- This video is all about the "Air Gap" in a OE type hydraulic throwout bearing. The OE type sprung bearing as shown in the video requires NO air gap, this is an Urban Legend and we explain why.
Mantic Clutches do require the correct amount of "Pre-Load" for the clutch assembly to work properly. When assembled we want the bearing to be compressed 1/2" to 5/8" (0.500 - 0.625) for best results. This allows for enough movement to accurately engage the fingers.

How many of you tried to mesure there air gap with a spring loaded.......
Forgive me for a dumb question, how can i assure i've given it 1/2" of preload?
