  • After two weeks of testing and a week of straight shooting, here are my thoughts on the Fujifilm X100VI. What is the hype all about and is it worth the upgrade? In this video, you will see a load of sample photos coming straight out of the Fujifilm X100VI with no edits applied; just JPEG photos with Fujifilm X100VI film simulations.

All photos in the video were JPEGs straight out of camera without any editing, just a variety of film recipes! What do you want to know about this camera?

Which recipe did you use at 3:05-3:08? Love the warmth

@@tylerk927 It looks so good doesn't it. It would've been either Kodak Gold or Vibrant Arizona: fujixweekly.com/tag/vibrant-arizona/

Awesome video as always! The only person I know that puts in this many example images in their content. Thank you!

My use cases for my X100F (now X100VI) and Leica Q3 are pretty much the same. It’s when I’m going out to some type of event, photo walk or hang out with friends and know I will be intentionally taking photos. These cameras are just too big to carry around as EDC when I’m out for a quick errand which means they are cameras I don’t use as frequently as I’d like. Thats why I carry a Canon S95 in my pocket as an EDC because it’s easy to get unplanned shots. I wish Fuji would make an X70 successor! Nice video!
Another thing you touched on were the film simulations which I love! But, I use canon for my professional work and a combination of Fuji and Leica for my personal work. I expect consistency in colors across all my content so I almost never am able to just post the Fuji images SOOC on social media. They are still great though!

Have you thought about a Ricoh GR3 ?? Recently got one myself and it's an amazing cam for grab and go.

@@Johnny641 yes! I actually had one for a long time and loved it but got rid of it after traveling with it and getting so much dust on the sensor. I was really hoping for a GRIV this year with weather sealing and was wishing for the pop up flash back from the GRII. Great little cameras!

Yes, that's the great thing about these small cameras like the X100VI. They're great EDCs and perfect for things like events, when hanging out with friends, and to take photos you wouldn't normally take with your professional camera. Thanks for the support!

Hey Stefano, big fan of your work. I was hoping to get your opinion as to whether an XT5 or A7iv would be better for portrait work?

Hi, be honest I have the 100 V when it first came out and I’m happy with it. I will not be upgrading it. It’s a fun camera to use. I’m happy that other people got the opportunity to experience it. I don’t need all the extra megapixels. I have plenty of other Fuji cameras that I can use with the extra megapixels. This is a personal camera for me the 100 V. I use it just to fool around take family pictures and of course JPEG don’t have to edit. Nothing it is great. Great review.

Thank you! Yea I've also been testing out the X100V at the same time to compare them and yea if you have the V and you don't care for IBIS and the slightly better video features, it's not worth the upgrade! From the X100F definitely worth the upgrade haha

Hello, this was a well composed video. Thank you for the upload. What film recipes were being used for these shots of Anthony? They look pretty great in our opinion. Specifically the shots at 3:03 and 4:02. Or were they a preset you sell? Thank you.

Thanks for the support! I do have my own portrait presets that work on Fuji and all other systems but those photos specifically we're shot with the Kodachrome 64 recipe!

Hey this may seem random but Does the button on your evf/ovf lever feel loose to you? Also does it spin around? I just got my x100vi and can’t find anyone else with one to compare it to.

    • @StefanoLombardoYT
      @StefanoLombardoYT  3 місяці тому

Hey! I believe the lever button is supposed to be like that, not sure why, but this one and the one on my X100F do the same thing. They're not loose but spin around and almost feel squishy, as if there's some play. If that makes any sense, it's definitely not a firm button like any of the other buttons on the camera! Hope that helps!

I finally have my pre-ordered X100VI. I do also own a Sony A7 IV. My question is: Does the Fuji X100 VI have the Soft Skin Effect, like the Sony A7IV???? Please can you check on it? I can't find it on the X100VI.

    • @StefanoLombardoYT

It does have "soft skin" when building out your recipe! You can turn it on or off.

Being able to shoot 1sec exposures handheld is a giant leap for street photographers too. Having the ability to capture implied motion while maintaining a sharp subject, or keeping your ISO at a manageable level are both significant changes as well.@@StefanoLombardoYT
