzzle helped and protected him as much as it did you and your camera man. Great job Vanessa, Dwayne looked amazing afterward even if you had to cut the session short. His owners and you are doing a great job socializing such a beautiful example of the Neapolitan Mastiff breed!
Please keep adding the owners reaction to the result at the end of the video (if they are ok with it of course) is one of my favourite things of this kind of videos 😊
He is the cutest but those sad eyes!!!! I would give him anything he wanted to make him smile.
For all those who rescue dogs…thank you! ❤️🐶
🐾 ❤ 🐾
What a sad looking boy, but after the groom he did go to come to you wagging his tail. He recognised a very kind spirit. You are a Godsend to these animals ❤❤❤👵🏴🌹🌹
Finally a happy, loving and caring home for this gorgeous misunderstood breed in need of a firm loving hand and tons of socialization. Just like all large protective breeds. He looked so happy to see his family!❤
I'm really happy that Dwayne is getting a loving home who know how to care for his breed since it seems that his previous owners did not do that at all. I hope that he'll find happiness, this big boy deserves all the love in the world :)
Keep us posted on Dwayne! He looks like a sweetie and saw how much trust he gave you! He senses your good nature and I think he will be another of your success stories! Looking forward to a couple months for an update! Thank you for what you do for these fur babies!
I nearly cried... he was so stressed 😢... you are amazing, Vanessa
he's lovely... the fact that you are small lady worked in your favour... you were small sized threat with kind lady voice and treats to offer.. i love seeing vid's like this! bravo Dwayne!!
He has a look of quiet resignation but clearly didn’t trust the treats.❤❤❤
I love that the owner called him Baby, her baby ❤️🐾❤️
sweet baby boy needs to be given time
What a sweetie. You can see the pain in his eyes. I hope he gets better with love and understanding. ❤️
Your awesome!! You don’t turn dogs away for their breed, history etc. etc. keep up the great work! Your doing amazing!! You help so many dogs in need, in many different ways, and they always feel amazing when they leave your place!!💯❤️
She has the freedom to do that because of her channel. A typical groomer doesn’t have the luxuries Vanessa has.
@@parryyotterI’m fully aware of that. But she still doesn’t have to work on aggressive large dogs with bite histories. She chooses to help all breeds and dogs with issues.
He looked so sad and scared but I was so glad to see him happy when he saw his mommy!😊
I grew up with a mastiff. I was around 3 years old when we got him, & he was about 1 year old. He became my companion, my guardian, and my napping companion (& sometimes pillow). He was boisterous with my brother but always very gentle with me. RIP dear friend ❤️
Aww that was so lovely when he came back to you after he greeted his owners return
Im so glad you showed his owners and how he transforma into such a sweetheart. God only knows what abuse he endured and so glad he found his family. Good Job Dwayne! ❤
Get your head out of your arse, dogs get this way due to a lack of training and socializing.
Love the shout out for Freedom Drivers! It is a fantastic organization that does amazing work. For anyone else located in Canada (from southern ontario east) they are frequently looking for volunteers to drive short legs with animals and it is a great way to volunteer :)
I appreciate that the owner was just as concerned for your safety as his. He looks like such a sweet and serious boy!
He was an absolute star, bless him! I anticipated lots of problems with him. But he actually seemed to enjoy the experience! Well done!
Helping him become aware that a groom will help him feel better and not be scary is wonderful. Thank you for taking time with him. He’s a good boy
He’s adorable and it seems he even went running over to you pacing after his owners. Cute!
"Delicate Dwayne" was wonderful. You are a star Vanessa! 😊
I was gonna say just looking at him he doesn't look aggressive...
But he does look extremely concerned.... poor guy. I'm sure that whatever happened in his past is the reason for the outbursts of aggression, poor guy is just trying to keep himself safe.
He's absolutely adorable. I hope his new family are able to help him work through some of his problems
Family/Breed Genetic memory passes through the generations , Humans included ! Imagine that ... With Love 🙂
And that's exactly it, he's keeping himself safe. 💙🐾
He dont need to, those are huge dogs, even a playfull bite can be dangerous and if/when he feel in danger you are in danger.
Agreed.❤
I love how you took the time with him and gently got him outside his comfort zone but didn't push him too far. Definitely helping him deal with new situations and build that confidence- thank you for working with with these lovely dogs who need some extra TLC !
Aw he’s so nervous, he doesn’t want any treats.
I'm not a religious person but bless you for all that you do for all these dogs that just need a little more understanding and patience. People rarely take into consideration what an animal experiences while they are trying to understand human communication. So thank you so very much.
I’m so glad you didn’t risk continuing after the muzzle came off. ❤ Stay safe always
Being a mastiff owner...he did really good..big beautiful baby.❤
Mastiffs are so expressive. Their emotions are always written all over their face. I had two of them and always knew what they wanted just by the look they gave me.
Goodness me...Mastiff with a bite history sounds like a criminal record. Duane needs to rehabilitate his reputation! His joy and tail wag at seeing his lovely owner showed us the real Duane and said to me, never bully a puppy!!! What did someone do to his head?!! I'm on your side- Duane. Don't let the jerks get the best of you!
Oh my gosh, him running to his owners at the end is so perfect. He's so shiny now!
You are one of the luckiest people in the world. You found something that you are REALLY GOOD AT, that you love, where there is a need for your services, and that you can get paid for. And you are REALLY, REALLY good at this!!
I love you! The way you take time and are so aware of the dog’s needs is amazing. I wish all groomers were like you. Please do give us an update the next time this sweet boy is groomed.
You're right, his rump is very much shaped like a horse's! What a sweet dog, so glad he found a loving owner. I hope we see him again. I love it when we get to see the owners at the end.
Dear Lady you are amazing ! Dwayne is awe- inspiring ! The thumbnail image of your head next to his head is a powerful site ! Lucky are the animals who are brought to your door. Love your channels. Thank You for what you do , Ali x
Duane was such a good boy. A dog this big could still cause quite a lot of damage even with a muzzle (especially when you are half his size).
Did I read, before, she is just over 5 feet tall?
@@QUICKBOOKS1- she weighed a cat in a video I saw recently. Dwayne's nearly twice her mass.
Why is everyone spelling it Duane when she writes it in the video as Dwayne lol
@@parryyotter the old TTS thing isn't perfect
Dwayne is a BIG BABY! He needs lots of hugs and pets. He is in good hands, both groomer and owner. :) Thank you for sharing him with us.
I hope this handsome boy gets less scared now that he has people to love him lots. You could feel how tense and concerned he was. But he still did just fine!
Thank you to all the people working hard to rescue the doggies in need! 🙏🏼❤️🐶
Thoughts and Prayers for Dwayne. Praying 🙏 He finds Inner Peace through the Love ❤ he's obviously receiving. Can't wait to see him again. Great job Vanessa, as Always.
Duane is a hilarious name for such a dog😅😂
I’m here for it 😅
I’m thinking he was named after “The Rock”
I feel like he was named after The Rock. Because he’s jacked.
Its Dwayne*
Just like Dog the bounty hunter 😂
Big guy looks so done with life, I hope he heals from what ever he had to deal with in his past
Such a sweetie! So glad that Dwayne got a wonderful home! Our rescues often come with no idea what they’ve been through. Mine had a lot of fear, but she also got a lot of love! Thank you Vanessa for giving these guys a spa day!💕
I don't know if I love him or his owners more. The love was so apparent!
My thoughts exactly ❤
When he reunited with his family, all the love they have for each other just made me tear up.
What a gorgeous dog. I love big boys. Love his name too. He did very well. He knew you were a good person.
Well done Vanessa, he was clearly very distressed, and you kept him calm.
He looks like such a tired old man while you're giving him a bath. Redesigned to his fate 😂
I feel nervous or anxious dogs do much better in a private or one at a time shop where there is far less stresses of other dogs, dryers action. Duane did a good job and he looks great! See his 'roundy'happy ears when his momma came. Makes his experience so much better! 🎉
Good job to the both of you. Vanessa, for teaching Duane that people can be loving and kind, and Duane for being a good sport.
He's a big one! Gorgeous!!
Poor boy, he seems so sad. You are always so kind and I love watching your grooms
You're an amazing human being. You've got so much kindness and patience xxx
Awe, I am so happy that Duane has A great adopted forever family Who obviously love him, and will do everything they can to help him get over his fears. ❤❤❤❤
