I adore Lara Parker. She was one of my favorites on the show. Her acting was loads of fun to watch her do curses and spells which were so melodramatic, but at the time, I loved her work on this show.
Well I still don't understand why Lara Parker didn't become a huge star. She was wonderful! She was so captivating and enchanting; I couldn't take my eyes off of her. Watching this interview I still feel the same.
Lara Parker was my first love. I was 6 years old running home from the bus stop to watch dark shadows. My brothers and sisters all the neighborhood kids ran to my house. My mom would pull the curtains and make popcorn. It was a blast and that linked us to friendships that have lasted all these many many years. There was not one girl at the house that did not want to be Lara's Characters. Family reunions we still talk about Dark Shadows.
I remember running home from elementary school every day with my brother to watch Dark Shadows. Every night we would be scared to death to go to sleep in the dark bedroom afraid if Barnabas, Angelique, etc. and my mother would say, "You kids are never watching that show again!" And the next day we did all that again :) Angelique was both captivating and terrifying at the same time.
I loved and still love Lara and i loved her on Dark Shadows as ANGELIQUE and ALEXIS and ANGELIQUE was so scary and I got a note from LARA and it was in 1975 when I got her note and a picture of her !SHES SO PRETTYAND ILL ALWAYS LOVE HER !
I dont adapt well to modern technology and heres a testimony as to why.... I keep hearing people say what sounds like Alexis where is my casket ??? Lolololx99 I am never sure when yo trust Alexis !!
Ms Parker was one of the most talented actresses. Dark Shadows had an outstanding cast of female actresses, with Ms Parker at the top. Her characters were essential to the series
Love the dresses that the girls wore 😍 💕 so beautiful like dolls. I love Dark Shadows. Wish they would show it the entire series from the beginning to the end and start them all over again. Love Laura's books.
Loved it! Me and most of my fellow 8th graders in the fall of 1967. The Reverend Trask! The day Barnabas bricked him up in that cellar wall, and so much more. Had to get home for 4:00.
Lara Parker's character in Dark Shadows was so mean, but so important . I hated Angelique but I love Lara. Very nice interview, her feelings about the show and her character are remarcable.
She was the reason I started watching DS. I came home from school one afternoon and was flipping channels -- remember when you actually had to use the physical dial on the TV? -- and there she was as Angelique in the original 1700s time-travel story, doing a spell over a voodoo doll. I thought, "Wow, what is THIS?" I was hooked then and there. She was mesmerizing as Angelique. Sorry to hear her acting career never really took off, that's a shame.
Dark Shadows was a head of its time regarding daytime TV. It is now on UA-cam if anyone watches to watch. Lara was my favorite character on the show. Also, Victoria' Winter's character was also my favorite.
L.P. was so ladylike even as a witch. Too bad though when Barn married her she couldn't be content and was insecure about Vickie being in the house, then again there would be no story.
im a very young dark shadow fan i love it my kids love the name of barnabas alone.i personally will love to see a remake of this show in its theactrical form i think it should be carefully considerd maybe in that form it might be a mega hit.Writers must also understand that the effects of this show takes nothing off tge expierience . I personally feel that the movie with johnny deep was a mockry and it could bin way better and more serious
Back then, when all the other 15 year olds were acting stupid over Raquel I was just looking at Angelique and having sweeeet dreams.Your still just that beautiful.
Charlze Theron looks like Laura.. love her and she wrote some DS books that are great..it sucks she was absued by her husband...I read, becuase Angelque would not put up wth that. Ths lady has to be 1 of the mot beautful woman ever..I love you Laura
I can't help but wonder how many adults now in their late fifties through early sixties were a little bit TOO involved with this show during its original 1966-'71 run..... Dr. Joyce Brothers warned parents that "Dark Shadows" was at least possibly harmful to little children's impressionable psyches. For certain in 2019, kids have access to all sorts of horrific and violent imagery through modern technology, particularly TV and the internet and the now decades-old DVD industry and before that, VHS and vcrs. But back in the sixties, "Dark Shadows" was the first example of lurid, terrifying entertainment that was readily and easily accessible by children since it aired in the afternoon, conveniently after school and before dinner, and back then, television was free , which is to say there was no cable TV with all the fees and necessary equipment attendant thereto. Parents today worry that their children's 'screen time' is too excessive. Over fifty years ago, "Dark Shadows' may well have been the genesis of that very valid concern.
I agree....I have never been the same since watching that hand come out of the coffin in 1967 while watching in a dark basement. My older sister became a Norwegian....I think Dark Shadows is to blame 🐳👽🐳👽5️⃣2️⃣🎬🇳🇴🎥💰✍️💤🎱
Dark Shadows was great entertainment. I loved horror, loved the gothic look of the show, loved the brooding atmosphere, and loved both the characters and stories. They don't make 'em like that anymore.
at the end of the sere Angelque aved the day and de n Barnabases arm..he admit he loves her..in Laura books.. they were once young lovers but went on to their separate destinies and meet again.. reminds me of how shows like american horror story got inspiraton. even though some a a take on dracula, frankenten, jeckle and hyde, dorian grey, the wolfman etc the tme travel and parallell unverse wa great but t got confusng..lke on how today marvel and dc makes explanig thngs with a multversse. But Laura a the ultimate witch and the orgnal vampire witch for a bit too.. remember her gettng out of a coffin like barnabas, and her gong to hell and getting sent back to earth. The dream cure was great. I vted the manson n Terrytown NY and the tree on that hill in the back where she was supposedly hung on night of dark shadows. nice tour.Laura will alway be a star
Only from a D.S. perspective, I don't think it's sad. It's good that she din't get involved with Hollywood, neither did Frid. More respectful to be a writer in my opinion.
they cut off dark shadows' to put some word game on as a relacement with Roger c Carmel and Valerie from land of th e giants. they drew pictures to guess statements. or films
I would like to see another revival of the series. I thought the revival in 1991 was pretty good, but would have been better if they would have kept it more like the original show. Too many characters were different. I especially hated the way they changed Willy and Maggie.
+Claudia Cuttino The problem with this is that the young actors of today do not command the demeanor, presence or sophistication possessed by the actors of that time. A modern version of Dark Shadows would be pathetically hip-hoppy or hipsterish.
atlantic 11561 true...there was something so unique about Dark Shadows and the actors/actresses that played the different characters....its one of those timeless shows with such originality...i dont think any remake could ever be as good as the original show was...even the music was exceptional
In school daydreaming of running home to catch this great Gothic soap memory .What great memories of the late 60’s and early 70’s.
Lara Parker is as beautiful today as she was 40 years ago. She is a wonderful writer. I think she is very talented.
Yes
I loved viewing !! So lovely !!
Is it true Lara was the FIRST Mrs. DAVID BRUCE BANNER in The Incredible Hulk T.V. show?
Very Gifted lady, too!!!! All of the People, plays "Dark Shadows," she & Johnathan Frid, is my favorites!!!!
Lara is a gracious, beautiful lady with a grateful heart. She and Frid had remarkable chemistry!
This women...is absolutey enchanting....she is so warm....and friendly...such a great loss....R.I.P.....Lara Parker
I adore Lara Parker. She was one of my favorites on the show. Her acting was loads of fun to watch her do curses and spells which were so melodramatic, but at the time, I loved her work on this show.
Lara Parker is 82 years old and still is beautiful. I saw her on the Dark Shadows 2020 Halloween Broadcast .
Well I still don't understand why Lara Parker didn't become a huge star. She was wonderful! She was so captivating and enchanting; I couldn't take my eyes off of her. Watching this interview I still feel the same.

It's so wonderful seeing someone as wonderful as this remember something so fondly, something that we're going back to and obsessing over today.
A big hug would make my day instead of a autograph she is so gorgeous.
Dark Shadows still remains a place l revisit and which never changes but still holds magical fascination.
I love Lara Parker! I wish she'd do more television. Such a classy lady!
The most beautifull all cast, love you Lara.

You were awesome at it! Love you Miss Parker!
Ms Parker was one of the most talented actresses. Dark Shadows had an outstanding cast of female actresses, with Ms Parker at the top. Her characters were essential to the series
It was a surprise her career didnt go further along acting. Ms Parker certainly was talented -- hey though, it's still possible:)
Kyzl Orda wow she's still beautiful
@@kyzlorda She had a small part on Kung Fu with David Carradine; however, I rarely saw this beautiful and talented actress in much besides that.
I agree with you!!! Very Beautiful lady, & a very Gifted lady.
Completely agree
I got her autograph in 1987 and those green eyes just locked on to me and I almost fell down.
Love the dresses that the girls wore 😍 💕 so beautiful like dolls. I love Dark Shadows. Wish they would show it the entire series from the beginning to the end and start them all over again. Love Laura's books.
I always loved the show . I always watched it at 6 years old. It was my favorite show and not cartoons lol.
Loved it! Me and most of my fellow 8th graders in the fall of 1967. The Reverend Trask! The day Barnabas bricked him up in that cellar wall, and so much more. Had to get home for 4:00.
Lara is a very gracious lady. I enjoyed watching her as Angelique.
I’m watching the series again after 50 years love it
Love Angelique. I am streaming Dark Shadows on Tubi tv and i always look forward to an episode with Angelique.
The story of Angelique and Barnabas was tragic. Barnabas did not realize until the end when Angelique was fatally shot by Trask that he loved her. 🌼🌝🌸
i loved the hairstyles. so beautiful. when men were men & women were women.
Lara Parker's character in Dark Shadows was so mean, but so important . I hated Angelique but I love Lara.
Very nice interview, her feelings about the show and her character are remarcable.
LOVE you Lara!
I was so “enamored” with Lara Parker’s character, Angelique. She was so beautiful (still is).
I always wanted to be Angelique!! Lol!
Love her !
A beautiful woman.
Lara Parker is still so beautiful!
I love how Lara describes Dark Shadows @1:41

I love Lamar's attitude toward acting on Dark Shadows! I would have loved to meet her, as I think she's wonderful!

I REMEMBER SEEING LARA PARKER, IN AN EPISODE OF EMERGENCY. SHE DID A SOFT DRINK COMMERCIAL TOO.
although I hated Angelique cause she was so mean, Lara Parker wa marvelous in the role
emily schwellenbach agree completely
emily schwellenbach Ditto Ms Schwellenbach!:)

I still watch it on Tubi !
Watching the Video, Lara Parker, is "Still a Beautiful lady!!!!!!" A sweet lady, just look at her!!!!!
Angelique my favorite in DS ♥️
Beautiful lady.
Dark Shadows was great entertainment. I loved horror, loved the gothic look of the show, loved the brooding atmosphere, and loved both the characters and stories. They don't make 'em like that anymore.
she is still beautiful i saw her in a film with jack leman save the tiger i think and on a episode of either kojak or bareta about a summer killer
L.P. I think you were too good for Hollywood.
She would not need witchcraft to win my heart.
I could tell they were mostly stage actors. And if you close your eyes and just listen, the dialogue sounds like it was written for the stage.

Dear lady...I have your framed photo as 'Angelique' hanging on my living room wall.
I faked sick just to stay home and watch Angelique harangue Barnabas
Too bad there's no Thayer David interviews.
I love her two books I got from THRIFT BOOKS >COM
Love me SOME ANGELIQUE..and DARK SHADOWS..BOB IN CINCINNATI OHIO
I loved to hate Lara Parker as Angelique! Really fun, fine actress (and so gorgeous!).
How sad it D. S. Was the highlight of her career at such a young age. How sad.
Only from a D.S. perspective, I don't think it's sad. It's good that she din't get involved with Hollywood, neither did Frid. More respectful to be a writer in my opinion.
they cut off dark shadows' to put some word game on as a relacement with Roger c Carmel and Valerie from land of th e giants. they drew pictures to guess statements. or films
she could be monsterous or meek and vunrable at the same time as Angelique. She wasn't invincable even if what she did was major destruction.
I would like to see another revival of the series. I thought the revival in 1991 was pretty good, but would have been better if they would have kept it more like the original show. Too many characters were different. I especially hated the way they changed Willy and Maggie.

Girls had a certain sweetness back then that they do not have today and men were manlier. No it could never be redone.
I was afraid of her on dark shadows
