Wow..I just water bath canned 9 1/2 pint jars of cranberry sauce this morning!! Fun and easy and oh so yummy 😋 😊
So easy, so good!
Boy, that's a lot of turkey. Hope you have a big family, and tags that read "Open me before dinner". Of course, you will have to keep enough for the after dinner turkey sandwich....
I just wanted to say Thank You! I'm 61 and just started canning. its addicting! what I appreciate the most is the way you teach by using USDA rules. no rebel canning for me.
You can do this!
I love your channel! I have used your videos for many, many projects. Thank you so much!
Love this cranberry sauce and already on my canning list for this week.
God bless U, for all U do.
It is not easy, but U make it look so easy.
Thanks for sharing, and I usually use fresh cranberries, and a very easy and healthy recipe, I use.
Fresh cranberries, in a 1 Lb. bag, 2 oranges, peeled and sliced and 3 tbl. Spoons sugar.
Put in a blender for few minutes, and enjoy fresh.
Thanks for sharing, and Happy Holiday.
🙏🥰👍👏🌻🐿🍂🍏🍎🎃🍁✝️
Just made this!….I’ll NEVER buy store bought again! Delicious!
Soooo good!
After making mine last year, I said I would never by a can again. But when I can't find cranberries, I may have to do so. Homemade really is better than can.
I just picked up my cranberries at Walmart yesterday. I will make them this way today and then have them on my pantry shelf. Thank so much for sharing.
Always putting out great recipes! Thank you :)
Thank you!
I have made my version of the Ball recipe Apple Cranberry relish for years. It's requested every Thanksgiving. This year I will can it, ooooh yeeeaaaah!
Sounds great!
Great video. I made cranberry sauce a month ago (got cranberries at from Cranberry Fest in Warren WI in bulk!) I followed the Pamonas pectin recipe and it was amazing, and used half the sweetener!
Sounds great!
Canned 5 half pints and 2 pints of cranberry sauce yesterday. Canned your split pea soup with ham last week. Many thanks for the for inspiration.
Make my own every year. We use orange juice instead of water in the cranberries raw. We add the whole orange and a apple skins and all in the grinder. Sugar to taste. We don't cook it at all. It's amazing. Passed down from my grandmother. Now I know I can can it thanks to you 💋
Sounds great!
QUESTION… I’m disabled so lifting a water bath canner isn’t something I can do anymore. Would this steam canner work for anything I would normally water bath? If so it would allow me to once again can more things. Before our house fire and when I got hurt a few years later just out of our garden I would put up over 500 jars a year not including canning meats.
Now just to keep a few easy meals on hand I use a Carey canner but it can only hold 3 to 4 jars at a time so not practical for canning batches.
I started watching UA-cam and your channel in 2018 while recovering from spinal surgery. I LOVE your channel and how you inspire so many to learn to can and follow safe practices. I learned to can from my mom who would be over 100. Things sure have changed over the years. In a world where there is a lot of crazy and where it’s a challenge to find decent things to watch you are a blessing to me and many others. Oh I wish I had a neighbor like you. I still love to try to garden and can and no one I know has any interest. Thanks again 😊
ua-cam.com/video/CBisG9wqeE8/v-deo.html
YAaaas*** THANK YOU LEISA 👍❤️😉you know I’ve yet to try my little steamer canner. This would be perfect time to get comfortable with it🤔👍 Oh and YES* Love the Forjars canning lids. Need to order another case of each .
You and me both! My steam canner has been looking at me for over a year. I've made homemade cranberry sauce before, so this would be an excellent way to start.
Thank you for your video.
Six cups cranberries.
Nine cups water.
One cup sugar, (I use half cup)
Boil the snot out of the cranberries (that's the good stuff)simmer a while and mash with masher. Strain through cheesecloth for clearish juice or through a wire mesh strainer for the thicker Juice. (I like it thicker myself)
Add sugar stir and bottle.
You'll get about two litres of real cranberry juice and if you want the store bought "experience" with your juice, add lots of "water" and sugar. Water is so profitable and the sugar is the "fix", ... lol
The dehydrator is full of carrots and there's five quarts and eight pints of potatoes cooling on the counter.
I finally got my assets and did something.
But yesterday was good too with a dehydrator filled with apples and eight and a half pints of apple sauce.
Anywho, after days of not having a failure, one quart and two pints failed to seal, ... What's with that? (grumble, grumble)
The potatoes make the best home fries I've made in a while.
There's still thousands of pounds left in the field un-dug too. ... I'm tempted, ... They're the best potato I've caned in a while.
Have a great one and good luck.
Go gettum haha
yum,I need to make a batch putting on my list
Great video. I'm addicted to cranberries. Oranges are such a great touch to cranberry relish. I also garnish the top of the bowl of C relish with slice twisted for a pretty Turkey Day presentation.
I love cranberries and stock up every year on bags of them. I put them whole into a yellow cake mix, coat with sugar and pour into a tube pan then drizzle with glaze..yumm everyone loves it.
I tried something new last Thanksgiving. My vegan daughter requested my homemade cranberry sauce too be sweetened with Maple syrup...it was the bomb and the kids didn't even know :)). I love raw C relish too.
Just made this ready for tomorrow. I added a dash of chilli infused sherry i’d been leaving a few months to a couple of jars. Had a little extra so dropped it into a bowl for tasting and wow. Its awesome. Thank you! First time making it - first time w-bathing it.
You are right, home canned cranberry sauce is amazing!
Great recipe! I know salt and sugar is a serious concern for many people; everyone has to remember how much of this (your recipe today) are you eating in one sitting? Our Canadian Thanksgiving was very small this year (not many left) I had 6 for dinner - the four people that like cranberry sauce only put about a tablespoons worth on their plate. Going off those measurements, I have a lot of cranberry sauce. Love your videos, wish you well 😋
So true! Thank you!
Last year my cranberry orange and port sauce was so good I had friends eating it with a spoon from the jar. We have problem's getting any sort of cranberry here in the UK, so I only made 8 x half pints. This year I have put out the season alert- bring me your cranberries, if you want the sauce!
@@lat1419 - I put brandy in mine 😜
@@4themotherload whey-hey! Sounds goooood...
I just bought cranberries. I’m excited to try making them. My nana used to make them.
I've made this recipe before and love it. I used to made it with red wine but I can't handle that anymore.😄
Tried this a few years back for the first time. You are right. No going back now.🥰
It's the best!
Lovely! I am not making cranberry sauce this year, as I still have a couple of jars from 2020 and about 12 pints from 2021. I am not buying cranberries either this year as I went through my freezer and found about 20 packages that I froze back last year and the year previous. Good thing I vacuum sealed most of them!
It is now Thursday, November 3rd, made your cranberry sauce this afternoon, made five half pints and a little bit for sampling. It is awesome! Thanks for sharing:-\🦃🦃
Using my Grandmothers vintage steam canner😮. Its doesn’t have a dial on top & there is a steam hole on each side of lid. It’s aluminum & I’ve seen another one . Works great as start timing when u see full steam out the 2 holes
There’s one similar but it’s stainless steel & mine is aluminum.. heats u fast
❤❤❤❤❤love your charnel sooooo much 🙏🙏🙏.
Just in time for the Holidays 🍁🍂
I try.......lol
@@SuttonsDaze You are my go to Canning Queen 👸 for All things canning. Even my hubby quotes you… “Trust the Process.” 😃
P.S. Great Job on your weight loss Journey!
My mouth is watering.. love this good stuff.. I need to get more canned up.
Thank you for saying that about the oven heating! I didn’t know- won’t do it again🫣
I’m definitely going to make this sauce.
You've got this!
I just canned some up the other day!! Love the video!!
I always enjoy your videos. Thank you!
Thank you
Perfect timing, I just managed to get some cranberries! I’ll be doing them this week!
Perfect 🥰
@@SuttonsDaze Thank you!
Sounds awesome to can. I make a double batch for Thanksgiving and freeze half for Christmas. I add a jar of orange marmalade instead of sugar. It is a winner. Freezes great.
Sounds great!
What size marmalade jar do you use?
@@monicaanderson2899 12oz
Love cranberry sauce. Already bout my cranberries
Perfect!
Home canned cranberry sauce is so delicious!!
Scrumptious!
I’m so glad you posted this! My recipe is basically the same except I also add fresh ginger grated finely on a microplane or pressed through a garlic press. Do you think it would be ok to can with the ginger added?
I would think its ok
I am currently in middle of canning 58 cups of cranberries . ironic !
I did 22 pints total of the Jellied cranberry oh so good.won't be doing store bought any more.
Never going back! LOL
I have cranberries in freezer & love homemade cranberry sauce. Guess what I'll be making later this week? 😆
So good!
Can you substitute orange juice for the water, I made this for use for the holidays and I used orange juice instead of water just wondering how it will can . Thank you
What about using spices? They be ok for water-bath?
I love making this 😊
I love homemade cranberry sauce, my kids prefer store bought.
I just found cranberries in the freezer. Perfect timing!! ❤
Perfect!
Would it be a problem to add a cinnamon stick? I’m very new to this so it may be a silly question.
no problem
Beautiful
Easy recipe thanks Liesa
Easy peasy!
More for you!
Where did you get your steamer. Thank you
amzn.to/3DM3X5z
How much were your cranberries this year? I haven’t seen them yet or Turkeys. Los Angeles area. Anybody else?
Wait... WHAT cottage cheese? And I thought deviled eggs on a fall or winter holiday table was far out. Gotta love PHIL!!! I love cottage cheese but not on Turkey day LOL
I’m going to be doing this. Can you double or triple the batch? God bless
Yes
1/2 the amount is also fine as that is a lot of sugar, you'd be shocked how 1/2 the sugar will make an amazing cranberry sauce ~ But I'm not the FDA so what do I know LOL
can you substitute orange juice for the water?
Sure
Can I cab a Pork Roast with cranberry sauce, in the pressure canner. Linda
I wouldn't, at 75 to 90 minutes you'll destroy the cranberry sauce
@@SuttonsDaze thank you, I'm just learning.
Can you use honey in place of the sugar?
If you find a recipe that allows for it
Thank you for this video, I just bought cranberry's on sale and want to can them,
I have been looking at steam canners but so confused, what kind of steam canner do you use? Hope its ok to ask you this question.
amzn.to/3Dpk0ER
Is it safe to put your jars through the sanitize cycle on the dishwasher?
Absolutely
My canning with the elders is done for the year (amen)! I loved doing it, but thought I'd have to arm wrestle 1 lady about touching the juggler during cool down, 😆.
LOL
Forjars canning lids, awesome💞 100% sealed!! 218 jars total!
@@fourdayhomestead2839 The Best!
How long is this good on the shelf? Is it something that can be added to our preps or do we need to use it up pretty soon?

@@SuttonsDaze thank you so much
Can you start giving cooking times please
The recipe is in the description box
@Suttons Daze QUESTION.... Leisa ALL my canning books say cook (whatever ingredients) in a stainless steel pot...I don't have any stainless steel cookware. MUST I use them in the canning process or can I use what I have? Why do they say use stainless steel - is there any science behind this?
Aluminum is not good to cook in.
If you have non-stick, just make sure it's not chipped
@@SuttonsDaze ty so much for your reply. U R the bestest!!!
Question, life happened and my cranberry sauce cooled and set before I got it in the canner. Can I still process it after it has set? (Same day)
I would heat it up.
@@SuttonsDaze Thank you ❤️
Yummy
😋
What kind of enersion blender do you have? Looking for a new one.
Kitchenaid, its a beast
@@SuttonsDaze what series. I think that’s what I had a couple blendersback. The one I have now is way too small.
@@terryhuggins8529 I'm sorry, I dont remember
I probably have a silly question regarding this cranberry recipe.
Thanksgiving is just around the corner and the cranberries will be coming in. A few days or a week before Thanksgiving can I make this cranberry recipe and Not can it? I would like to just serve it up for Thanksgiving? Thank you.
Sure can!
@@SuttonsDaze … thank you for getting back to me so quickly…I appreciate it!!!
Oceanspray has downsized from 16oz. To 12oz. This year 😢
Last year too
I'm shocked the Lord of the Rings will get back to you I'm sure. I used to bug the hell out of them. It's why I call them Lord if the Rings. This recipe is so good the grands demand it. Those cranberries the first time I canned cranberries you could really hear them. Noisy things.
You and me both!
Cottage cheese?🤣
He loves cottage cheese haha
I love the homemade cranberry sauce. A couple years ago my mom and dad couldn’t find any of the jellied cranberry sauce at the store, but I had made some of that too. Made my Dad happy on Thanksgiving!
It's so good!
@@SuttonsDaze as you say…It’s AMAAZING!! Lol
I always make my own, and can never figure out why anyone would like to plop their cranberries out of a can!!! Thanks for the tutorial!!
NCFHFP might not have orange zest in their recipe, but Ball's recipe does. It turns out yummy and orangey.
This is why I follow Leisa, follows safe practices! Love from Oklahoma!
Love using this in cranberry/orange muffins. 😋
Valerie, how much to you add to the muffin recipe? I there a particular recipe you use? Thanks!
@@user-ln9wn8jg1t I just wing it. Put a little bit in till it looks/feels right. You’re the boss, applesauce!
I have multiple cases of new BALL jars with lids and have found A LOT of them with defective sealing compound. I have to check every one of them before using.
Ball lids have turned to junk lids.
I’ll have to try the zest of orange. I never liked canned store bought sauce. I use only 1 cup sugar. I like the tart.
I dice some of the orange into it, I also add some tiny diced pieces of apple and a small handful of diced walnuts. Yummy.
I made 5 half pints today and it’s not jelled. It’s more like a spread. So disappointed.
I have made this kind cranberry sauce for years. Why did I never think to can it?
Leisa, I just made this, and Oh My Goodness, it is divine! I’m going to make a few batches this weekend and will be sharing with family for Thanksgiving. Thank you! You are a great teacher and so much fun to learn from 😊
Doing this today, hope to have enough to do at least 24 jars. Yum
SO TRUE, I MADE IT LAST YEAR AND IT IS SO DELICIOUS 😋😋
Wow i eat cranberries year round
hello gtsy
So, when you open your jar, will it be Jellied? Or more of a sauce? I like the jellied to add to my turkey sandwich and just want to be sure, because I will be making this, this week TY TY I love your channel!
more jelled than sauce
@@SuttonsDaze Thank you :)
I have tried this recipe, absolutely delicious, never buy it again.
It's so good!
Duck 🤣
Yummy
What is the name of the water bath canner you used? I didn't quite catch the name.
amzn.to/3XQMxNa
Looks wonderful. I love canning cranberry juice. My mom would be over 100. She always made fresh cranberry relish (uncooked) with cranberries, peeled orange segments, sugar and nuts. Love your channel!🥰
I love canning and really miss gardening and canning like I did before I was disabled with spinal and nerve damage
❤❤
I have made homemade cranberry sauce for years, and you are right. It's delicious. BTW, orange is an acidic fruit, so it will only add more acid to it. Can't hurt it...............only helps it.
How long do you waterbath pints?
The link is in the description box with tomes and pressure for your location
Leisa, did you need to de-bubble the sauce before processing it?
No
I have 25lbs of cranberries coming in via Azure next week. I wanted to make more cranberry juice but I think I'll try a batch of the cranberry sauce. Everyone is raving about it. Thanks for another pantry staple recipe.
I've never liked commercially canned cranberry sauce. It took me a couple of years to talk my husband into trying it this way, now he wont even look at a can in the store. My mom puts orange and cinnamon in hers. I put orange in mine if we have them. Have you tried the Ball Cranberry mustard?? OMG so much better than the commercially processed brands.
Just finished canning 12 half pints! I had almost a pint left so I put it in the fridge to have with chicken and dumplings for dinner tonight. Love your videos, I've been binge watching for weeks now and I'm learning so much..
Thank you
I can’t wait to can this! I just ordered Forjars last night with your discount code. I have a few hundred Ball lids that I’m afraid to use since the seals on over half of my ugly chicken failed a few days ago. No siphoning. All done correctly. Ugh
Oh that's good stuff, I make it the same way and then for my adult children take out the skins and seeds, that is a process but so much better than store bought.
