Why I Love Warden [For Honor]

- So I've been playing this game a long time (since release), and I've been asked many times who my main is. Even now I don't know if I'd say I have one...but I can say my favorite hero right now remains Warden. So let me tell you about why.
Warden is love, warden is life.

I love watching my warden slowly walk in a zone, waiting for an enemy, watching the fight from afar
Speaking of Warden actually, I've been running a Warden-based build on Witcher 3 for the last week now with barely using any signs except for quen and yrden, oh and of course using a crossbow on the side since I've always wanted Warden to have a crossbow feat in For honor.
Warden is Warmongers cool little brother that she isn't ashamed to let sit at the cool kids' table with her friends lol

Jokes aside, centurion is another character I played in my early days of starting for honor (alongside lawbringer and black prior).
What drove me towards centurion is his spiciness, he has a sword in one hand and his other hand is a jawbuster (rated E for everybody).
I'll even go far as to say he's a son of mine, that graduated to rep 70 (I don't use him anymore, the only time I do is when I want to teach a lesson).
It's kinda funny how one of the reasons why you love warden because of seeing Havok is a lot like how I fell in love with orochi from watching Nova King. I always felt like orochi was the whipping boy for light spamming, because every time there was a complaint about light spam, orochi was always mentioned despite the fact that there were other heroes who could light spam better than him. I want to prove that there was more to orochi than just light spam and Nova King was one of those orochi mains who showed that there was more to him than just that. I began to master his delfects, mix ups, and more. When his rework came out, I was disappointed that his heavy deflect was removed, but the fact that his current deflect could now break hyper armor was a fine trade off. I've been playing other heroes more than orochi lately due to being rep 70 with him and wanting to try out different play styles, but orochi still holds a special place in my heart.
Raven, your videos make me want to play the game more. The way you talk about warden, how enthusiastic and committed you are to your lore, breathes new life into the game for me, and inspires me to keep playing, no matter how many times I lose or do bad.
Warden is the quintessential Knight.

As a lvl 80(?) Player with my warden being 45 rep. I have played him since the day the game came out. And over time, I have had quite a lot of victories. But I had A LOT (and I repeat this: A LOT) of failures. Even when my friends joining in the game after me, they immediately got better because A. I mained warden so much when they've experimented with other heroes, and B. I was too caught up in my own experience and splendor, that I fell off the deep end
Now that I think about it while writing this, warden to me resembles something to me, that even when you fall to the ground, get pushed to the side, and everything seems to progress further ahead of you while you feel like you're behind... You still grab your longsword, you get up and you continue slashing and shoulder bashing your way to the top while being true to who you are. And I think that is what a warden is.
Anyway, thanks for the video, Raven Knight. I love warden too lol.

This would be a great mini series. Hearing your thoughts about the heros, how your perosnal history with them makes you feel and how your opinion on the character has changed or remain the same over the years playing the game. And I wouldn't really worry about needing to be a professional comp player to discuss thag kind of topic considering this is your perisnal experience we would all like to hear about.
I had this experience with Black Prior as well. I was playing Conqueror and one of my teammates was a BP, I was just so in love with the style of fighting that they had, the executions. AGH, still my main to this day.
But Warden I like because compared to the other characters he is rlly simple and I enjoy simplicity
Newish to for honor and trying to play it more often while I love the characters I struggle with making them somewhat unique warden is however one of my favorite to create.

I would love to see a follow up video to this of you you showing us how you play Warden. What is your playstyle like? What things do you look for in a fight? etc..
My warden is about a man who has lost his way, a man seeking his purpose after knowing only hate and violence. A knight who wants to bring change to himself and lead others around him. However he is conflicted with himself as he's killed so many in the name of "right and wrong". He's followed everyone's code but his own, but realized he never had one to begin with....and so he searches...

This would actually be pretty good little series for other hero's
first but i love warden and lawbringer both equally but i seand understand raven insight. But i agree before the unblokable second heavy it was a pain. I never saw the diffrent code perspective i nerver saw that detail that amazing, And please i would love a whole series of this type of video for evry hero.

Warden is definitely my main since the game first came out! Hell, I even customized him and my other mains (Orochi, Raider, Tiandi, and Afeera with Warmonger as my Horkos character) exactly like they are in the campaign. I even roleplay them as the campaign characters! But Warden, above all, is TRULY me! The story, his morality, his asthetic, EVERYTHING, just felt like me! I even have started (now have to restart) recording all events and story missions using these characters and organizing these videos and other lore-related content and trailers in an organized playlist so people can follow the whole for honor story. Unfortunately, I have to do it all over again since the Channel I did it on was terminated for UA-cam violations.
Berserker since early beta and loved the relentless assault zerk’s capable of. It was annoying during the turtle meta since NO ONE wanted to attack and just hold staring contests with each other. Come to think of it, most of my favorite heroes dual wield 😂
He needs a counter option , possibly a grab to absorb other enemy hits .

I'm a warden name and I love him, he just feels satisfying to fight with, plus the variety in his drip
totally agree, Havok helped me too, im now a warden main, and i see warden as almost a knights templar. a noble who has left behind their power and fame for a life of upholding their values in justice and honor. a fully trained killing machine killing not for fame or wealth but the greater good. my own warden ive made as holy/crusader as possible. great video!
Warden is my highest rep at 43 and I'm a Warden main who always comes back to Warden because Warden's kit feels incredibly adaptable when compared to more specialized characters.
EDIT: Also if I could give warden a buff, in-chain Zone Attack

I brought for honor because I liked knights and then I saw warden in the trailer and I wanted the game.
I created my warden based on a real life king named Despot Stefan Lazarevic. He was king of Serbia and the first knight of the Order of the Dragon. He emulates a warden. Hope you look him up and do a historical video on him just like you did for Vlad. He is amazing person ro research and when you research him you will begin to realize how much of a Warden he is.

Ironic that the postergirl is also the most underrated
I love Warden, but the one thing I hate about this character is the majority of the freaking chest armor. I know we got the hero-skin, the chimera, and the recent variant that helps with that a little bit. But Warden really needs a new set that isn't ugly leather with 5% metal. And Ubi didn't bring a new set for anyone in this recent title update either.

Hey man this is why I wanted the VG because I love the viking ascetic and look, like yeah they are all vikings but it's hyper realized. Now we have what I think of as a viking, just wish it was a round shield. But since it's the VG I get it.

Still waiting for the day the lord warden comes back and we get a real rework. He still feels a old character in the current game even if you are godd with him. He doesn't feel like a sword master and he is way behind other vanguards .
Honestly, what Warden needs is just crushing counters all sides and an undougeable zone to cover his bases and so people can't just i frame everything you swing and because i see warden as a warrior that doesn't attack first and they will defend themselves if attacked.
i agree, but also give him shoulder-bash after any dodge, not only forward. Then he's perfect.
If we really want to make him a bit spicier, give him a dodge-light-attack and make his top light a stab with some range, the fact that a longsword has no stab attack is honestly ridiculous.
@@barba3377 He used to be able to SB after any dodge. They nerfed it after Warden became dominant in duels.

Of the knights I believe that are capable of leadership, warden and lawbringer are the only ones who can lead righteously but warden has something lawbringer lacks, a heart for the people of ashfeld and beyond. lawbringer's character strikes me as a righteous defender of ashfeld who smites the heretic and humbles the lawbreaker, but I think he has been blinded by his oaths, and that it would bleed into his actions as a leader for he lacks compassion to his enemies and it would rub his subjects the wrong way so they will live of life of fear. The warden will still enforce the law as his oath requires but he has different obligations for it is in his name for a warden is a steward of ashfeld, a leader of men who rules in peace and war, an example to the people, and a warrior who fights with compassion and purpose.

I'll be honest I love warden, but I don't really like his moveset it feels like the only way to win a fight with him is to bash,gb, and light. I hardly ever so a warden player throw a heavy unless it's after a gb, and it makes me sad to the only to win with warden is to play this way. He feels weaker compared to the other vanguards I personally think he needs a H,L,H combo and a third heavy for his heavy combo. Also I would love a broad sword character for the knights
