Sounds lovely - perfect for clean, finger style, tasteful picking. I suspect it's very versatile - fine for pop / rock as well. I'm continually pleasantly surprised with what Eastman are doing - the SB59/v & Juliet are both terrific solid bodies. BTW, totally agree that too many channel reviewers seem to dwell on OD / Distortion stuff which just clouds the sound of the actual instrument. If it works clean it's gonna sound fine overdriven if you have half a clue about what you're doing 😂
Agree 100%. So many reviewers want you to hear how great the guitar or pickups sound and thevfirst thing they do is activate their favorite fuzz box. Distortion has this magical ability to make even the finest handmade guitar sound like a pawnshop reject. 95% of gear demos are, for me, unlistenable for that reason.
Being a stubborn old traditionalist, I have to say that it's the rare guitar indeed that makes me look twice. This one does. It sounds great and the body shape isn't half bad.
Another great video Rich! I currently have an Eastman T59V & a John Pisano380. I’m thinking of selling them both to get a single semi hollow to cover all the bases. Do you think the T184 - 186MX or the Romeo gets a better jazz sound? I love my T59V but it’s so heavy. I’m an old dude! As well, I like the Pisano but it’s thinner sounding than I expected. Any input you could give would be greatly appreciated!
Awesome guitar. 14.75x1.75. Solid spruce top. I heard that they are going to bring an arch top version of this in the future. That will be awesome. Hopefully it will remain relatively thin for an arch top like AR603. Would love to check that out.
Rich, which light hollowbody would you suggest for primarily jazz combo work-the Romeo or the Heritage 525/530? To me, the 525 had a darker, more complex sound.
IF that guitar Romeo - was thicker - it might be fantastic for deeper tones as well as Chime ...the sustain and intonation plus the note separation ... But - I want it phatter, deeper too . For 2 grand.

The sweet spot to do 335 PLUS a bit of Benson Vibe ...is or seems to be 2.25" thick .....

I think have Lollar Imperial pickups , those are always chimmy, not my favorites , but you made it sound very good.
Bess jazz tone come off these. I personally don’t like woofy jazz tone. This sounds very warm to me and balanced
