  • Hello Everyone,
    So I've managed to burn the clutch in my Triumph Tiger. I've cleaned everything and put a new clutch in it, but in this video I'm taking the sump off and cleaning the inside of the engine as good as I can.
    Hope this video was helpful and I'll see you next time!
    Thanks for watching!

    Thanks a lot for that man. I have to do the same on my 900 thunderbird. I was a little frightened of the job, but you make it look so easy. Cheers

      Its imperfection is its charm. I had a Tiger955i between the two 900s and didn't like its over-efficiency.

    I recently did a sump off clean on one with only 35k and a full service history, it wasn't any cleaner than that, so it's worth doing regardless of the clutch. Good clear video, right down to the horrible rear sump screw.

    My friend has this engine with a full original 7500 km, I wonder if it is a solid engine.

    • @garage_tales
      @garage_tales  10 місяців тому

      They are pretty good engines. Their only weakness known to me is the starter sprag clutch. At 7500Km I would assume it still has the original one.

    Hello there,.I have thesame bike which I have been restoring, there are two small screws next to the oil cooler lines, is there a special washer for one of those screw, as I am leaking small amounts of oil from one of those screws.

    • @garage_tales
      @garage_tales  2 місяці тому

      I’m not sure to be honest. I never had it off. Is it a banjo fitting? They usually have copper washers.

    Hello!!
    Could you tell me which givi plate you have used to mount topbox....see that you drilled trough the tubing...but Which plate lie's under monokey plate......thanks! Like your channel 👍

    • @garage_tales
      @garage_tales  Рік тому

      Hey there. Thanks for your comment. Appreciate it!
      I’m not sure I fully understand, but under the Triumph (made by givi) top box mount, there is the original rack for n the back that I’ve cut and welded to work.
      There is a separate video on my channel in which I talk about the top box and pannier rack if that’s of any use 🙂

    Nice video. How many miles does have the motorcycle? Which is oil quantity, when you replace it, including oil filter. Finally, what is the pickup sensor air gap.

    • @garage_tales
      @garage_tales  Рік тому

      Hey there. Thanks for your comment!
      Bike has about 50k miles
      Oil capacity is 3.75Liters
      Air gap is 0.6 to 0.8mm
      Hope that helps.
      All the best!

    I have been thinking of getting one of these bikes,(thats how i came across your videos) are they unreliable bikes? Or are there any major pitfalls with owning one? Great video by the way. Many thanks.

    • @garage_tales
      @garage_tales  Рік тому

      Hey there. I may be biased, and my point of view not very broad, but I think they are great bikes. I’ve had carb issues with mine ever since I’ve bought it (they have been messed with) and came to the conclusion that the only way to fix it is to do an efi conversion, but even so, I’d buy it again. I love it 😁
      They don’t have many known issues to my knowledge. People complain about the air filter being to hard to replace, they suffered from spag clutch failure and some had issues with the alternator rattling, but I think that’s it 🙂

    • @PolarbearsandPandas
      @PolarbearsandPandas Рік тому +1

      Ok, thanks for letting me know. I think I will go ahead and buy it then. I have found a lovely purple and silver one but I was undecided, after watching your video it seemed fairly easy to work on so, congratulations you are responsible for another old Tiger adoption.
