Unless you skip Hamish's last quest as Arthur and do it as John instead, Hamish is older and you get a cutscene of him showing John what Arthur caught.

yeah, I did it that way. John and Hamish get to reminisce about Arthur, and it felt like the "right" way for that plotline to end. Still a sad ending but a little more bittersweet.
plus I guess that approach means Hamish gets to live some extra years.

Yeah and the permanent idiot ball Micah who magically makes characters stupid just for being near him. Even the first time I seriously didn’t want to rescue him and often leave him to rot for a really really long time. Wish they didn’t do that mission because I really doubt Arthur would let Micah out and just claim the town hanged him before he could get there. When he starts blasting everyone, this is doubled, a ‘high honour’ Arthur would just let Micah die to the hornet nest he kicked up.

One theory about Thop's unfortunate demise and the one I subscribe to is that he died from exhaustion: the spell was his life's work, but was rejected by his elitist peers and dismissed as a bluntstone. Thops perfected his theory, this power he discovered, after pushing himself to his limit. I still pay my respects to Thops whenever I'm passing through the Academy as my sorceress character: of all the scholars in the Academy, Thops was more worthy of the stone crown than any of them.

    • @karmicrespite5737
      @karmicrespite5737 2 роки тому +106

It’s also worth mentioning that if you look at the lore/usability of the spell is actually incredible. There’s a similar spell called “Carian Retaliation” that also blocks spells and is generally better… but Thops’ spell can block Incantations. This means that the spell can block sorceries AND faith based abilities, it really is a major breakthrough.

I'm not sure if it's a side quest, but in Mass Effect 3, you're able to make choices involving people at the station. One is involving someone with PTSD in therapy. If you go to a certain point in the hospital enough times, She tells her therapist that she'd feel safer with a gun and the therapist tells her she'll send someone a request to see if she can make that happen. If you choose to let her have a gun, she takes her own life with it. It doesn't affect the story, but it's a bit depressing.

There's one side quest I will always feel bad about completing in Ori and the Will of the Wisps. After building the first houses in the glades, a Moki outside one of the houses asks you to tell his family that there's a new home for them and gives you the key to his house. But when you get to their house in Silent Woods, you find them turned to stone and take his childs stuffed animal back to him in the glades. The quest ends with him running back home, never to be seen again. Though, if you visit the house... You'll find him there with his family, turned to stone. Oh, and fun fact, when you check the quest in the completed quest menu, it calls it a good deed, despite the fact you just sent this Moki to his death. If you never complete the quest, he'll never know anything happened to his family and that's probably for the best.

There are several quests in _Skyrim_ that you might not want to complete for various reasons -- let's see, right off the top of my head there are:
    * "The Blessings of Nature" - if you gave Danica the sapling, the game forgets to remove the "dead Gildergleam" model from the plaza before adding the new one to replace it. It's so incredibly obvious but has never been (officially) patched.
    * "Paarthurnax" - Delphine inevitably asks you to slay this dragon. You CAN choose to just ... y'know, NOT go kill the dragon, but you can't officially "opt out" of the quest in your journal and you can't do any _other_ Blades quests while this one is still active.
    * "Darkness Returns" - The Daedric artifact of Nocturnal, the "Skeleton Key", functions as an unbreakable lockpick. So, just how important is it to return this unique item to the Temple of Nocturnal? Depends in part on your (the player's) skill at Skyrim's lockpicking minigame, and whether or not you want the "unbreakable" perk at the top of the Lockpicking skill tree.

Somewhere along the many versions of Skyrim, there was a "fix" implemented for Paarthunax that removed the quest if Paarthunax is alive at the end of Dragonslayer. As for the Blades, they will not work with you if Paarthunax lives. The opposite is true of the monks.

    • @krampusklaws2238

The Skeleton key is worthless when by that point in the game you should have hundreds of lock picks that breaking picks means nothing. Besides it locks you out of three powerful powers for a very minor convenience.

My pick is Oblivion, the Brothers' Separated at Birth questline. You can get it in the very beginning. It gets you the Honorblade of Chorrol, an ebony sword that can't break, is weightless, and deals its damage as magic so it ignores armor and harms ghosts and such that are only harmed by spells with no weapon charging nessesary. You can even grab it at the start, never level up, an go crazy as a character fighting level 1 and 2 enemies with your endgame-level weapon as it spawns as an ebony sword no matter your level. The quest never times out or cancels, so completionists can just save finishing it for the very end of their game. Something to think about if Skyblivion happens before ESVI.

You forgot another one for Borderlands 2. In the Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragons Keep, there is a quest where Claptrap wants a beard for his wizard look and in starting the quest you will be given one of the best pistols in the game: The Grog Nozzle.
It's a Moxie Gun with the ability to heal the character and usually always comes in Slag, which boosts your damage of other gun types.
The gun will also not only heal you, but you might also have your shots multiply like you are seeing double when drunk.

Its another case of Fromsofts half baked immortality lore. Xenoblade Chronicles 2's Torna DLC has a number of sidequests where you can recruit people to come to Torna to help Addam's party fight Malos, the most memorable of which to me were these two children from another Titan who's father had left and mother had died so you can reunite them with their dad and everybody's happy.
Then you remember this is a prequel DLC and not only does the Torna titan sink and a _lot_ of people die, the survivors are later hunted down by the evil pope. Some of whom are captured and subjected to horrific human experiments! So just....maybe don't do the sidequests.

One side quest that you shouldn’t even _start_ is helping Granny Rags in Dishonored.
If you’re going for a no killing run you can soft-lock yourself during the first mission after your escape.
In Dunwall if you help little old Granny Rags deal with her “gentlemen callers” she’ll reward you handsomely (if memory serves she gives you a total of like 300 coin and 3 or 4 runes). Perfect when trying to buy quieter gear and stealthier powers.
But if you interact with her _at all_ then during the Dunwall Sewers mission you’ll run into a decision where you _must_ either kill Slackjaw or Granny Rags.
    There isn’t a nonlethal option.
