There’s only one Church that I’ve been to that doesn’t pass the offering plate/basket. But, they have an offering wooden locked box at the back of the congregation people to put their offerings if they so wish but they are not allowed to write their names on the envelope; therefore, the pastor won’t know who the donors are. Most don’t give and only a few give money. But most give fresh food and other tangible items to the pastor to support him & his family. The congregation also share lunch together every Sunday after Church service through potluck and I must admit that the food is very good.
As for tithing I felt inside my heart that something wasn't right. And the passing of the plate has always affected me. So I sat down and prayed and asked God if I was right to show me but if I was wrong to show me. When the plate was passed around I passed it right by me without putting anything in it. Literally 5 minutes after leaving church I crossed paths with a man who was stuck and lost his wallet and needed a ticket for BART to get back home. The way he was dressed and his whole mannerism led me to believe that he was telling the truth. The next day I ran into a little old lady at a bus stop as I was living in San Francisco at the time and did most of my travel by bus because of parking issues. This lady fell in love with my daughter's dog and at one point she looked at me and said I'm so hungry can you help me get a hamburger or something. So once again I so did to this woman's life. After the third time in 24 hours that I had an encounter like this I added the total I gave away which ended up to what I've been told I was supposed to put in a collection plate and pay for the pastors salary and the rent and the light bill of the church and everything else they spend the money on.. I ended up moving to Santa Cruz and once again started my tithing. Looking back now I think I was looking to gain acceptance. I've felt a lot more welcomed when I'm feeding the collection plate with you tithes and offerings. In fact I was on my way to church to pay my tithing one morning and I parked in the parking lot and was walking to the office with an envelope in my pocket that had several hundred dollars. I seen a homeless man sitting on the curb across the street and felt the urge to go speak to him. When I approached him I said. Hi my name is Lenny I was just getting out of the car and the Lord wanted me to come over here. Immediately he cut me off. I don't want to hear about the Lord and I don't need your preaching or your prayers he was very angry. Very vile cussing a lot very angry with me and full of hatred and wanted nothing to do with me or God When he got done speaking I continued and said God wanted me to come over here because he seen you right where you're at and he wanted you to know that he loves you and said that you needed this. At this point I handed him the envelope. When he opened it up he broke down crying. We spent probably 30 minutes together and prayed together. He even prayed for me and my children. I was so excited about what had happened I posted it on the Facebook page of the church. It was removed and I was blocked. The pastor said I was out of control? I think when people see that God loves them and stops hearing about it that they might want to know more
Please read my comments above. Also, why does it have to be an either or scenario? The scripture talks about giving to the poor as well as to the household of faith. A principal like this can be found in Galatians 6:10. And absolutely minister should be supported, one Corinthians 9 verses 6:14, one Timothy 5:17. Two Corinthians chapters 8 and nine, Philippians four, etc. This is Squirrley thinking. I’m glad you had those awesome experiences and that the Lord was working in it, but it does not mean that your church didn’t need support or that your pastor didn’t need support. And really, it’s not even about the need or lack there of but about the honor, even double honor, that is do those who labor in the word and in doctrine, one Timothy 5:17. I don’t know why people will give to charity causes, even every once in a while to homeless, but grumble gripe and complain because The church is to be supported and we teach on it because it is scriptural. It’s not right. It’s dishonorable and wrong. It’s a stingy spirit and it is not of God. please read one Corinthians 9 verses 6:14, Galatians 6:10, one Timothy 5:17, etc. and hopefully it will give you a new perspective. Yes there are some flakes in the ministry, but so many of them are awesome. I have been in the ministry for two decades and trust me I have gone to churches and did not even get an offering. I have never one time taken and offering for myself and I have worked secularly, but this idea that ministers should not be supported is absolutely unequivocally dishonorable and wrong and people who believe and teach this apart from repentance will be in trouble with God.
Why do people have to be paid a salary to do pastoral ministry? There are many people who minister to me who have regular jobs. They are a lot more humble than the average preacher in the pulpit.
There are none in the Netherlands. If you have a problem you can go to Canada. Pastors don't get paid. I got sick of having to get the money in w 3 kids and an unpaid pastor who gave Bible school, fixed everyones marriage, in debth ministry, pay the rent, from my part time job. He didnt want to quit the church and stop serving these stingy rich for free. We couldnt get free help and had no money to pay Canada, so we divorced and the church quit. Bye. A woman in a church lately whined that they started too late. Guy said: shut up. We all work here for free. They don't even have a pastor. Most don't. Too stingy? No food, just like the Levites returned to their field.
@@PastorJamaalFrancois we have to read the Bible with out twisting it to our own liking read the whole book of Malachi study it diligently ask God to fill u with His holy spirit so u can really understand that no not one pastor who claim to be shepherding God's flock should be getting paid for what they are doing for Christ..read Micah 3; 8-12 what the priest and prophet and judges were doing was a sin. And when u read 1corinth.9 he was talking about food in the old testament they were worthy of their food not money and the food was shared between the levite the widow and the fartherless they were never paid with money read Matthew 10;10...read Luke 10;7 I have lot more scripture if u like to share with u to show pastors are not to be paid..and money existed from way back in the old testament..God bless u and hope u read and ask the Lord for understanding 🙏🙋
tHEYRE CALLED hIRELINGS. PAID TO PREACH. The hired hand is not the shepherd and does not own the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it.
”Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and doctrine. For the Scripture says, “You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain,” and, “The laborer is worthy of his wages.”“ I Timothy 5:17-18 NKJV ”Even so the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should live from the gospel.“ I Corinthians 9:14 NKJV ”Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give. Provide neither gold nor silver nor copper in your money belts, nor bag for your journey, nor two tunics, nor sandals, nor staffs; for a worker is worthy of his food.“ Matthew 10:8-10 NKJV
1 Corinthians 9:18 What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel. Luke 10:7 And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.....food & drink & double honour are the reward, not money.
Double honor is not double salary. Do not muzzle the ox refers to missionary evangelists receiving room and board as they travel. Not a salary. Those who preach of the gospel should live by the gospel .means gospel principles . Grace and faith. Not the law of tithing . Not a salary. “ should the church teach tithing” by Russell Earl kelly explains and refutes every scripture you highlighted to support ministers getting a salary.
Thank you for this! God has been telling me this for a long time but there are few people who will agree with this. Sometimes I feel very alone because those I am in contact with do not believe God when I tell them what He says.
Same. No person should ever monetize in any form off the name of Jesus. Our response to his grace is undefiled worship. It is an impossibility to worship a holy God in a holy way when $ is exchanged in any form. If we teach or preach, it’s because we love him and our neighbors. To then ask them for their $ is a filthy rag.
I’ve also been shown this. Jesus sacrificed his body for our salvation. There is a term (and it’s not good) for someone who sells someone else’s body for his own profit, which is exactly what EVERY paid preacher does.
@@southernbelle2732 we are not to argue over the truth and if anyone is a pastor they are worthy of the wages which is food can give u all scripture to show u..God bless you🙏🙋
I've understood the wine as love and the wineskin the heart. The old wine being our love. The new wine being God's love. We cannot put God's love into our hearts because they are corrupt. So we need to allow God to renew our heart so it can hold God's love.
That is amazing. Where are you located if I may ask? I want to attend a real church, I spent my life, growing up Southern Baptist with the pastor driving fancy cars while my single mother tithed away while we struggled to eat or have bills paid. It always disgusted me that no one ever helped us when my mom's heart was in the right place.
Curtis Fink that's all they are. I know over ten people personally that discovered how easy it was to fleece the flock, and they all became ministers. Not to help the people, but you make some money off of the people.
Jesus told the Samaritan women," "That the time is coming and now is when the TRUE worshippers of God will worship Him in spirit and in truth". You do not need a pastor for this. Current pastors want you to be dependent upon them. God wants you to be wholly and souly dependent upon Him. Big big difference friends. And these ones will be known as the wise virgin's because they knew where to get their lamps filled continuously. Wake up elect bride of Christ because time is short!
Thank you for sharing. I realize that there are pastors who use the Bible honestly and others who conveniently use certain scriptures for their personal benefit. The blind flock do not question those who have leadership responsibilities. I am a musician and I could write several books on my experiences with dealing with my professional profession and religious people. I’ve recently made a decision that I only take orders from Yah regarding me playing or singing in any church. Apart from that I stay in my music room, play my piano and praise Yah.
That a person who labours in the vineyard of the LORD can earn money from his labour for God but not in covetousness or greed. But simply to serve the LORD.
Your exactly right!!!! I've felt this way for years, but when one tries to make this point among "Believers", it's almost as if a blinder comes on. The best advice my mom ever gave me was to read the Bible for myself. I ask the Lord to give me discernment and His meaning of what He means, and since then my eyes have never been shut to His gospel truth. Thanks for your willingness to speak up. We need more true men of God like you!
@TheGospelReader Also in 1 Timothy 5:17-18 where it says "Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine. For the scripture saith, thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward." A true labourer is not false. It seems that Micah 3:11 is about false prophets & opportunists who set their own prices, but a true labourer is rewarded by the people, as where 1 Tim 5:8 states.
Someone who works should get paid, but ppl don't, so a lot of evangelical churches in Holland have no pastor. You get a dumb talk on sunday from sister so and so. Need help? Go see a psychologist or something. My ex did it years for free, Bible school, everything, til I got kids and collapsed. Bye. Be a fabulous housewife, be pregnant all the time and get the money in so the filthy rich can be served for free. Aint nobody got time fo that.
The scriptures I have read on paid ministry call it 'Priestcraft' and it's considered evil. Admittedly many in the business are good and kind people but there it is.
1 Corinthians 9:14 (ESV): In the same way, the Lord commanded that those who proclaim the gospel should get their living by the gospel. Luke 10:7 And remain in the same house, eating and drinking what they provide, for the laborer deserves his wages. 1 Timothy 5:17-18 Let the elders who rule well be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in preaching and teaching. For the Scripture says, “You shall not muzzle an ox when it treads out the grain,” and, “The laborer deserves his wages.” It must be reasonable of course and not excessive.
Absolutely. I cannot for the life of me believe how many people are liking this video. Absolutely crazy! I hate to come with a low blow, but in my judgment it is simply stinginess. That’s all it is. I have been in the ministry for two decades and I can tell you that I have preached at places where I did not get an offering at all. So if I were in this for the money I would quit. We don’t do this for money, but absolutely we are to be supported. People can like it love it or lump it. They don’t want grumble gripe and complain when they go to the doctor and get a bill… But yet people want to receive eternal spiritual realities and expect to just get everything handed to them without them bringing natural things in return… Absolutely amazing! It is simply dishonorable and I would not want people with this kind of prevailing attitude in my church. I would not run them off because maybe the seed of the word would get to them, but these sorts of people are problem people I need to be dealt with and they need to repent. That may be strong, but it’s true. It is simply a stingy spirit that wants to give honor to everything and everyone but a genuine Holy Ghost field man or woman of God. I have no sympathy with it whatsoever. neither do I have any respect for it. I also ties and give to my local assembly so I do not teach people to do anything that I do not do myself.
What about when Jesus said the laborer is worthy of his wages…and Paul says in 1 Timothy 5:17Let the elders who rule well be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in preaching and teaching. 18For the Scripture says, “You shall not muzzle an ox when it treads out the grain,” and, “The laborer deserves his wages.” Can you explain this?
I have always believed that preaching is a calling, not a profession. No preacher should make any more than the poorest in their own parish. How do you take money from people who have so much less?
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has no paid ministry. Everyone please GOOGLE Mormonism And Church Finances/ No Paid Ministry-FairMormon. The one TRUE Church of Jesus Christ did not have paid ministry 2000 years ago, and it still does not have a paid ministry in these latter days
Oh really Robert? Hmm. Tell that to them Mormons who work for the LDS church full time and get paid a salary!! They come into my dealership and buy cars all the time. Man stop drinking the Kool aide.
@endtimesareuponus8930 yes, but the Bible allows the workers of the church to be paid. I use to think the way you do. Now that doesn’t mean they should be making millions, living in mansion with maids and butler, or driving expensive cars at the expensive of the congregation. Lbvs
Is it wrong if I make money from the Christian books (Theology + Apologetics) I am writing? I don't want paid for ministry, speaking, debates , etc I just want to show up and do it well for Gods Glory.
What about the following: 1 Corinthians 9:14 In the same way, the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should receive their living from the gospel.
1 Corinthians 9:13 & 14 is talking about food not money. “Do ye not know that they which minister about the holy things live of the things of the temple? And they which wait at the altar are partakers with the alter? Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel?” The “things of the temple” the ministers lived from was food. The tithes and offerings under the law was food. Before the great commission (Matt 28:19) there was another commission where Jesus sent the twelve to preach the gospel (Matt 10:5 - 10). The only difference is they were first sent to the lost sheep of Israel as opposed to going to teach all nations. In Matthew 10:10 the Lord instructed his Apostles that the “workman is worth of his meat”. The word meat in the Strong’s means nourishment.
Dan Abbuhl, the apostles NEVER received not even one shekel as salary. The one TRUE Church of Jesus Christ has no paid ministry. Everyone please GOOGLE Welfare Mormonism And Church Finances/ No Paid Ministry-FairMormon

@TheGospelReader I like your video perspective, however isn't there a difference between the roles of apostle vs. pastor?Paul was an apostle who traveled to spread the gospel to the world, but a pastor is a shepherd over one congregation, to stay put, as would as a shepherd watching over his flock of sheep. Wouldn't these 2 roles be different in capacity?
All the more reason for that pastor to be able to support his own family. Especially in light of 2 Thessalonians 3. Pastors today fall under the disorderly (not earning their own bread) and busybody category. Both of which are to be shunned in the assembly. Not honored.
Matthew 23 New King James Version (NKJV) Woe to the Scribes and Pharisees 23 Then Jesus spoke to the multitudes and to His disciples, 2 saying: “The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. 3 Therefore whatever they tell you [a]to observe, that observe and do, but do not do according to their works; for they say, and do not do. 4 For they bind heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. 5 But all their works they do to be seen by men. They make their phylacteries broad and enlarge the borders of their garments. 6 They love the [b]best places at feasts, the best seats in the synagogues, 7 greetings in the marketplaces, and to be called by men, ‘Rabbi, Rabbi.’ 8 But you, do not be called ‘Rabbi’; for One is your [c]Teacher, [d]the Christ, and you are all brethren. 9 Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven. 10 And do not be called teachers; for One is your Teacher, the Christ. 11 Buthe who is greatest among you shall be your servant. 12 And whoever exalts himself will be[e]humbled, and he who humbles himself will be [f]exalted. 13 “But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men; for you neither go in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in.14 [g]Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. Therefore you will receive greater condemnation. 15 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel land and sea to win one proselyte, and when he is won, you make him twice as much a son of [h]hell as yourselves. 16 “Woe to you, blind guides, who say, ‘Whoever swears by the temple, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gold of the temple, he is obliged to perform it.’ 17 Fools and blind! For which is greater, the gold or the temple that [i]sanctifies the gold? 18 And, ‘Whoever swears by the altar, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gift that is on it, he is obliged to perform it.’19 Fools and blind! For which is greater, the gift or the altar that sanctifies the gift? 20 Therefore he who [j]swears by the altar, swears by it and by all things on it. 21 He who swears by the temple, swears by it and by Him who [k]dwells in it. 22 And he who swears by heaven, swears bythe throne of God and by Him who sits on it. 23 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone. 24 Blind guides, who strain out a gnat and swallow a camel! 25 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you cleanse the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of extortion and [l]self-indulgence. 26 Blind Pharisee, first cleanse the inside of the cup and dish, that the outside of them may be clean also. 27 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness.28 Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness. 29 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you build the tombs of the prophets and [m]adorn the monuments of the righteous, 30 and say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.’ 31 “Therefore you are witnesses against yourselves that you are sons of those who murdered the prophets. 32 Fill up, then, the measure of your fathers’ guilt. 33 Serpents, brood[n] of vipers! How can you escape the condemnation of hell? 34 Therefore, indeed, I send you prophets, wise men, and scribes: some of them you will kill and crucify, and some of them you will scourge in your synagogues and persecute from city to city, 35 that on you may come all the righteous blood shed on the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah, son of Berechiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar. 36 Assuredly, I say to you, all these things will come upon this generation. Jesus Laments over Jerusalem 37 “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under herwings, but you were not willing! 38 See! Your house is left to you desolate; 39 for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!’ ” Footnotes: AS TOLD BY THE CREATOR GENESIS 1
I don't know if you'll read this it looks like you posted it about 12 years ago. But think about this. This is something that the Lord showed me that is really intense. I was in a Bible study with about six people and this happened to me at the same church in Santa Cruz. The pastor was with us in the group. There was one gentleman and I don't know his personal situation or anything about him personally but he had told this younger kid three times that "it's okay to be rich" After the third time of hearing him speak this I said "who are you trying to convince, you or him?" I proceeded to say I see two accounts where Jesus ran into people who were rich, one he told to sell everything he had and come follow him. The other when he went into the man's house it doesn't even say what Jesus said in that house but the man was so convicted that he decided at that moment to give away half of his wealth to the poor and payback anybody he'd take an advantage of many times that amount. Again A story of Lazarus and the rich man. It doesn't say that the rich man didn't accept Jesus or believe that Jesus was the Messiah it didn't even say that the poor man accepted Christ as his Lord and savior. It had an example of two people one had good things on this Earth and the other didn't and the man who was rich on this Earth was now in hell The pastor didn't say anything about my comments but he did end up making a reference to somebody that he knew that wanted to be a teacher but he needed medication for bipolar or something. In my spirit it felt like he was dismissing my behavior politely in front of this other man. That didn't bug me but the man trying to feed things into this young believer that were his opinions and not truth really bugged me but I didn't say anymore. It was later that I realized this man was very wealthy and he paid his tithing and is offerings and he was a main supporter of that church. It was then that I realized how many pastors out there are afraid to speak the truth because if they speak the truth and people get offended and walk away and find another church they will be taking the pastor's paycheck with them and then the pastor's going to have to do what they tell everyone else to do which is trust in HIM to provide their needs
And when the rich man gave away half of his wealth to the poor and decided to pay people back it's then that Christ said "Today salvation is coming to this house" It wasn't after a sinner's prayer or confessing all his sins or accepting Jesus in his heart as his Lord and savior. This man heard the truth and seen exactly who and what he was and made a decision to change When Jesus told the rich man to sell everything you got and give it to the poor and come follow me it made me think "follow him where? Where was he headed?" He was headed to lay his life down for others It even says in Acts when they were all of one heart and one mind and considered none of their belongings their own but they shared everything that God added to their numbers
If my pastor stopped accepting a salary, I'd tell him, "No, you are taking some kind of payment from me for your duties." Any church that doesn't pay a pastor *_something_* , some kind of stipend, the pastor not even bivocational, then that church is being disobedient to God's Word. *_First Corinthians 9_* makes it plain that pastors should receive some kind of material benefit from their preaching. Also, *_Galatians 6:6_* also says, "Let the one who is taught the Word share all good things with the one who teaches." Churchgoers have an obligation as part of their Worship to God to pay something to their pastor. A church shouldn't set out to make their pastor rich, but at the same time, he needs to free to do everything expected of him - hospital visitations, leading church outreaches, mission trips, retreats, etc., apart from putting together sermons - while able to provide for his family too. A pastor having to work full time outside of the church will of necessity not be able to make as many visits to sick members or lead as many mission trips. I would leave a church and find another if I had a pastor not accept payment from me. Such is directly opposed to Galatians 6:6.
1Corin: 9:17-18 For if I do this willingly I have a reward, but if against my will a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me, vs 18; what is my reward; then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without ( CHARGE) that I abuse not my right in the gospel.
ACTS 20:35 In everything i showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words of the lord JESUS himself it is more blessed to give than to recieve
@endtimesareuponus8930 Money isn't evil. The love of money is what leads to evil. Money doesn't desecrate. That's a very Gnostic idea which holds that if it's matter rather than spirit then it's bad. All Scripture is inspired by God, and Galatians 6:6 and 1 Corinthians 9 make it clear that pastors are to be paid. Again, a church ought not to set out to make a pastor rich; that can lead to a sinful love of money.
@endtimesareuponus8930 It says pastors are to make their living by the Gospel. In the modern world, you need money to make a living. It is a sin for a church to make a pastor rich, but it's not a sin for him to make enough money to support his family and be freed up to lead the various ministries in the church. Yes, all Christians are to minister, but the pastor of a church is to LEAD the others, and he can't do that if he's having to work a second full-time job as well as having to pastor.
Your reference to one Peter 5:2 is out of context. Filthy lucre is not the same thing as a love offering. Please consider the scriptures that I have given. One Corinthians nine verses 6:14 is abundantly clear about this. I certainly acknowledge that there are preachers who are in it for the money, but there are many who sincerely love the Lord and love his people and if you do not believe that they should be supported, you are dishonorable. You do not have honor for the ministers of God. those who labor in the word and in doctrine are to be counted worthy of double honor. I did not make this up. One Timothy 5:17 and yes that does include finances. We simply are not to preach the gospel because of impure motives. I agree with you 100% on that, but I do not agree that ministers should not be supported financially. Why should doctors receive pay, lawyers, bankers, school teachers, etc., but not ministers of the Lord Jesus Christ which is the ultimate calling. That’s crazy. Why doesn’t the doctor simply give up his time? Why doesn’t the lawyer simply give up his time? Why doesn’t the police officer simply use his skills to protect people for free? After all, these are real lives we are talking about that can be rescued from danger? Why is it that firefighters are not expected to simply drag people out of fires for free? If they receive financial compensation, are there motives automatically impure? Do you know the answer to that question. How much more with the ministers of God who are dealing with the eternal spirits of God‘s creation? I strongly implore you to repent of this video end of your wrong thinking and believing, and get in a good spirit filled local church if you were not already and support that leader.
uneducated opinion by man. "The labourer is worthy of his reward.' and that includes ministers. 1 Cor.9. There is a big difference between someone getting financial reward and someone milking the cow.
Stephen Holland You are right. 1 Cor 9:14 says he should receive a "living" from proclaiming the gospel. Money was created as a "promise to pay" and it is an exchange for an act given to someone so that it may be used for a the individual needs of the worker. The proclaimer of the gospel has needs, maybe to feed his family, pay for food, utility bills, a home. It is only when the preachers demand too much that it is wrong, which is why Jesus told them about the poor widow whose small offering was all she had, (also in 1 Cor 9).
@endtimesareuponus8930 Yes I do that by giving a donation at the church, which pays the wages of the people that put more time in than me for the upkeep and running of the building and also the full-time ministry of the pastor. We were not commanded by Jesus to work full time and provide for a family while full time being a Pastor or Vicar. People fed the apostles as they went. I don't give them meals per se, but I give the money for themselves and their families to get it themselves. It is fair. Jesus did not ever command that we should not be allowed to do that for them. It is love and it is freedom of choice. I was once in a cult which demanded that its followers build their buildings for them as well as trying to make ends meet at home. That cult was then free to sell those buildings at a high profit, but tell their followers that they must go out and preach for free with their children also. All the while, their leaders at the top were very wealthy and did not disclose this to the average guy at the bottom. Be very careful who you are following. If something is not a 'command' in the Bible, then it is an opinion, and not to be forced as doctrine. Jesus warned that the Pharisees taught traditions of men as doctrine ". Mark 7:8 NIV You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to human traditions.”
GOLD AND SILVER I DO NOT HAVE!! YOU'RE EXACTLY RIGHT ON THIS! But the Lord's revealed a lot of things to me that we've been taught that are incorrect. What your teaching is offensive to a lot of people and if I shared the things that God's revealed to me people think I'm nuts
Wow… Completely ridiculous and such a lack of honor for the ministry gifts of Christ. The scripture says in one Timothy five that the laborer is worthy of his hire. And many ministers receive very little from their congregations. Paul was a tent maker and did at times Did other work other than gospel ministry, but in two Corinthians chapters 8 and nine, as well as in Philippians four, he argues that he should be supported. No specific amount is specified, but Paul does not agree with you that ministers should not be supported. I understand that the ministry is not merely a career but a Colin. God does support his ministers and many times through his people, but even if he hast to use unsaved people, he can do that especially because of so many in the church who are dishonorable and have no problem paying their doctor when they are sick, their lawyer when they need one, their plumber when they need one, for their schooling when they go through it, but grumble gripe and complain because the church is supported through tides and offerings and the minister is taken care of so he can give himself to prayer and to the ministry of the word, acts six. The apostles were working in the church serving tables. There arose they dissension and the widows were not being supported as they needed to be. Granted this was a church problem, but isn’t it interesting that the apostles basically said, we ain’t got time for that. y’all appoint seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom to take care of all of this business. What did they say they would do? They were going to give them selves to prayer and to the ministry of the word. Well guess what buttercup. how much better is it when ministers can work in the church, and be available to the congregation and give them selves to prayer and to the ministry of the word in order to feed the flock of God over which the Lord has made them overseers, one Peter five verses 2:3. having been in the ministry for two decades, I can tell you that it is not all peaches and cream and it is a full-time job. And yes I have worked secularly as well. There are some who have to do it and we can do it if we have to. but the five fold ministry should absolutely be supported. Of course we should not be hirelings and ministers who are in it for the money will suffer the consequences. But being in it for the money, and living of the gospel are two different things. Paul said that those who preach the gospel should live of the gospel One Corinthians 9 verses 6:14. That text alone should be enough to convince any honest hearted believer of the validity of this truth. Now, Paul did not take the liberty to himself that he asserted in the text, and this is because Paul was not a hireling. He realized that the churches that he was going to wear perhaps poor, or perhaps had issues toward ministers, or the concern for his reputation that the gospel may go forward unhindered and that of course is commendable and wise in some situations. However, polls refusal to demand the right to be supported did not in any way negate it. Those who preach the gospel should live of the gospel.
Ryan Dawson, we need Doctors, Lawyers, Schools and etc. They serve a great purpose in our world, but we don't need a Pastor. Plus they really don't serve a great purpose. The Doctor help me to heal, and then sent me home. The pastor preach the same message year after year, and expect me to just keep on paying him over and over again. I haven't been to the doctor in years, and l feel great! Preachers seek to make you dependent on them, and feed you often, the same food time after time.
THEYRE NOT LABORERS THEYRE CALLED HIRELINGS-PAID TO PREACH!!! The hired hand is not the shepherd and does not own the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it.....THE DISCIPLES NEVER TOOK MONEY FOR PREACHING AND SAID SO IN THE BIBLE!!
I feed myself. I go out to eat once a month. I don't go to church at all. I'm not paying anyone for my spiritual food. My mind is in great shape, and l use it myself.
We go out to eat when we don't feel like cooking, or we just want to have a night out. Church puts pressure on you to attend several times a week, and people should be shown how to prepare their own food. Not depend on a Pastor to feed them. He actually wants to people to depend on him, because he wants to get paid. Going out to eat at a restaurant and being fed in church are two different things. Pastor dependency is the same as a Codependency Church. I can feed my own self, and don't need a Pastor who is only seeking to make a living off of me. You only promoting Dependency. I don't like going out to eat my spiritual food. Cooking at home is more healthier than eating out. I love preparing my own food, and I'm able to do my own thing.
@endtimesareuponus8930 l just seen where a Pastor decided to step down from his pastoring role, even though he wasn't old. He stepped down to tend to his six-figure businesses he had incurred due to making so much money 💰 When the congregation asked him why would he step down when he's the Pastor. He said he wasn't really a CHRISTIAN no way, SMH! So, l supposed he was just in it for the money 💰 They play us every day through religion.
No one should get rich from the offering basket.
Very vile cussing a lot very angry with me and full of hatred and wanted nothing to do with me or God
When he got done speaking I continued and said God wanted me to come over here because he seen you right where you're at and he wanted you to know that he loves you and said that you needed this.
It is ok to give money but that money should be used to help people in need....not given to people preaching...they shld get a job like everyone else!
YES!!!!
The church in the beginning only ask for money to help the poor, and sick.

I don’t remember replying to this teaching. Idk who this man is.
tHEYRE CALLED hIRELINGS.
For the Scripture says, “You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain,” and, “The laborer is worthy of his wages.”“
I Timothy 5:17-18 NKJV
”Even so the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should live from the gospel.“
I Corinthians 9:14 NKJV
”Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give. Provide neither gold nor silver nor copper in your money belts, nor bag for your journey, nor two tunics, nor sandals, nor staffs; for a worker is worthy of his food.“
Matthew 10:8-10 NKJV
1 Corinthians 9:18
What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel.
Luke 10:7
And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire.
I agree I believe God has showed me the same
Who is the rewarder of our faith and labour? God.
I agree. And this is how we get Hinn, Jake's, Osteen, Copeland, Lindell and the entire Assembly of God. Of course, many more too.
AMEN!!!
Good TRUTH my brother!!!
We are supposed to serve the flock of God not them serve us!!!

I've understood the wine as love and the wineskin the heart.
The old wine being our love. The new wine being God's love. We cannot put God's love into our hearts because they are corrupt. So we need to allow God to renew our heart so it can hold God's love.
This is correct. The application of that scripture in this video was taken out of context.
Amen! I am a self-funded, Holy Spirit-called publick Gospel preacher, and the Paid Professional Religionists abhore me.
Praise the Lord for you.
Do not give up.
It's a sad reality, pastor's have become the money changers, (Give and you will be blessed).
Curtis Fink that's all they are. I know over ten people personally that discovered how easy it was to fleece the flock, and they all became ministers. Not to help the people, but you make some money off of the people.
Fellowship can be found anywhere through any media or in person or written letter or open Bible.
Amen👍💞✝️
Flaming Warrior you are so right. They are definitely seeking to make you dependent on them (Pastors)
Thanks for this video. I’m thinking - is the church in such a mess today largely because of paid pastors and the greed / conrtol that this brings
What kinds of jobs should preachers take then in order to pay their survival bills?
James Ward ask the ones who are already doing it. Or don't you know any?
Many work as doctors, lawyers, educators, and sometimes as blue collar workers.
If they lead a simple frugal life, any job will do.
Amen!
thank you dear brother the choice seer of the restoration family thanks you !
How are Pastors supposed to eat?
If you don't want to support your pastor its up to you
Many pastors use their own talents given by the Lord and as Jesus himself said you have received it freely so give freely
A prophet is worthy of his hire? True or False?
Pastor Cochise - A "prophet" is worthy of his hire? What freaky gospel translation are you reading, numbnuts?
Someone who works should get paid, but ppl don't, so a lot of evangelical churches in Holland have no pastor. You get a dumb talk on sunday from sister so and so. Need help? Thanks for the video. You make some good points
The scriptures I have read on paid ministry call it 'Priestcraft' and it's considered evil. Admittedly many in the business are good and kind people but there it is.
Good preaching sir.
For the Scripture says, “You shall not muzzle an ox when it treads out the grain,” and, “The laborer deserves his wages.”
It must be reasonable of course and not excessive.
Thank you, I read these verses also.
18For the Scripture says, “You shall not muzzle an ox when it treads out the grain,” and, “The laborer deserves his wages.”
Can you explain this?

Good video!
What about the following:
1 Corinthians 9:14 In the same way, the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should receive their living from the gospel.

Nick Madriz I agree!
All the more reason for that pastor to be able to support his own family. Especially in light of 2 Thessalonians 3. Pastors today fall under the disorderly (not earning their own bread) and busybody category. Both of which are to be shunned in the assembly. Not honored.

23 Then Jesus spoke to the multitudes and to His disciples, 2 saying: “The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat.

31 “Therefore you are witnesses against yourselves that you are sons of those who murdered the prophets.

AS TOLD BY THE CREATOR GENESIS 1
I don't know if you'll read this it looks like you posted it about 12 years ago. But think about this. This is something that the Lord showed me that is really intense.
I was in a Bible study with about six people and this happened to me at the same church in Santa Cruz. The pastor was with us in the group. There was one gentleman and I don't know his personal situation or anything about him personally but he had told this younger kid three times that "it's okay to be rich"
After the third time of hearing him speak this
I said "who are you trying to convince, you or him?"
I proceeded to say I see two accounts where Jesus ran into people who were rich, one he told to sell everything he had and come follow him. It had an example of two people one had good things on this Earth and the other didn't and the man who was rich on this Earth was now in hell
The pastor didn't say anything about my comments but he did end up making a reference to somebody that he knew that wanted to be a teacher but he needed medication for bipolar or something.
And when the rich man gave away half of his wealth to the poor and decided to pay people back it's then that Christ said
"Today salvation is coming to this house"
It wasn't after a sinner's prayer or confessing all his sins or accepting Jesus in his heart as his Lord and savior.
This man heard the truth and seen exactly who and what he was and made a decision to change
When Jesus told the rich man to sell everything you got and give it to the poor and come follow me it made me think
"follow him where? Where was he headed?" He was headed to lay his life down for others
It even says in Acts when they were all of one heart and one mind and considered none of their belongings their own but they shared everything that God added to their numbers
You seem to missing the real message brother.
It was never bottles. that should give you pause for concern. it was always wine skins!!!
Thanks Kazae02
excellent commentary.
uneducated opinion by man. "The labourer is worthy of his reward.' and that includes ministers. 1 Cor.9. There is a big difference between someone getting financial reward and someone milking the cow.
Stephen Holland you received free so you should give freely o wait you want your reward
Stephen Holland
And the reward is not by making merchandise of the people of God...
Mark 7:8 NIV
You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to human traditions.”
Very informative and good points, unfortunately narrow is the way and few find it. But I will keep studying God's words and ask for discernment.
Exdous Chapter 20:vers.17 Thou shalt not covet any thing that is thy neighbour's. The 10th commandment. The truth about giving.
Offensive to people that want to be lazy and not use their talents
Thank you for making this video. Very informative.
The bible said a laborers is worthy if its wages and a pastor and the other preacher such as deacons are laborers of the gospel
THEYRE NOT LABORERS THEYRE CALLED HIRELINGS-PAID TO PREACH!!! The hired hand is not the shepherd and does not own the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it.....THE DISCIPLES NEVER TOOK MONEY FOR PREACHING AND SAID SO IN THE BIBLE!!
sTOP SPREADING LIES!!
@@laragreene8328 im not spreading lies. U stop spreading lies.
Did we pay for the Holy Spirit? No say we don’t receive a wage cause of the holy spirits
Amen! well said.
There is no clergy performed marriage ceremony in the Bible.
Perhaps the preacher planted a seed.
There is nothing wrong to accept help, including finances, what is wrong is preaching for finances. God says, buy wisdom, but sell it not.
Buy wisdom ?need scripture please. I don’t know that one!
Prov 23:23.
protestant comes from the Latin and means 'to bear witness.'
No it doesn't, Latin 'protestans' to protest.
Youre ignorant. I agree regarding paid hirelings but why do use the word Jew? Don't you know the difference between Jew and Judah?
If we pay a chef in the restaurants for our natural food, we should be paying the chef in the church for our spiritual food.
He stepped down to tend to his six-figure businesses he had incurred due to making so much money 💰
When the congregation asked him why would he step down when he's the Pastor. He said he wasn't really a CHRISTIAN no way, SMH!
So, l supposed he was just in it for the money 💰
They play us every day through religion.
Maybe the God, you serve, is not a true God at all, and not the most high
Leave it up to catholic to twist the scripture and make a poor logically broken argument to support their beliefs
What a flat out lier!
“for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.”
Luke 10:7 KJV
Owen Dixon - That's for a hireling. Jesus said the hireling abandons the flock at the first sight of trouble.
You can go out and preach and come back to the same house.
protestantism is one leg of a 2 legged beast...
Rev. ddt And you must be the other leg!
Your reply is childish and not a Christian attitude.
