Those “mistakes” are also likely clues to the next cipher. The misspelling of “paradise” may point to an S->C transpose, or perhaps “pair of dice” might tell us something about how the cipher was made.
It’s things like this that show if they had just made every single thing completely public we all would’ve solved it faster than them or maybe even caught him 😂
I cracked the final message. It reads "I love trolling so much. Trolling is so much fun. Trolling is more fun than killing. I was just doing a little bit of trolling. My name is Joe."
It would be easier if we acknowledged the fact that due to spelling “errors” we can actually identify the ethnicity of the zodiac. Latin Americans “mistakenly” write “s” as “c” when it precedes “i” or “e”. Therefor, his “mistake” when writing c in pardice could actually be a clue. I’m Seth, and thanks for coming to my Ted Talk
It's also equally possible that he's a non-Latin American who grew up in a neighborhood of Latin Americans. That would still inherit his accent. Sounds like Zodiac makes a lot of references to The Most Dangerous Game, a story about a crazed man who hunts humans for sport on a island. Honestly, his demeanor is very similar to the antagonist of that story.
He's most likely dead now anyways. He's basicaly the modern version of Jack the Ripper: killed in secret, was seen but not recognised, sent taunting letters to the police, stopped commting murders eventualy, died, case still open postmortem. Zodiac could technicaly still be alive and in his 70s/80s/90s but it's more likely that he's dead
He died in 2020, well at least the man who commissioned the Zodiac psyop. He also ran the The Night Stalker. Multiple killers were involved in Zodiac I believe, and it leads right to the Presidio. Any guesses as to who the man is? Instead of breaking his codes look at who the most obvious man was, a man with many under his command in charge of psyops and one of the biggest Satanists in San Francisco, he was also in charge of MK Ultra/Monarch programs so he had official cover.
14 years it took these people to solve that code. Most would have given up within a few months. I'd rather be surrounded by a few people who can do the impossible than hundreds who can do well enough.
@@Kolgarth "Us" as in the general collective of countless people trying to solve the puzzles for decades. You yourself don't need to be one of the people doing the actual solving, you just need to have some relation with or be on the same side as the people doing the actual solving, which in this case would be just about everyone except for the Zodiac Killer. As a random example, any American could say, "We walked on the Moon first," even though only 12 out of the literally millions of Americans in history have ever walked on the Moon, so the chances of the person saying that having actually walked on the Moon is extremely slim.
Plot twist: The so called "spelling mistakes" the "Zodiac" made in the code were purposely meant to the make the 340 puzzle even more difficult to decipher.
The Feds should have called out the Zodiac by calling him an idiot for making an error in his cipher. Someone as narcissistic as he was would not stand for that.
@ZeedooIsCringe “called out” FFS… As in publicize a statement pointing out how ignorant he was, just like I am calling you out for apparently misreading my comment! Put his mistake on blast for the entire world to see, provoking further responses from him until he trips up.
It's not that the cypher was incredibly brilliant. It's that there were not enough characters in it to make a determination using statistical methods available in the late 60s. Zodiac was no criminal mastermind. His first cypher(s) were cracked by a husband and wife team on their Sunday off and he was very nearly caught after shooting Paul Stine, his last canonical victim.
But he didn’t get caught tho, almost don’t count and he was always ahead of the police. If they really broke the cypher they would know him by name cause he hid his name in them
Zodiac wasn’t “one step ahead” - he was lucky. Zodiac also said he left his real name in the first set of ciphers, too: but he didn’t, why believe him if he said this for the latter set as well. Zodiac also claimed credit for a number of deaths/murders he couldn’t have done, said he was going to snipe at kids exiting school buses, blah blah blah. These are Son of Sam style murders done by a pathetic loner. (You know what tripped up the SoS? An unpaid parking ticket.) Zodiac was no criminal genius. He couldn’t even do his ciphers correctly, he had a number of transcription errors in both coded message sets. Again, this cipher is not highly sophisticated! It doesn’t have many characters which is what made it difficult to break.
It's amusing watching people speculate over how much of a criminal mastermind the guy was when all you had to do to not get caught before the 1990s/2000s was literally not get caught in the act or confess to the crime if arrested.
What are you even talking about? He is just a serial killer, nothing here relates to "the joker" whatsoever. If you want to know a real life "joker" in terms of personality and character, the closest you would get would be Charles Manson
Reminds me of a short passage I read in school, "The Most Dangerous Game" A man is stranded on an island after he was knocked off his yacht. He finds a Russian man who was a hunter, just like him. Turns out he hunts men, "the most dangerous animal" Gives me chills.
He wasn't smart, making an unsolvable cryptogram is extremely easy, the smart guys are the ones deciphering without the cipher... That takes some real skill! One of the reasons it took so much to decipher the last letter was that he messed up while writing the cryptogram
@@xLPxatrick I honestly don’t have much interest in this guy, or in “mystifying” him. I’m just pointing out that his mistakes appear to be intentional. You’ll notice that he spells paradise, “paradice.” If this was really just a mistake, it’s convenient that the misspelling uses a phonetically interchangeable letter. The mistakes also appear to be consistent. If he was just bad at spelling, this would have translated to his written messages as well.
@@enlightenedchipmunk2001 I mean if he didn’t want the code to be deciphered he coulda just made his own jibber jabber with no laws in place, then no one would be able to figure it out except him, but what’s the fun in that?

He's basicaly the modern version of Jack the Ripper: killed in secret, was seen but not recognised, sent taunting letters to the police, stopped commting murders eventualy, died, case still open postmortem. Zodiac could technicaly still be alive and in his 70s/80s/90s but it's more likely that he's dead

Or jack the ripper is the zodiac killer 👀 if you look further back you might see if there was another killer like this
He died in 2020, well at least the man who commissioned the Zodiac psyop.
The dedication is beyond impressive

As a random example, any American could say, "We walked on the Moon first," even though only 12 out of the literally millions of Americans in history have ever walked on the Moon, so the chances of the person saying that having actually walked on the Moon is extremely slim.

Lol exactly! I was thinking the same thing.
It's amusing watching people speculate over how much of a criminal mastermind the guy was when all you had to do to not get caught before the 1990s/2000s was literally not get caught in the act or confess to the crime if arrested.
