- Richland Cemetery in Pennsylvania has created a way for grievers to connect with loved ones who have passed: Telephones of the Wind. The installation on their grounds has a rotary phone for grievers to hypothetically call up those who have passed to converse with them. "Any kind of news, It's really just to connect. It's a spiritual thing," Ginger Pollock told Inside Edition Digital's Andrea Swindall.
My grandmother just passed the other day, my mom has been leaving voice mails every day and will continue to do so!
Many condolences, my dad just passed too and I'm going to bury his (fully charged, topped up) phone with him. It is so thoughtful of your mum to leave voice mails.
I'm so very sorry for everyone's loss, I'm crying like a baby because I lost my mom 2 years ago now. This is a beautiful way to remember your loved ones ❤
@@eshamisha5488 Don't cry hun. She is watching over you and other loved ones. Belated condolences.
Gr8 idea. On a similar note, my beloved dad recently died suddenly, my neighbour laughed because I topped up his phone and plan to place it in his hand before the coffin/casket is fastened down. Dad always had his phone in his hand.
An Uncle had been a farmer. One of his kids took some soil from the farm, put it in an envelope, and stuck it inside his jjacketl
Good move.
What a spiritual idea. Yes the old rotary phone is wonderful.
Makes me miss payphones and having a landline lol
You can still get a landline, through wifi 🤣 Is it really a landline if the power goes out and/or no wifi?
….I miss a good landline too! 😆
@@R.obin. I miss yelling, "IF IT'S FOR ME, TELL THEM I'M NOT HOME!" 😂
@@jaimereynolds258 lol can't slam the receiver down hard anymore when telemarketers call
**stays at home and just picks up my own phone**
That's a valid way to cope with your grief too. I've never been able to go back to my family's graves, it just hurts too much. My mom goes to visit family graves any time she's nearby. Everyone deals with it how they feel best and there's no reason to judge one way or another.
Right cause who tf bouta make that drive just to play pretend … this will fool the gullible but either way you get a nice place to bury loved ones
For real... What's the point? The phone's not directly in front of every single grave, so if distance doesn't make a difference, why go there to use it at all? Just stay home and use your own phone - or go and stand in front of the grave.
Wendy,
I know my family members aren’t present in the body there but I want to go to their graves to acknowledge that they were in my life
“We’re sorry, the number you have dialed has been disconnected or is no longer in service. Goodbye”
I saw the phone operator on a tik tok video she appeared on the show family feud.
And now I'm sobbing 😓
I would definitely use it! I miss my dad! 😭
Ok so I am really mad with what you said instead of going to that stupid phone MAYBE go to the his grave and pray and maybe put something like a note or flowers or go to the church and pray instead of wasting your time at a phone that you think is authentic

@@JoeMcCarthy-kj1vr "pray?" "church?" I don't think that Jesus Christ is happy with what you wrote. Have some respect
This is seriously depressing yet wholesome.
Too bad I can’t contact my dead dog 🤣, I have his ashes in the basement though. I once posted about my dead dog on Reddit and got cyberbullied and stalked by a middle-aged person because of it. Not a dog person I guess. And somebody else thought I was a bad person for liking dogs on Reddit and saw me as “lesser than them.” They wrote three paragraphs about it 😂. Now I have to think about this Reddit situation whenever I think about my dead dog.
i'm sorry the internet tainted your dogs memory for you :(
You do know that you're using the laughing emoji instead of the sad one, right?
@@bostonianful I’m sad about it, but I try to not get too sad about it. They say laughter is the best medicine.
Why would you allow a bunch of strangers that you will likely never meet ruin your memories.?
@@tshaffer9681 They were just trying really hard to be a pain in the a*s, they commented “lol” whenever I said my dog died and I was depressed because of it. So it was kind of memorable.
A phone where people cry and snot and fluid leaks onto the phone. 😳
This will be perfect for me. I miss my brothers, they were too young, & gone too soon. They had so much to do still with their young children. I didn't have the opportunity to say good bye.😢Miss you dearly.
This is wonderful!

Thank you for this video ❤️🙏🏻
I heard something similar but with A.I. and voice manipulation. You can now have a conversation with the dead.
😂 i seriously hope you’re joking
Isn't that a black mirror episode?
@@irmz5372I believe it
@irmz5372 nope, they aren't. There was a video documentary about a new business that uses technology to record loved ones with their voices. Before they die they talk about their life, their stories, adventures, etc. After they die, loved ones or people in the future can ask them a question and they will answer, which will correspond to the specific question. If they aren't sure, the ai will generate in their voice "I don't know, or I'm unsure", giving an answer characteristic to what the deceased person wrote or spoke of when alive.
The company says it's a futuristic way of recording family legacies. Although I think there's a possibility of a security issue and exploitation. Creepy, yet comforting.
@@redkellbell6169That’s demonic. Demons can impersonate and mimic loved ones and just about anyone! Very dangerous!
Finally, something heartwarming!
Good idea. In my 30s and spent many a day talking to my grandparents on a landline home phone. Very nostalgic and a good way for people to cope.
Miss house phones. Man time flys
I'd use that to connect with my dad or my grandparents and other family members
I would be scared someone would talk back 😭
What a wonderful idea! I immediately thought about young kids who have lost a loved one and how this tool can help them connect to that person. Very unique and I think all cemeteries should have this.
Thank you ❤❤🙏🙏
This is really sweet, and quite thoughtful
Do the staff lysol wipe it after each use? Do they charge a quarter?
I’m glad you asked that question! 😂
I love this idea!! 💡 :) 💕 this put a smile on my face 👍👍 😇 🕊
BEAUTIFUL! 👌🙏🥰🥰
I think it’s a great idea!
thats sweet
Connect with whom????
This is amazing
❤❤❤
How can we get these phone booths in every cemetery? Around the United States? I am in Florida and this is a very special way of reaching out to your loved ones. This is a fantastic idea!
LOVE IT! Its amezing! We need it everywhere i kinda need it too
Reminds me of a book. I think it was called Phone call from Heaven. Or something like that. It’s by Mitch Albloom and it’s beautiful. I’m not someone who cries easily or follows the Christian faith but this one hits very hard and it’s bittersweet. I highly recommend this book and his other works to everyone.
I love it . I have in my cell phone my grandmothers phone number and she has been gone a very long time. so I get this.
They have one in battleland Washington
That so cool ❤❤❤
This seems like a fantastic idea.. until the phone rings in the middle of the night.
AI should be used to answer the phone in loved one's voice...and start a conversation.
That would be impossible and JUST GO TO THE GRAVE
That's so cool ❤
Now every scam is trying to getting "co-operate"😂
What a generation.
🥺❤️♥️
That’s a great idea.
Call them, and nurture the relationship while they're alive, then let go when they transition. The grave is not the place to morn words that should've been spoken while they were alive.
This is the closest thing to heaven having visiting hours.
In 2017 there was a similar setup in Tacoma, WA; you could record messages on a phone for the dead and the speakers up above replayed them for all to hear, one by one. Considering I walked into the area on a strange day when the streets were deserted and I was all alone downtown in a big city with no cars and no people listening to the voices of the living carrying messages to the dead I still kinda wonder if I died that day...
Im watching this on my phone and this is beauti....
Hold on, i gotta make a call
Hi Mom. Hi Pops. I miss you
I miss my mom 👩❤💋👨
This is actually wholesome
So do you talk to someone? Or do you just stand their talking to yourself in an old school phone?
No, thank you😢
It's all fun and games until you get an answer back.
Please rethink this idea!
What if someone is recording your message to your loved one? What you say IS personal and should only be heard by family and friends.
Your loved ones CANNOT hear or see you once they’ve passed from this world!!
Their soul is awaiting judgment in Heaven or Hell
Please don’t use that phone.
Talk to your family and friends who knew and loved your loved one and share memories with them.
I know that my relatives would not want me to use that phone
So I wouldn’t
And, it’s necromancy to talk to the dead, forbidden by God! Dangerous! They’re spirits now and we’re not to interact with spirits. That woman is most likely a witch snaring people to fall into one of satan's devices! Edited to say…grieving people do it anyway without a phone, but c’mon this is encouraging necromancy!
I think it is a great idea ! I think it would help a lot !😔
"Holla if you hear me..." ?Tupac
Do the calls get charged at a long distance rate?
its not connected.
Talk to them about their car's extended warranty.
If I had a bottle of whiskey 🍾🍻🍺 with me you wouldn't be able to get me off that phone🍾🍻🍺
Why would this take the place of talking to them at their graves?
There was a Twilight Zone episode where this actually worked.
It's a virus 🦠 spreader, there should be a container of sanitizer wipes, and a trash dispenser, I wouldn't use it, I just talk out loud when I get the urge to talk to deceased loved ones 🤓
So what does it do , what's in the other end
❤️ love
It's all fun and games until someone starts talking on the other side.
This world is getting dumber a d dumber
Tell us you lack compassion without telling us you lack compassion.
Sounds dumb.
So it doesn’t sound helpful for you, but don’t undermine the coping strategies of mourners.
Anything but God in this new age
sounds like a damn zelda title
Is it me, or that almost looks like from Once Upon a Time in Season 5?
wtf this is weird... so you can talk to people has passed? do the dead?
Using it or make a joke of it
ITS THOUGHTFUL...
BUT A LIE... 1:56
“Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun.”
Ecclesiastes 9:6 King James Version
HEY love...
The TRUTH SHALL MAKE YOU FREE!!
Way to advertise a cemetery
Gets sick from germs off of public phone.. bet. What a goofy idea.
Not understanding this at all.
WEIRD !!!!
WHAT WOULD REALLY BE COOL!!!! Is Have Your Love One In Advance Record ONLY TWO MINUTES Of ANY Conversation and Ai Can REALLY TALK TO YOU In Your Relatives Original Voice!!! Creepy, Sorta But In The Privacy Of Your Home? Perhaps Therapeutic ...maybe LOL. I Would Use It At Least Once.
Does the phone talk back?
No.
Bruh
Can’t anyone just write letters anymore?!? Gosh!!
I’m sorry what
Have you no soul? This is an incredibly beautiful thing for those who miss those important Sunday night phone calls to family, especially their mothers and grandmothers. I think it's brilliant.
@@drusilla_darkeI don’t think they’re trying to be cruel, they’re just confused. I get it, it’s not mainstream and this might be depressing or creepy for them.
@@drusilla_darke I commented this after seeing the title, not the video, and yeah I think it’s great but this is before I had the added context lol
@@JustaSamoyed Exactly what I meant
I don’t get it
If you haven't gotten over a loved one's death 5 years or more, than you need therapy
True ❤
Moving on is a better way to describe it. Nobody really "gets over it".
Imagine they start using AI on it
😆
Making money?????
55th comment!
Necromancy it will open the door to the devils do not do it .
*Isn't this bit judgemental of the dead people; as if they only know how to use old phones?* (Just a joke).
too weird for me
Same
NO ONES LAND LINES ANYMORE. STUPID IDEA.
Rubbish
This is demonic
The real question is, who thought this was a good idea?
Psychologists specializing in grief.
This seems distasteful and guilt ridden to me.
This is not healthy.
First
2nd
According to newest, nope.
It's kind of cool, kind of sad, kind of weird. But I'm glad it's there for those who need it.
I legit thought that each casket would have a receiver so when you called, you’d be speaking to that person in the casket directly.
Why not just speak to them at their grave? I would be concerned the calls were being recorded & some jokers would be laughing at them.
Yeah you're right you can just go to your lost beloved person's grave or go to the church to pray and maybe put flowers and a note on the grave
There’s no actual line so no one would be able to hear ur conversations it’s just that the phone
@@XxCloudiexX So what's the difference between holding the phone up to one's ear versus just a plain old rock and talking to it? Seems like a ridiculous idea, I would say... and possibly those witnessing such a thing.
I feel like the purpose of it is to make it feel like you're able to talk to them on the phone again
I guess maybe it's because when you're talking out in the open it doesn't actually feel like much of a conversation
I have a 1970's era rotary wall phone in my kitchen today. I have no landline, it's more of a decoration, but it does work.
There is a lady here in Nashville that has had the same setup for YEARS. So this really isn't "new news".
Who answered 😂😂
