Maguire polish makes some great stuff for clear plastic such as headlights etc. It doesn't involve buffing or even alot of rubbing. Just wipe it on a few times back and forth they're new again
Was going to ask if this worked for headlights. Will look for Maguire. Thanks!
@BobbiGail maguire makes specific polish for headlights.. as long as they're just discolored it does amazing. If they're pitted the thing to do is wet sand them and spray them with 4k clear coat.. it's called maguire plastx
the comment I came in this section for thanks alot you guys 🤗

@@TheNavagePatchi wonder if you can use this on foggy car headlights?
Too lazy to use a wet sponge and rub? I'm sorry for the plants and animals where you guys live.
Only problem with that is the same thing is going to happen to that clear lacquer, the UV light is going to haze it over. Best thing to do is polish the haze off the plastic lens and then treat it with UV protection.

Anything oily, even cooking oil will work. Anything is better then sealing them in with laquer.

If your lacquer is not UV resistant, it'll go yellow and oxidize in a very short time. Plus lacquer always shrinks.
Use UV resistant urethane instead as a top coat. And if you abrade (sand) away the oxidized layer from the solar cell first, it will allow in more sunlight and increase efficiency over the old, crusted up cell.
If it is UV resistant won’t it not let the UV light through to power the solar cells??! 🤯
Nothing like doing it right!
Wish I had considerate neighbors like you 😊.

@@juliebraden6911 Where did the phrase start?
You’re AMAZING!! I didn’t know that was the issue with my solar lights! ThankYOU!
Lol.. neighbor shanigans. Love it.❤
Does lacquer affect the panels ability to absorb sunlight or you aren’t sure?
It does not. It merely restores the plastic to a clear state and allows more sunlight to reach the sensor.
@@TheNavagePatch
Wow, who knew? So happy about this tip! I have thrown out many bc of this.
@@TheNavagePatch interesting. I’ve read that UV inhibitors in paint can affect solar panel output but never looked into lacquer. With this theory one could easily restore an entire array with just lacquer! Nice
Would this work on clear vehicle lights??? Hummm... might give that a try!
@@rhondahambright4295 I would try regular toothpaste on a cloth and buff it on the headlights.
The funny random acts of kindness I do are when I see a great toy or piece of furniture on curb/trash day, I take it and leave it at another neighbors stoop for their kids to enjoy. The reason I responded to this specifically is in the past I have thrown away a bicycle that had brakes which only... kinda worked.
It was a cheap bike that I didn't feel like fixing, basically if a family received this bicycle as a random act of kindness, they wouldn't be aware of the problem and somone riding it could get hurt.
