    When I started playing again a few years ago, had golf elbow in my left and eventually my right elbow. I was "grounding" the club too much and trying to hit with my arms. After a few cortisone shots and a revamping of my swing, I now am pain free and thanks to your methods, hit it farther with less effort! Thanks for your videos and guidance!

      Any golfers elbow is cause by the person hitting with the arms. I have cured countless people with golfers elbow over the years. Once they stop trying to hit it finally goes away. Glad you found me and learned it. No fun playing in pain.

      Well, you need to change how you think and know it will work. This is what I did many years ago. I trusted it. 3 practice swings later I got it. I had worked on positions and had a pretty goo looking swing though. Turning the arms off was my last step.

      So that would be hitting with arms. Need to let the energy go from the arms and switch to legs and hips as the power source. Watch this one and try to make this the power source:

    Yep I use one of those "golfers elbow" things. now that I am starting to swing with the body, my elbow has stopped hurting...my left wrist is still sore but I am hoping taking a few days off practicing that too will start to fade. Any thoughts on why my left wrist might be getting sore (yes I am a right handed golfer). Thanks Paul, LOVE your videos and you technique is really helping me rebuild my swing after a 10 year layoff!

    • @paulwilsongolf
      @paulwilsongolf  3 роки тому +1

      That's great. I have had so many students get rid of those over the years. If anyone has one of those you know for a fact they are hitting with arms. The wrist could be sore because you are actually hinging and rehinging now instead of having them all locked up. You are not used to it. I would keep doing the grip and this drill to get used to it. If it keeps hurting then you may be doing something wrong.

    This I can relate to 100. I have to go to an Accupuncture once a week because my elbow is in so much pain. It gets worse after a round of golf because I can feel my grip is hard. I can also feel me pounding the ball. I will try it this weekend. One full bucket. What is that app you have again? I might need it

    • @paulwilsongolf

      Yes, you need to start working on this asap. You heard me "arms like butter " with all clubs. That is your goal. You turn them off completely in the down and through swing. You power it with your legs and hips. Master this drill first: ua-cam.com/video/cVhtL-d1B9Y/v-deo.html
      My app is called CoachLink. Golfers are loving it. This would have been great when I was learning the swing many years ago. Would have saved me a lot of frustration.

    On the backswing coil do you need to have some sort of engagement with the arm muscles to prevent excessive breakdown of the left arm? I feel if I just let my arms go floppy it affects my shoulder turn so is it a case of just letting your arms go on the downswing? This is a grey area for me I can't get my head around. Cheers Paul. 👍🏻

    • @paulwilsongolf
      @paulwilsongolf  3 роки тому +1

      Do not confuse powerless arms with floppy arms. Powerless arms is you not hitting or helping the shot in the downswing. Of course, you are setting it as you go back. You are coiling and hinging going back. You keep working on this until it goes there on its own. ua-cam.com/video/KZAj2Bk8Roc/v-deo.html

    Problem is, I'm now kind of too loose, so I'm swaying and I'mbending the left arm at the top and overswing.
    Do i need to tighten up again? 😅

    • @paulwilsongolf
      @paulwilsongolf  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks. Yes, you can get too loose. Keep in mind powerless arms is in the downswing not hitting or helping the shot with the arms. You are doing floppy arms which is not what I teach. You need to go back to setting the top. Here is the position: ua-cam.com/video/KZAj2Bk8Roc/v-deo.html Set the top. This means you are feeling your arms as you are working on this and mastering it. Once you do they will go there on their own. Do lots of practice swings in a mirror.

      Not sure if you can even do it. To hit it that far you need to really fire the lower body with loose wrists. Age? Experience level? Do you have the positions looking pretty good? etc. etc. You need to do this drill every night: ua-cam.com/video/lUOLMl_zmek/v-deo.html

    I'm definitely an arm hitter and have both elbow and golfers elbow and it hurts after every round or range session.
    I've been trying to develop a lower body swing for a long time now and its very difficult since I'm upper body dominated.
    Is there a set up tip that will automatically help with this? Also, I know swing thoughts are bad, but what is one swing thought that can really lead to a better less-armsy swing?

    • @paulwilsongolf
      @paulwilsongolf  3 роки тому

      The bigger you are the harder it is to get. I have had great success with many larger students doing this drill. You need to do it for a while though: ua-cam.com/video/eyR514QvAoI/v-deo.html The more you take out the arms the more you would have to use your body for power. So take it in stages. Get the arms out and stop trying to kill it. Yes, you are not going to be the hero just yet. You get used to this feeling. You are swinging easy. Once you have done it enough and you have stopped trying to kill it you give it a little more power but you do this by firing your legs and hips a little bit. Get used to this. Now you are hitting the ball almost as far if not as far as you hitting hard with the arms. The final stage would be driving ever harder with the lower knowing this is your power source. If you start hitting it thin, topped or slicing it immediately go back to 50% and build it up again. Here is the other drill: ua-cam.com/video/cVhtL-d1B9Y/v-deo.html and this is good to get your hips moving: ua-cam.com/video/RdphthCQ9VM/v-deo.html You can do it. Just follow the steps.

    Great video, Paul, as always. A question regarding this video, specifically pushing off of the trail leg. I was always taught that this would lead to inconsistent shots, and that you should rotate your hips and push off of the ground with your lead leg. Your comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for the video.

      I teach 8 different triggers. Some are left sided. Some are right sided. You coil and load to the back instep. Once loaded you need to trigger it how you can trigger it. Not everyone feels or thinks the same so I give everyone choices. It is a turn and shift at the same time. If you just shift or just turn that would be inconsistent. That is not what I teach though. This one should clarify:
      ua-cam.com/video/7z5eUcSwlSk/v-deo.html
      Then here is the most popular trigger people choose:

      Paul, I just purchased your body swing series, and am hoping it articulates your 8 different triggers. I play left-handed, and have been taught to try to initiate the transition by using the muscles of the lead leg. I found your video about the sore arms because I am experiencing golfers' elbow of the trail arm. Hopefully your methodology will help me with that.
      I think your video about the 2/3 swing is ingenious, if not extremely difficult to execute. Will give it a try. Thanks again.

    • @paulwilsongolf
      @paulwilsongolf  2 роки тому

      Thanks for your support. I appreciate it.
      You can find the triggers in the book. Locking the lead leg is one but that not may be the one for you. Try others and find what gets you to position 1. I love teaching lefties. Something about swinging left handed that just looks better. I like lefties to draw it so do a slightly stronger grip as you loosen the wrists. This will get the spin. Then work body for the path.

    Paul, I’m having trouble keeping the weight on my back swing on the inner part of my foot. I have practiced the “bounce” and can do that, but when it comes to the actual swing I feel the weight transferring over to the other edge of my back foot. Would you recommend trying a very subtle “bounce” in my actual swing until I get the feeling, or how do you recommend fixing this error?

    • @antoniogallo5433
      @antoniogallo5433 3 роки тому

      My thought is I am dropping (or turning) my hips and knees in the back swing too much - causing me to roll over my back foot. I’m very careful and meticulous about the one piece takeaway, but feel my hips and knees may creep around too much in the coil. What are your thoughts?

    • @paulwilsongolf
      @paulwilsongolf  3 роки тому +1

      Let your shoulder coil move you hips back. Then the hips will pull the knees into position. Do this to stabilize the lower: ua-cam.com/video/7WI3rpsfTEs/v-deo.html then crank your shoulders to coil. You will see the lower will be pulled into perfect position.

      @@paulwilsongolf You should give it a go! I turn 63 years tomorrow, doing a keto diet and feel great! I just play better when i walk (and carry)...it makes the game feel more natural. The walking and thinking is enjoyable. Plus I can do your loose wrists drills as i walk. Jumping in and out of a cart can be distracting. Take care.

    I have A strong grip. is that a problem to adopt your swing?

      I don't really like is because if you have loose wrists you will hook every shot. Once you are sick of hooking it you will usually lock up then blow it right. Then it becomes army golf. I promote a neutral grip so you can have loose wrists and not have any other compensations in your swing. You need to watch this first: ua-cam.com/video/Hh_uALjl_jk/v-deo.html Read the comments from people who have changed. Then if you are ready you can learn the neutral grip here: ua-cam.com/video/jQZLp8bF-Ww/v-deo.html It is up to you. I prefer not having to practice all the time.

    Dear Paul, if we dont use the arm power, how we can do the hinge and rehinge at release, please advise. Many thanks

      You are manually work on hinging and rehinging the club until you can do it. Then you are not thinking about it. Keep in mind powerless arms is in the downswing not the backswing. You need to work on setting the club. Once set, you are not hitting or helping the shot coming down. If you have trained yourself to hold on securely with loose wrists then this arm unit should work just fine. Watch: ua-cam.com/video/Z8K3Gctkz7A/v-deo.html

    You don't look like you use a "one piece" take away
    It appears you use your arms in your backswing then use your body to unwind with the arms following.
    I enjoy watching you swing

      Never heard that one before. In no way do I take it back with my arms. If anything I am too late in hinging it going back cause my arms are so powerless. Maybe this one will show what I do better: ua-cam.com/video/TFjh9dGkZXA/v-deo.html
