Old Copper Coin Finish ~ Step by Step Painting Guide

Paint a statue to look like an old copper coin. In this step by step tutorial, I’m using acrylic paint to create a finish that looks like an old copper coin. The statue in this video is made of concrete, but this technique will work on any statue.

What a great tutorial - straight & to the point & every piece came out amazing..
question, is there a reason why you wet the concrete item first? Is that just so the paint is much easily absorbed ?

Thank you so much! The paint bonds better if the statue is wet. If you paint dry concrete it will sometimes flake off like the statue repels it.

I’ll have to try it..I’ve done the bronze / antique effect previously pretty much same process as you, but yeah I did find the paint sometimes come up off the piece so it’s a great tip to wet the item first 😊
