  • Controlled "grazing" feeding of hay similar to natural grazing
The video explains how it works and how I came about it in our very first Video" buck you Leo" you and get a glimpse of it in the paddock with the ponies
This is a hay feeder I designed a few years ago, after much testing I built 2 prototypes "bag types" and sent one to snug rugz and the other to Bail Buddy to see if they could make them for me. This would give me and the boys something to sell when we went to a show and to help pay the expenses, as well teach the boys about free enterprise "you will never be a millionaire on a wage" sorta thinking. To make a long story short nothing happened and the prototypes where never returned. Now there is a lady in 100 mile slowfeeder.com that is selling a similar feeder ??? go figure
What's the odds of after 1000s of years of feeding horses that some one else in the same province invents the same thing ???

What a good idea! The ponys look very happy and it will keep them busy during the day.

What a great idea! I will absolutely be trying to make something like this, thank you very much for the video. I hope my horses can nibble all day, they're all such gobblers..

Keep an eye on your ponies' teeth (enamel wear) and gums (tearing). Unfortunately ALL types of slow feeders can cause problems for certain horses - so you have to check their teeth/gums every month or two.

You can make up the pattern for this and sell the pattern? I would purchase it.

    Hi,
What was that black box in the horse's water? I couldn't hear you because of the water running.

What happens when it rains. Does the water sit in the bottom?

+Judy D Interesting question, shame he didn't respond. Its a great invention/idea but I think this could be a problem. Although, nothing wrong with soaked hay, infact its better but soaked in rain water is probably not so great and after a while hay can rot or it may freeze so yeah, good question.
