Soft Red Bean Mochi | Red Bean Paste Desserts #6 | Aunty Mary Cooks. Red bean mochi is another popular Chinese dessert often available at Chinese dim sum restaurants. It is also a very popular Japanese dessert commonly called daifuku. Aunty Mary shows how to make this easy recipe of soft red bean mochi at home using homemade red bean paste. These red bean mochi are soft and a little chewy which is very delicious.
Ingredients
1&1/4 C glutinous rice flour
1/4 C sugar
1 C water
Red bean paste
some glutinous rice four for coating, dry fry to cook

Note:
1. The recipe makes about 12 pieces, depending on the size.
2. I used unrefined sugar which is a healthier option. But it makes the
mochi a little yellowish.
3. You add cocoa powder or matcha powder for a different version.
4. You can also use different fillings.
5. It is quicker to steam if the batter is a thinner layer.
