i use them both i like them both. the difference that i notice is that when i use the API one it makes my water very cloudy for the first 15-20 minutes but it goes away pretty quick. the clarity does not make it as cloudy so it makes it look like the clarity is better but for me its about the same. i get whichever is on sale.. but since i added purigen on my canister i have not needed to use clarity or accu-clear
Thanks for sharing your experience. I keep seeing people post about Purigen. I may have to do more research on this as I have not had great success with it. Thanks for watching and your feedback 🤘
What I did a long time ago was put a uv sterilizer on my tanks and I've never had a algae break again in any of my tanks . But good information. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching. I looked at UV. But decided to play with lighting and nutrients to see if I can learn how to get the ecosystem balanced. So far I’ve made progress but we all know it’s not my last outbreak. 🤣 Glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks !
Seachem Clarity Made my amano go crazy, had to do a water change, used accu clear 10/10 results ! Also, just like your video, I only saw a little difference regarding crystal clear water with seachem clarity, accu clear is the way to go and makes a huge difference! your video will save a lot of time and money to new hobbyists!
I’m currently experimenting on my 125g that is under filtered. I used API AC on first dose. It formed a huge cloud like Stability did in your experiment. AC actively worked throughout the day clearing and fogging and then cleared up significantly after several hours. The following morning, it reverted completely and was just as cloudy before I started dosing. At this time I added an overpowered gyre pump and applied a second dose of AC. The tank is as clear as it’s ever been since I started it 4 months ago. The gyre runs for about an hour in the morning and again at night. It been a week and time for my first water change after starting AC. I can confirm that even after creating massive amounts of particulates into the water column after every gyre run the AC is still very active and capable of clearing water quickly. For those that may not have success I would suggest adding additional current and surface agitation to see if changes your results. For my current set up, the gyre is absolutely the key to ACs success until I can add additional filtration my tank needs.
Thank you for sharing your story. Filtration is the key. The API Accu-Clear can only work if you have fine mechanical filtration to catch it. Glad to hear you achieve invisible water. 🤘🤘
👍 my water is always clear, I do a soil (gravel clean) once a week into a bucket 50% water removed and that stops algae on the glass. My tap water pH is of the scale 7+ so I combine the water from my dehumidifier which has 5/6 pH or I add pH down. Maybe next time do 50% water change by doing gravel clean and then adding the chemical to clear the water, it may help speed things up.
I may have disrupted some beneficial bacteria when I cleaned me tank last week, along with a deep clean of the sand, it made my water very cloudy. After a week it’s much better but still very hazy especially when looking at the tank from the side…I think I may go try some AC
I wonder if my APi has lost its effectiveness. My water is still cloudy and I use the normal dosage with fresh filter floss. Used to clear up in hours.
I wud go with clarity as the overdose wud still be fine and normally tanks wont be that dirty in non living landscapes but its clearly stated that… prevent high dosage in the api
Too much of either would be damaging to the system. But, I suspect API has a stronger flocculant and may be the reason for the warning. Just my guess though. Clarity does state to clean the filter after use and the strong flocculants are the reason.
Help i did this and also used api proper ph 7.0 and top fin ammonia neutralizer, and now my tank is super foggy, cloudy and there's like milk power like everywhere, is that what they call bacterial bloom and what should i do? Will it kill my fishes?
Cloudy/milky water is generally a bacterial bloom. It shouldn’t kill your fish. I recommend doing a 50% water change immediately, and if it clouds again the next day, another 50% water change. Do this daily until it stabilizes. In the future, try not to mix multiple products all at once. Space them out and do one treatment type per day. After a few days of water changes you should be back at a state where you can let it sit and test kit the water daily to see what is going on. Don’t worry about using any products during this water change schedule. You’ll be removing anything harmful as you change the water. You should be fine, and remember, when in doubt, swap it out! (Water)
Hi there ! am quite new to fish keeping , from what I've learnt is that bacterial bloom is happening, you should leave it alone and not do any water changes. This is because the other milky cloudy causing bacteria is having a battle with the beneficial bacteria that youre having in your tank. If you were to add new water into the tank , it will supply the nutrients needed for the milky clouding bacteria to grow which will just cause more issues with it. It is because they will use the new nutrients found in the fresh water to propagate themselves. Not trying to correct anyone but its 2 different concepts I am hearing from and am equally confused.@@ssaquascapes
That’s the problem with hobbies on the internet right? Multiple opinions on how to do “X”. 😁 What I try to do on this channel is simply show what works for me with video proof. My water could be vastly different from anyone else’s water so results may vary. I would say it’s best to watch different opinions, try a few different solutions, and find out what works for you. Most importantly, remember to have fun exploring this hobby! Thanks for watching and participating in the discussion 🤘
I saw that both your tanks had horned nerite snails in there. Are they able to survive these chemicals? I have both red cherry shrimps and nerite snails, which is why I have not tried either brands.
I have not had any casualties of shrimp or snails using either one of these products and I used them often until my tanks balanced out. I would imagine if you overdosed you could have issues though.
Can you put it together? I’m changing 50% water every 4 days with my 15gallons tank. And planning to put anti chlorine and this accu clear together as it is always cloudy
In my testing I did add one after the other around 12-14 hours apart. I would not mix them at the same time but I saw no adverse effects of following up one product with the other.
API acuclear was the only one that actually worked for me and didn’t cleave a yellow residue over all my filtration
Thanks for the feedback! API FTW!

Thank you. Seems API is the clear choice among most aquarists.

I use API Accu-Cear all the time well needed it works a treat, Thanks for a verry nice video and hi from the UK.
Thank you. API seems to be the clear winner! Cheers! 🤘
This was a great, thanks for sharing the process!
My pleasure. Glad you enjoyed it! 🤘

I’d have clearer water if I stopped over feeding (getting better at that) 🤣
I'm using ACCU CLEAR and it's perfectly clean the cloudy water and very fast
Just used Accu-clear again yesterday and clear within hours. Good product 🤘
@@ssaquascapes yes exactly .... less than hours
Love that video bud 👍👍👍
Thank you! 🤘🤘
Api Accu Clear would work with my bacteria bloom. I need to try this. M
Give it a go! I use it for any cloudy situation.
API has always worked for me. Even better is purigen. Never a problem again and Rechargeable!
I haven’t had luck with Purigen but maybe no using enough of it.
@@ssaquascapes also the cloud shows your aquarium flow pattern.

In fact I’ll make a UA-cam short of a before and after,
A lot of people say you can’t use these on bacteria bloom but I disagree as you see. Give it a go. Should work out fine!
Looking forward to it

The product goes have an expiration date. If it is close to that date , maybe it lost effectiveness. 🤷🏼♂️
Fair, great video.
Thank you. 🤘
Awesome review. Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching.
@@ssaquascapes I have used both API Accu-clear and Seachem clarity and I too have found that the API works much better.
I will be trying more API products in the future too and seeing which brand I prefer. Stay tuned.
I am surprised API did a much better job than Seachem !! Wow .. Tks for sharing
I was too. But API is all I use now.

Great , this British guy MD fish tanks used this products all the time 👍
Yup, MD is great!
Thank you mate ❤
My pleasure! Thanks for watching!
Good job 👍🏾
Thank you 🤘
Entonces el accu-clear es mas rapido pero el clarity da mejor resultado???? Creo eso entendi
I use only accu clear
Accu-clear is all you need.

I definitely think the experiment was fair. I use some Seachem also. But the API definitely beat the Seachem on clarity.

U sold me on which clarifier to go with!!! Thank you!!!
Sweet. Thanks for watching! 🤘
Tried them both and had same results. API wins.
API is often discredited cause they are in big box pet stores, but for me, their stuff just works. 🤷🏼♂️
API products are very good to solve problems within your aquarium if water changes don't help.
Yup yup! API for the win!🤘

Do I use ready tabs for your plants in the 75?
I don’t use root tabs anymore as the waste from the bass seems to be enough. It is a well seasoned tank and the substrate is full of mulm.
Do you still put anti chlorine when putting Accu clear?
If during tap water, yes. All accu-clear does is remove suspended particles in the water.
Can you put it together? I’m changing 50% water every 4 days with my 15gallons tank. And planning to put anti chlorine and this accu clear together as it is always cloudy
Yes, you can add them both together. 👍🏻
Thank you really for your reply. Lastly. Can you use this accu clear even in water cycle?
@@marklim4741 yes, you may add it when setting up the aquarium or first fill. 🤘
I've never had a flocculant clear algae bloom, no light works for me every time.
A small particle is a small particle. Give API a try and solve all your cloudy problems!
(Man they really need to sponsor me). 🤣
I have both as well, and I must say….API work much better…
Yup! Seems the consensus is API FTW! 🙌
I've used both in the past. The API is much better in my opinion based on my experience of using both.
This seems to be the popular opinion across the board.

mi clarity tiene un color cobre intenso. es así? gracias
Sí, ese es el color normal de Clarity.
Can you use these both together.

Can use accu clear for kitchen water tank?
Not sure what you’re referring to, but if for consumption, I would not recommend using API Or Clarity in your water.
Did the Accu clear harm or killed any of your fish?
Nope, not at all. Unless you really go crazy with dosage, both products are safe for fish and shrimp.
Clarity is better
I haven't had the same results. But that's why we have different options in the hobby!
If you're going to double dose to compare a product do it with the same product not 2 different products.
Ok
Pozdrawiam serdecznie fajny odcinek powodzenia 👍
Dziękuję
Seachem Clarity is useless, a complete waste of hard earned money.
Still have the Seachem test bottle in the cabinet. Meanwhile, I’ve bought 3 more bottles of API. 🤘
My personal opinion. Is accu clear works way better.
Seems to be the consensus
Save 15$
💴
Fix the problem and you won't need the chemical but its human nature to get instant satisfaction.... lol
But API did fix the problem. Ah ha! 🤣
Neither of these products are gonna fix an algae problem. You have other issues going on. 🙄
It worked though. 🙄
Api kick ass
🤘🤘
You need a UV filter
Just need more experience. 🤣
Clarity doesn't work it's waste of time and money
Agree
Seachem is a better brand than api
In some products I agree. Their lab research is top notch too. But, when it comes to water clarifiers, it’s API for me. 🤘
Seachem often fails me.
