All the comments saying they were driving to fast are hilarious.. Its a fire dept. Would you want them going to the speed limit to get to your house that's on fire? I wouldn't. A fire can completely in gulf a house within minutes. Every minute counts so the sooner they get to the call the better the chances of them saving someone/pets possibly trapped or the victims belongings/house. They have lights and sirens for a reason. As long as they do it safely then they should be going as fast as possible. Emergency responders are just that, EMERGENCY responders. Faster they move the more they save.
+jeepguinness Our station 2 of which Raleigh Engine 23 responds out of is located around the corner on Pinecrest Rd. In this particular instance, they were on another call so Engine 29 was dispatched in their place. The normal dispatch to this area for a residential alarm is Engine 23, Ladder 9, and ourselves. Hope this clears up any confusion.
Well besides, if I'm not mistaken, fire trucks are already equipped with heavy duty brakes. But yeah they use the engine brake too sometimes. Depends on the driver and/or department tho. (Or the truck.)

Also they have had serious training to be able to drive like this.. Atleast here in Denmark we do.
Quick! My house is burning! Take your time. No seriously. Take your time. Only the mother-in-law is trapped inside.
Actually, every second matters
I'd rather they get to my house and not crash en route. There's a reason why we have EVOC training.
DId anyone else go shit its gunna be close at around 2 min 50 lol nice driving :D
Damn. Haulin ASS!!!!
AMAZING !!!
They sure did lay on that air horn
love it when they over use the air horn! sounds great
SCBA Thats the best siren you remind me to play a firefighter game :D
An SCBA siren? (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus)

Thanks for the support!
Wow ! That was nice video but a scary ride. When I drove we had to stop at all red lights and then proceed with caution. Stay Safe
+K1ZEK Scary ride indeed!
I must have missed something. Not scarry at all.
which fire department was this?
+Bradley Arseneau Durham Highway
Raleigh, NC
I bet they go through brakes allot driving like that
+mmutk Brakes are a cheap problem to have when your whole goal is to safe lives.
i believe they can also use the engine brake for some stuff or a combination of the engine brake and normal brakes
Well besides, if I'm not mistaken, fire trucks are already equipped with heavy duty brakes.

Is it just me or were they going awfully fast?
+George Rinaldi It looks that way, but it's only because the Go Pro has such a wide field of view.
+George Rinaldi I agree with you! They were going to fast!
+George Rinaldi +Johalvancouvar The positioning and wide frame of the GoPro makes every one of our videos look faster than they actually are
B. Mills Oh k! Do you work for that fire station?
Told you!
