  • The Roaring Twenties were a time of cultural upheaval that also impacted the church. While modernism transformed culture, liberalism transformed the church. In this message, Dr. Stephen Nichols looks at the historical context of J. Gresham Machen’s Christianity and Liberalism with a view to the current challenges facing convictional and confessional Christianity.
This message is from our 2023 Winter Conference, Machen’s Christianity and Liberalism: 100 Years Later. • 2023 Winter Conference...

„That‘s what we do, we tend the garden that‘s in front of us as humble servants of God, knowing that we are in Christ as we do it“! THANK you for this great encouragement! Hope to get Machen‘s book in 🇨🇭! 🙏

coincidentally, I happen to be reading Machen's Things Unseen at the moment...p.s. the transcript has a mistake in writing EXTRA NOUS. It is the Latin extra NOS, meaning outside ourselves. NOUS is the Greek word for mind

Unfortunately in these days, the church has bed became very complacent about sin, about holiness, and about our great salvation in Jesus Christ

**Note: in the Scriptures, we are told that God is Love and God in Christ, is Truth. The Left is doing all that they can to destroy God’s character by attacking these 2 issues. “You aren’t loving like Jesus…”. “I have my Truth and you have yours….” (Each attack is a “twisting” of Scripture and God’s divine nature.)
But, guess what? Their attacks don’t affect anything about God, because He is the same, yesterday, today, and tomorrow. That is what we must remember. Like Ayn Rand said, “You can say there is no truth, but you will still experience the consequences of denying it.” That’s why you don’t have to argue with the “broken-hearted”to get them to believe. “There are no atheists in foxholes”. Jesus said He came to SAVE the lost…the “lost” know they need help. The only way to fight the good fight is by Faith. 1 John 5:4-5 We are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, for God’s glory, alone. Don’t feel too bad….it’s a time of strengthening of our “inner man”, as Paul called it.😅❤
