Our most expensive player here was Keith Walwyn who cost the princely sum of £ 4,000 surely right up there as one of the greatest ever 'bargain buys' an all time legend with the City faithful Keith always gave 100% no matter what the match or score much loved and missed so much more. 🙏♥️
At the replay I was right by the linesman and I asked him why he disallowed whelan's goal while there was s break in play, he said ' you wouldn't be here tonight if I hadn't ' we won the replay 7-0
NOW,THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT! BEFORE IT WAS NEEDLESSLY OVER-COMPLICATED WITH MINDLESS TWADDLE AND STUPIDITY.LIFE IS SCREAMING OUT TO ME FROM THE GROUND.THE WHOLE PLACE IS ALIVE WITH THE SOUND OF MUSIC.THERE'S NOTHING STUPID HOLDING IT UP OR CONFUSING THE ISSUE.LIFE WANTS THE BALL,EVERYBODY WANTS THE BALL.LIFE IS RAMPANT TO THE FULL.IF I EVER SAW LIFE TODAY,IT WOULD TELL ME TO BUZZ OFF AND LEAVE IT ALONE.TEN MINUTES LATER,IT WOULD THROW ITSELF OFF A BRIDGE,IN THE DEPTHS OF DESPAIR.AW WHEN IT WAS SO SIMPLE AND JOYOUS,BEFORE WE CREATED HELL ALL OVER EARTH!
Did you see the bottle thrown from the reds fans which hit the York player's when City's late goal was scored. Their fans also invaded the pitch at the end starting fights and basically behaving like violent thugs.
You wouldn't let it lie. You had to dig up accurate facts. It's what cowards do. Dig up facts. Whelands kids have since denied the goal ever existed. Legally binding.
City had one of the best playing surfaces in the Football League this was in the middle of a freezing Winter which had lasted for many weeks literally dozens of City fans myself included went early morning as volunteers to clear many tons of straw off the pitch...it's what the tradition of the FA Cup is about.
Just love watching these old Liverpool games it just takes me back to been a kid
What we could do with a team of this quality NOW!! great memories of a very successful period for City.

That push forward in the terrace when York score 😲😲
Alan Hay got booked......why didn't Dalglish for the same incident??
Never ever understood why Martin Butler's classic strike was disallowed BY THE LINESMAN???
@@seanatkinson770 whelan's was worse !
I was at the game. The offside for Butler's goal was for an earlier offside before the ball went through to Butler's.
Lovely sporting gesture there from a Liverpool fan... 14:23
Scum fans that wasn't plastic either.
Totally agree mate! But not surprised one bit.
A câmera está na cobertura do estádio ?
The infamous Peter Willis. It wasn’t a sending off Peter!!
I was there. No way was Martin Butler offside for his disallowed goal - though admittedly it's hard to see why Whelan's was disallowed too.
whelans was offside as the goalie had come out, leaving only 1 york player on the line, but you need 2 of course to be onside (goalie and defender).
meisterly manu You haven't got a clue what you're talking about!
One thing for certain tho - The lino was consistent throughout that game - Woeful.
York goal never offside
@@raymondmcdonald355 Absolute shocker of a decision for offside for the York goal and I'm a Liverpool supporter.

York outclassed Liverpool here.
You may need to turn the volume up to listen to this recording well.
This game is Southampton vs Liverpool in club world cup
"Whatever it was, it's been disallowed" 🤣

Yeah Marxists land
Does anyone on here have the YCFC V Chelsea games from the Littlewoods Cup mid 80's?
I think I have a game at Stamford bridge - a defeat as I remember it - another month and I will start uploading some more videos.
City lost at SB 3-0 after beating Chelsea 1-0 in the first leg a Bootham Crescent courtesy of a Tony Canham goal.
The way the Liverpool fans are caged in that terrace is terrifying when you consider what happened just 4 years later !
Did you see the bottle thrown from the reds fans which hit the York player's when City's late goal was scored. Their fans also invaded the pitch at the end starting fights and basically behaving like violent thugs.
14:24 Probably why.....
It's weird to see this as a Liverpool fan who lives in york
SuNxExPO plastic
Not really. I'm sure there's a lot of glory hunting supporters in York
Well in york
HOW was Martin Butler's goal " offside" he was clearly ON SIDE 🫣🙄
whelans luck was alll in the league cup, he never scored in the fac.
Scored a beauty in the semi final against Man Utd to take the first match to extra time.
Pompy 92 semi

He scored 2 in the replay soft ollies
That pitch….. wow. I wouldn’t want to go arse over tit on that. Would be picking the scabs for a month.
