@DC-bp8sx thank you for your comments. Sadly within the last month, the lady who owns Artista Soft has sold the business. She's 88 years young and has decided that it was time to sell the business. Hearty Clay is still available here in the UK. I hope to contact the new owners and then share their website details in due time.
It's a very easy way to mix the same colour time and time again. Hearty clay is certainly one of my favourite paper clays too. Please check out my other videos about clay, especially the freezer technique. Thank you for your comment. 😀
@@MixedMediaArtsAndCrafts Thanks for the tip. I already knew this from other crafters. But that doesn't matter. I'll watch your video anyway. I think your videos are great and have also subscribed to your channel.
Thank you for your kind comment. If you want to paint your piece, then always wait until the piece is fully dry (normally up to 24 hours). If you wish, you can gesso your piece before applying any acrylic paint. I hope this helps answer your question. 😀
Hearty clay should be soft when you get it out of the packet. If it's not, then I'd say your pack may be a few years old. Once air dried, you can't really soften it again. I hope this answers your question. If you have any further questions regarding the clay, please feel free to ask. 😀
Hello 😊. Thank you for the awesome tutorial! I just have a question. The first time I used hearty white clay, it was very sticky and stretchy. It actually wouldn't stay inside my molds. I like how it's light in texture but I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. Is there a way to prevent any of this? Or was it that I got a bad batch? Thank you
Hello and thanks for the question. Hearty clay (white) is sticky and stretchy by nature. What i tend to do is grab an amount from the pack, roll it out and let it dry for between 10 and 15 mins. After that time, it's easier to work with. When putting it in moulds, press it down into the mould, rather then pushing it it from one side. I hope this helps, but please feel free to ask if you have further questions. I'm always happy to help. P.S Gills Live was fab today, wasn't it😀
@@TimelessArtistryByMiriam please be sure to take a look at another of my videos on clay, about putting it in the freezer whilst still in the moulds. It's been a game changer for many people😀
@@MixedMediaArtsAndCrafts I’m aware of the freezer trick. I usually flex my molds and give a little wiggle. Sometimes I'd use baby oil to help release my clay molds if it's a brand new mold or I know this certain mold will give me trouble. But thanks anyways 😊
@@TimelessArtistryByMiriam be careful with using baby oil, as this can then coat the clay and make it difficult to paint. Other than that, you seem to have clay work all sorted. Thanks again for taking the time to comment 😀
Hi there I am going to Japan soon, I wanted to ask you if you consider hearty good enough for modeling Anime figures or real humans (comparison to monster clay or sculpey)? Thanks!
Hi there, yes this clay will be perfect for Anime figures. I'd suggest making a wire skeleton underneath it. The clay although made in Japan is available worldwide. 😀
@Samojede the clay is also used by people who sculpt dolls faces. So yes, it will be good enough for human faces too. Please remember thar the thicker the clay the longer it takes to dry. There will also be about a 10% shrinkage of the size of the clay as well, once dry. 😀
This clay is horrible in that I always over knead it! It's so soft and pleasant to touch, I always end up just kneading and kneading it in my hands, zonening out until I notice it crumbling. 😅😅 It's such a sensory happy material, just mixing the colours is a fun activity. (If the clay gets too dry, just add in some distilled water, it will be soft again. Or make slip and paint with it! Also, you can mix it with enough water to make it fluid enough to use it as a moulding paste, or even put it in a piping bag. And you can even soak paper or thin fabric in it, and sculpt with it. (I once used it to stick my bf's home's skirting boards back to the wall. They kept popping off, and nothing would stick to the rough plaster. This clay however managed to keep them in place for almost 3 years now! ) I love this clay. So many uses. Great for xmas ornaments or earings, as it's super light!
Thank you for sharing all your top tips on this fabulous clay. It is indeed a fantastic clay and can be used in so many different ways. Thanks for commenting 😀

Brilliant, thank you so much . Can’t wait for my moulds to arrive :)
Thank you Elaine, can't wait to see what you make 😀
Love using this clay to work with . Thank you for the great recommendation ❤
You're very welcome. Hearty is the best paper air drying clay out there and Artistasoft is a great company to buy from 😀
I like hearty very much and am quite amazed that it is so easy to mix the colors with the scale. Greetings from Germany

Thanks for the awesome video. Well, can we paint the white artwork with acrylic color once it's dry, or before it dries?
