"there are never good guys and bad guys. we're both" I LOVE THIS MAN
Say anything you want, but seriously there is no person in the entertainment industry more pure and real and loving and kind and all the good things as Flea is. This is a standout human being even if you didn’t take his musical contributions into consideration!
best commentary ever
That's a brilliant comment
There is never good guys and bad guys. There is always both.
Wisdom...
Love that line
My god this is fascinating, I could listen to this all day. Flea is so full of hard earned wisdom. Great interviewer. Definitely getting the book.
I love the way flea expresses himself, all from the heart, beautiful to listen too. Great questions too. 💚🎸🎺🎶
Me too and thank you for the support.
I've read Flea's book and, to put it mildly, it's fantastic! Really. I've never read a book like it and I'm so glad he didn't go down the rock star memoir route. He's one of those people that I'd invite to my 'dream dinner party', such an inspiring individual. I wish him well for whatever he does in his life.
Everytime Flea speaks I have more respect for him
Flea is a wonderful human being. An example of someone who puts every ounce of what he can give into every performance. A legend.
Sorry, but what a terrible way to phrase your first question. Did you read the book you're holding?
Oliver McIntyre after with you, I didn’t phrase it right
When you get to know Flea he's the glue that held the RHCP together
This book is fantastic. It was released in November 2019 recently.
It's a great book, thanks for commenting
Dude what is up with this interviewer? Dude seemed like he didn't even read the book and tried to wing it. Very general questions and not really listening to what Flea is saying. Flea is a man who speaks from the heart with love.. loved to hear his authenticity!
Flea seems to be a very thoughtful, and down to earth guy. So glad he didn't become a casualty like so many others.
Badass cheekbone you got there flea
*guy's you should get this book it's interesting*
it's great
Andrew Cruz No.
Andrew Cruz oh really?
It's interesting to hear what he said about his Mother. I'm going through a "Bad Patch" with mine now. I think our relationship was actually better when I was younger, Now I'm older I'm more aware of her faults and I'm more likely to tell her if I don't like something or I'm unwilling to tolerate it.
"you've been doing drugs for 27 years"... wtf. Such an off putting way to start the interview.
Couldn't agree with you more.
He didn’t say that at all he said “for most of you life” and flea said “I haven’t done them for 27 years”
@@73brook that's even worse 😂
@@allcapsbeats no

Great interview,.
@@SurfahSistah Thank you!
With all your Being...........The only way to play.....
this interviewer man lol
Wow, what a terrible way to start off an interview. Flea was gracious, because he could’ve really torn you up on that
Hey Dan! Was this recorded recently? Before or after the Chili Peppers announcement? Cheers!
Rodrigo Coarasa I conducted the interview over a month ago.
@@DanSchawbel That could´ve been THE QUESTION.......
@@davejohannes7694 Agree!

It was so inspiring!
Great interview!
Bridget Weiser thanks
7:10 this is hapiness
First thing the interviewer says is, so you've obviously been on drugs all your life and flea is like , no not for 27 years , way to do your research bro and your holding the book
Yikes the start of this interview was painful to watch. Interviewer incorrectly interpreting book’s title. 🤦🏽♀️
I am thisclose to getting my first tattoo... it's gonna be a Chilis one, esp now (JOHN)
cool
Patricia, I want to tell you a story, When I was a child, I had a grandad, He was in the Army and fought in the second world war. It was (and is) very common for Soldiers to get Tattoos and he was no exception. By the time I knew him, He had left the army and ALL his Tattoos had faded, so much so that it was virtually impossible to tell what they were supposed to be. I suppose what I'm trying to say is that what might look like a Chili Pepper today, could more closely resemble a Willy tomorrow. Food for thought, I think you'll agree? 😂
@@ricchardo my dad was a medic in the 3rd wave of Normandie.
That guy couldn't have started this interview any worse... Jesus
you've been doing drugs most of your life?. I actually havnt done drugs in 27 years. Hate interviews who don't do research
It was a mistake for sure, but after we got that question it was awesome!
How embarrassing was that intro... "Umm, I can tell by your book cover you're a drug addict"... "umm nope"
Have you heard of rhcp?
Heard!
❤️
E vero che sono persone con cui ho a che fare.. cmq purtroppo non è uno scherzo..

Best known for Back to the Future
Well that was an awkward opening to the interview
Marry me Flea
Flea talks about love and unity and all sorts of things but yet him and Anthony fired Josh just to take the abusive husband back ( John ) . Don't get me wrong I love John but he has quit twice on them. I guess his ego got the best of him and he couldn't believe the band continue to be successful without him.
They were successful without John because people were still hooked on material John created. As good as Josh is, he could never elevate his creativity to the level needed to even come close to what John did for the band. Do you have the impression the rhcp where as successful in the past 10 years as they were in the 10 years prior? People were going nuts when they played old songs during their shows but didn't really respond too well to new material. I don't think there's anybody out there who could really replace John. I believe Josh always knew that he was not going to be part of the band forever, I think he knew John was eventually going to come back and he knew that Flea, Anthony and Chad would always choose John before Josh. Calling John the abusive husband is way out of line btw. John did what he thought was best for him and the band by leaving but making sure that the band had a good replacement (let's not forget that John was the one who gave Josh the opportunity in the first place) , now he's back with his family.
Lmao you’re a fucking idiot. You don’t even deserve to “love John”.
Man dude started the interview the worst way, dunno just saying.. good interview overral.
Who is that homeless guy?
what about his relationship with satan?
Such a bad interview for a great book.
Missed opportunity
Sometimes experimental jazz is over people's heads. They pretend to understand it but.........
I want to make a rhythm opera about dying a religious cult prisoner.
Flea talking about profound meaning in their friendship and music, interviewer then likens it to being in a fraternity.. idiot... Thanks Flea ! 😎❤🤙

Flea looks sick man I hope he is okay
not sick just old he is almost 60 years old
57 he said it in the beginning
He meditated before the interview and seemed overall healthy, just tired from the book tour.
I thought he looked good.
