KayJulers I'm a new comer, and wow you convinced me. This was so informative and professional without spoiling anything, and i can't wait to dive into this beautiful game. Thank you for convincing me!
I’m a newcomer and when I played through the first 5 hours of the game (up until the start of the Bionis Leg), I didn’t really love the game and took a break for about a week. I decided to then come back and play more and man the game got so much better as it went on. Definitely one of the best games I’ve ever played
@@KayJulers Engage the Enemy and the Main Theme are my personal favorites! I know I'm super late to this video but I just finished the game for the first time a week ago
What is Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition and Why You Should Play It Answer: It's Xenoblade and you should just play it. But never trust Shulk, he will "backslash" you LOL.
I remember seeing this comic somewhere: Somebody is typing and ask Shulk what are the keys on the keyboard. Q: What is : Shulk: It's colon. Q: What is ; Shulk: It's semicolon. Q: What is / Shulk: (hesitateed) It's slash. Q: What is \ Shulk: (goes berserk and grabs Monado) BACKSLASH!
I think definitely one of the best aspects for Xenoblade is the environments. Despite the game being released on the Wii and 3DS with terrible resolutions, the environments were still breathtaking. And I think that still holds true for Definitive Edition. It's such a beautiful game, and the music sure as hell makes the environments all the more beautiful.
I 100% agree. When I saw Satorl Marsh and Valak Mountain at night for the first time, I was blown away. Artistic vision is always at the forefront for me. I can't wait to reach Valak Mountain in DE.
I'm buying the physical edition just so I can give it to my older brother when I'm done. I can't wait to hear about his reactions to all of the crazy twists
I recently finished it couple months ago and I loved it!! Great game and currently playing 2 right now. All we need is X on switch and they’re all here!
I really felt that sentiment while playing today. I've watched the cutscenes endlessly, but this is only my second full play through. I hope you're enjoying the game!
Amazing video, hopefully lots of people see this video, and maybe more people will join the franchise fanbase with this, like many did with 2 (whether from the artstyle to the Rex costume in Breath of the Wild (like I did)) Although one thing with the music worth correcting you on, the explicit wording stated rerecording more than 90, of an album of 91. Which means not just a large number, it means *all* of them, plus the new songs
The way Xenoblade engrosses you into its narrative and gameplay is what makes this game so good in my opinion. If more people gave this game a chance then I'm sure most of them would be hooked by at least the end of chapter 2
Easily one of the best JRPGs (if not games in general) ever made. Played the OG and was blown away by it. And now with the definitive edition I'm blown away again. A true modern masterpiece.
It's my 3rd favorite game (only behind Red Dead Redemption 2 and Life is Strange). Main reasons being that the other two are the only games that have made me fully break down crying, while Xenoblade Chronicles has only made me tear up.
You had my sub at "with an emphasis on xenoblade content" I haven't picked up definitive edition yet partly due to the last time I played Xenoblade being last year and partly due to lack of money. I absolutely love Xenoblade though and am excited to play the remake when I can
That was a great video! I am totally gonna replay Xenoblade 2 while I play definitive because of how the story goes not gonna spoil anything though those that have played now what I mean I'm sure.
Great Review, SO GLAD that I played Xenoblade 2 on the Switch! Loved that game and it got me into Xenoblade 1 Which I also Love. What an amazing franchise. Hopefully they'll port over Chronicles X to the Switch also.
I remember being so hyped for this when it came out for the wii in the US. My local game store only got like 5 copies, and I bought the first one. Unfortunately, the game was too much for me. I couldn't wrap my head around the combat and kept getting stuck. I eventually stopped playing video games altogether for many years and sold everything I had, but I just got an OLED switch and I'm excited to play some games again! I really want to give this one another try, as I feel I just need to get to a point where I'm comfortable with the combat and different systems within the game to actually progress through the story.
I got into the series via Xenoblade 2, actually getting the game the same day I got my switch in Christmas 2017. Since then, I've put over 400 hours into that game alone, making it one of my favorite games of all time. My boyfriend convinced me to play Xenoblade 1, along with X, and both of which I fell in love with. Everyone should play these games, in some form or another. Watching a playthrough (Like chuggaconroy's) is great and all (Especially his, Chugga is incredible), but it can't match playing through the game with your own two hands. If anyone is hesitant on picking up this game, PLEASE buy it, I can assure that you won't be disappointed.
Kay! Long time fan. I was also part of operation rainfall so I’m also a long time fan of this game. One note for you. The developers came out and said this is in fact a remaster and NOT a remake. They put more work into it than they thought they would, but it’s still a remaster. Also none of the music has been recorded with an orchestra but instead samples. Hope this helps. Can’t wait.
Hey there! Thank you for being a part of Rainfall and helping us all out. And thank you for the help! I use the word "remake" a little too freely with a loose definition, so that's something I'll be more mindful of in the future. 2 more days!
KayJulers I mean personally, this feels like a remake. I know that’s it’s not, but there have just been so many improvements and tweaks, not to mention the characters and environments. So it’s all good on my end, but you know how the internet is...just trying to protect a content creator I enjoy from the TROLLS OF THE WORLD! 1 1/2 days!
I'll be playing this game for the first time with this version. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is up there in my favorite games of all time list, and from what I've heard, Xenoblade Chronicles is looking to join it. I do have a question though: with such a banger of a soundtrack, should I start with the remastered version or the original music?
That's a really great question. I don't think you can go wrong with either from what I've heard so far. Maybe go through the game with the new soundtrack and then you can go back and experience the old ones on UA-cam afterward. It'll be interesting to hear the common sentiment after the game has been out for some time. I hope you enjoy the game as well!
I actually really liked playing with the Wii mote and nunchuck. It allowed you to move around and freely pick your arts at the same time during combat. It just felt more fluid. Maybe I'm just weird though.
Never played the 1st Xenoblade but now it makes me appreciate this game so much more since I started with X and loved it only to find out that 1 and 2 are so story driven that it blows X out of the water Seeing characters I actually liked oppose to ok characters in X made me really appreciate this original game, yes even Riki, prefer him over Tatsu absolutely hate him
I agree with everything you say, the xenoblade franchise is my favorite franchise of all time, more people need to play this game and thank you for trying to explain everything in this game, but like you said words can't explain how life changing this game is.
I've only got Xenoblade Chronicles 1, and I was wondering if the others are good. It's my 3rd favorite game, but I've heard that X and 2 aren't anywhere near as good. Should I get them?
i first picked up xenoblade x back in summer of 2016, I still have it and man I struggled with it, for me it was such a hard game at times, and i feel some of the systems havent aged the best but flying around in a skell for a while made me realize I could overlook some of the meh stuff for the great things the game offered. I decided to pick up 2 a few months after it came out and it blew me away, i have problems with it but it was there for me in a bad time and it gave me an escape to get sucked into, i spent hours tracking down different blades and grinding to get KOS-MOS specifically lmao. Then on Easter last year I picked up xenoblade 1 on the wiiu cuz i had heard it was one of the "greatest JRPGs ever" I didnt believe it but the last two blew me away so why not try it? I didnt get far, I only got to the Eryth sea, but I LOVED it. I dont know why but i put it down for a while, until we got probably one of the best Nintendo directs ever in my opinion, September 4th 2019. It was the last announcement we've gotten from a direct as of now lol but those first 3 notes absolutely broke me, I almost started crying when it showed shulk and my friend was asking "WHAT IS IT DUDE?" it was so memorable. I didn't pick up the original again until about a week and a half ago, my cousin asked me what game i wanted and i told her Xenoblade Definitive Edition. I played it, beat it, and I think it is one of , if not my favorite game of all time. Thank you xenoblade for always bein there for me, I hope new ones come out with consistent quality.
yea it's a subseries of the xeno games, but imo xenogears and xenosaga didn't age very well, and xenoblade has some small nods to them. they're still pretty good games.
I am more than excited to finally play the remake as I already played the original over 200 hours. I really miss the environment you'll be put in and the fantastic music attached to it like shown in colony 9.
I just bought the Definiive edition, the second game and the season pass because I liked Zelda and need sonething to play and it was all in Sale and I hope I like it. The scenery, the story, the exploration and many secrets look promising so I hope I‘ll have my fun!
the original xenoblade was already my favorite game of all time (and i played it on the low quality and clunky 3DS port of all things) and this remake improves on it in pretty much every way. i've already sunk over 120 hours into this within the first 9 days of release and i still plan on playing it for many more. the gameplay, the story, the environments, the soundtrack, the sheer amount of content and worldbuilding provided by the almost 500 sidequests throughout the course of the game, everything about it is even more fun than it was when i first played it half a decade ago. i've never fangirled over a game this hard and i probably never will again, it's just. it's really good guys tldr play xenoblade chronicles definitive edition for the nintendo switch
This is the first time I’m playing this beautiful game ur video made my nostalgia from watching chuggaconroys lp when I was in middle school come out and It made me but it instantly this is a staple rpg game every rpg fan or even for new players my girlfriend loves the story the game is just amazing if you don’t have it you need to get it next
Sadly I am not very good at convincing people to give something a try. But maybe I can convince some of my friends to watch this video. Than I'd have a better chance to talk to my friends about this masterful series
3:59 oh dang, using my favorite portable jrpg to make a point about my favorite console jrpg!? wish i could subscribe a second time! ps: golden sun part 4 WHEN NINTENDO
Do you think you'll be doing a discussion (or multiple, I suppose) on your overall thoughts on this game? I've been a long-time fan of the series (since 2012), but I only recently found your channel and love the things you have to say (I also just saw your 999 video, holding off on the rest of those until I play them myself) Got a little sidetracked, but I'd like to see what you think - about Future Connected and what the series may have in the future, as well as what was and wasn't changed
Let's put it like this: People often say that Xenoblade was one of the best JRPGs of its generation. I however would remove all those three qualifiers.
Great video man! I have a question I was hoping you could answer for me related to the battle system. When you have a vision of a near future attack what are some ways you can prevent it from happening? I remember having trouble with that in the original game. I know it depends based on the circumstances like you cant always use Monado Shield but I wasn't sure.
So there are a couple ways to counter visions. You can use the appropriate Monado Art like Speed for physical hits or Shield for enemy Talent Arts, inflict topple, shift the aggro onto another character that might take the hit better, or utilize the effects of some signature arts. I was reeeeally bad at using Monado Arts in my play-through, so I'm hoping to change that this time around. Hopefully this helped!
@@mickey3456 IIRC you get an achievement for every way of breaking a vision. One of them he forgot is killing the enemy before the vision happens. It’s often the harder one to get as it requires strategy or mastering the combat system, or pure luck.
Shunk & Fiona Rain & Sarla Duncan & Mehlia Rocki & Napons 8/10 IGN This video review is way better, from someone who actually played the game and can point what a masterpiece this game is.
This game kind of sneaked up on me. I bought this game with zero knowledge of xenoblade whatsoever. The only thing i knew about it was shulk being the main character, knowing him from smash bros. I had completely different expectations, think this was an action rpg. At the start i was kind off dissapointed thinking 'MMO mechanics in a single player rpg, tf ? I thought i had just spent my money on a game i was going to hate. I told myself i'm still going to keep on playing for at least 10h just to see where it takes me. Now, somewhere in those 10 hours i started to love this game and i don't even know what the tipping point was ! I'm 30h in now and can't even stop thinking about it while i'm not playing. Great game, fully recommend to any rpg/jrpg fan !
"lacking visuals" as a negative on the 3DS version... Somehow I disagree a bit here. While yes, the 3D visuals is a nice bonus exclusive to this version, having played both the Wii and 3DS versions, I feel they're both roughly identical aside from having a smaller screen and a slightly lower resolution. I still enjoyed the game to completion on the 3DS version just fine despite owning and playing the Wii version but stopping midway through. I wouldn't fully rule out the 3DS version unless you're EXTREMELY particular wanting full HD visuals with higher-quality models, then of course I'd recommend the Switch version... which is honestly going to be the most common version to find in this day and age anyway.
I'm honestly the same way. It feels harder to start a new single player game the older I get, but I'm hooked once I finally sit down and start it. Hopefully you enjoy it once you get around to playing!
Im sad i was so hyped to play my first xenoblade game But amazon delayed my copy of the game and i cant get a refund to buy it at a store so i have to wait 4 more days
Hey Switch users, I'm one of the players who was fortunate enough to play the original Xenoblade Chronicles on the Wii when it first came out. I know that some of you are new to the Xeno series, and especially this game, so I want to help you out, one player to another. If you need any help on side quests, or other information about the game, then I recommend that you check out xenoblade.fandom.com. Here's a link to the side quest section of the game. xenoblade.fandom.com/wiki/Quest_(XC1)
US really got the short end of the stick this time around huh, I guess that would be to blame to how much Xeno is perceived inside the main Nintendo HQs, if you look at Nintendo Europe's twitter account they fucking love the game
Gotta say, I am so glad that I din't own a new 3DS XL so that I wont play this game on those graphic.. the (fiora face lol) The remake on switch is sooooo good
So many lies in 1 video so many liars in a single comment section I got so hyped for it. I thought i'd be getting into something cool and amazing.. I hate it all. After 1 through torna The ost is cool. I ..weirdly.. love the voice acting Its everything BUT the gameplay that's cool They should have just made an anime Hell i'd take a walking sim. The environment artists are wasted
I hope we get a bigger fandom with this game being released.
Amen to that. I have high hopes for this game performing well!

the original xenoblade was already my favorite game of all time (and i played it on the low quality and clunky 3DS port of all things) and this remake improves on it in pretty much every way. i've already sunk over 120 hours into this within the first 9 days of release and i still plan on playing it for many more. the gameplay, the story, the environments, the soundtrack, the sheer amount of content and worldbuilding provided by the almost 500 sidequests throughout the course of the game, everything about it is even more fun than it was when i first played it half a decade ago. i've never fangirled over a game this hard and i probably never will again, it's just. it's really good guys
tldr play xenoblade chronicles definitive edition for the nintendo switch
"Everything about this game is perfect"
There, saved you 15 minutes
I am sold. Gonna get this game soon👍🏻
I appriciate the golden sun reference
Sadly I am not very good at convincing people to give something a try. But maybe I can convince some of my friends to watch this video. Than I'd have a better chance to talk to my friends about this masterful series
DAMMIT SHULK! You didn't even bite the sandwich, how can you know its taste?!
i aint got much to say so im just commenting to increase engagement
Once I finish dragon quest I'll get on this one I've always thought the smash stage looked so sick.
Just play it if you are not sure. Truuuuuust it. Oh my god, this is such an omega good game...
I'm currently taking a poopsie in a jar when I'm done I'm going to go and try and buy the game. Good video bro
3:59 oh dang, using my favorite portable jrpg to make a point about my favorite console jrpg!? wish i could subscribe a second time!
ps: golden sun part 4 WHEN NINTENDO
I'm so excited
Do you think you'll be doing a discussion (or multiple, I suppose) on your overall thoughts on this game? I've been a long-time fan of the series (since 2012), but I only recently found your channel and love the things you have to say (I also just saw your 999 video, holding off on the rest of those until I play them myself)
Got a little sidetracked, but I'd like to see what you think - about Future Connected and what the series may have in the future, as well as what was and wasn't changed
Yeah, it's my favourite game now.
Because it's a masterpiece.
Just watched your video and it's insta sub for me. I'm glad I discovered your channel. Btw. You have a great voice and pronunciation as a UA-camr.
I'm so glad this game will be experienced by a lot more people. I'd consider this game the modern video game equivalent to Lord of the Rings.
Even as someone who is a bit dead inside, I feel pain from having to wait 36 hours for this.
This version of the game is better in every way. Everything is better, even the music!! I didn't know that was possible
Alright, this video convinced me
Let's put it like this: People often say that Xenoblade was one of the best JRPGs of its generation. I however would remove all those three qualifiers.
Comment for the algorithm.
Love your content.
Also awesome video Kay
Didn’t finish 2 yet and got the remaster and I love the battle system more in the original 😭
@@KayJulers Thanks bro, can't wait for Friday.
@@mickey3456 IIRC you get an achievement for every way of breaking a vision. One of them he forgot is killing the enemy before the vision happens. It’s often the harder one to get as it requires strategy or mastering the combat system, or pure luck.

8/10 IGN
This video review is way better, from someone who actually played the game and can point what a masterpiece this game is.
I wouldn't fully rule out the 3DS version unless you're EXTREMELY particular wanting full HD visuals with higher-quality models, then of course I'd recommend the Switch version... which is honestly going to be the most common version to find in this day and age anyway.
please please play this game !!!!
whats the music around 11:45?
Once we part ways, it’s beautiful isn’t it?
@@dipshitsiclethemighty3054 one of my favorite songs in the game yea
I’m just here cause of the xenoblade breathe of the wild dlc crossover
Man, the uncanny valley is strong with this one.
did anyone see alvis' necklace
Does anybody know the song used at 11:40?
Once We Part Ways
Nathan Palmerton thank you
The jewelry store!!
I bought this game a long time ago and have yet to dive into it. Idk why I always have a hard time starting a brand new game
I'm honestly the same way. It feels harder to start a new single player game the older I get, but I'm hooked once I finally sit down and start it. Hopefully you enjoy it once you get around to playing!
@@KayJulers thanks! Just started yesterday and have left colony 9 to find metal face. Loving the game (and the music!) so far
great video!
Im sad i was so hyped to play my first xenoblade game
But amazon delayed my copy of the game and i cant get a refund to buy it at a store so i have to wait 4 more days
To bad, I thought that was going to happen to me but my copy actually came a day early. Hope you’ll enjoy the game once you get it though!
Never 100% the original because of quests finding & wii batteries now I have more incentive to do so because of easy accessibility & qol changes
Im really feeling the wii’s graphics
Hey Switch users, I'm one of the players who was fortunate enough to play the original Xenoblade Chronicles on the Wii when it first came out. I know that some of you are new to the Xeno series, and especially this game, so I want to help you out, one player to another. If you need any help on side quests, or other information about the game, then I recommend that you check out xenoblade.fandom.com. Here's a link to the side quest section of the game. xenoblade.fandom.com/wiki/Quest_(XC1)
Wish I would have seen this earlier 😓. I just finished the game and it took a lot of learning lol.
NO DISLIKES!!! I LOVE IT!
This is gonna be my third time buying Xenoblade Chronicles. I'll do it again if I can find a European collector's edition at a good price.
US really got the short end of the stick this time around huh, I guess that would be to blame to how much Xeno is perceived inside the main Nintendo HQs, if you look at Nintendo Europe's twitter account they fucking love the game
i like throwing that wiimote haha
Oh yeah
Alright I’ll buy it. Fuck
6:47 LOL Wii U
Gotta say, I am so glad that I din't own a new 3DS XL so that I wont play this game on those graphic.. the (fiora face lol)
The remake on switch is sooooo good
Rushed the story in 45 hours....I just wanted to know what happends...will play it slower someday
Did you play on easy or something?
People saying graphics aint that nice, MAN SHUTDAFUKUP
better than before/10
Spamming arts won't be the best strategy. Laughs in Shulk and Melia.
So many lies in 1 video
so many liars in a single comment section
I got so hyped for it. I thought i'd be getting into something cool and amazing..
I hate it all. After 1 through torna
The ost is cool. I ..weirdly.. love the voice acting
Its everything BUT the gameplay that's cool
They should have just made an anime
Hell i'd take a walking sim. The environment artists are wasted
This game was amazing
The exploration isn't really that good tbh
Is it just me or the world feels more like many maps in one game
Pretty sure MOST games are just many maps in one game. I believe that's known as a Semi-open World.
