  • This is after 2 weeks of operation with good sun. Only half the system panels installed. Theoretically 936kwh/month in mid summer if all panels installed. Separate microinverter with panels on hottub roof as separate system. Canadian Solar 225w polycrystalline panels 60cell configuration. Just under 30vdc per panel. String of 12 panels in series. Second string still needs to be installed. I can run the AC unit in the workshop no problem on this current setup without incurring electric charges. See www.latitude51solar.ca for more info and products used here.

Yep. It's still a work in progress. I'm using S5 metal roof connectors, leftover aluminum extruded square pipe and round pipe. I'm not using a commercial racking system. Second string left to mount yet. It's a bit of a job.

Most (not all) analog meters will run backwards when you generate more power than you are using. They may get suspicious when your meters shows a ton less than you normally use. The only way to know is to try running it backwards. I've made 650kwh in 31 days and 23 of those days I had only half the panels installed!

so this will not work with smartmeters, right?

24 panels Canadian solar polycrystalline 225w , two strings parallel of 12 panels. Panels about 30vdc each , inverter sees ~360vdc.

It needs to be activated for net-metering by your power company. In some cases a 2-way smart meter needs to be installed. Personally I don't want one.

    Did you install this yourself?

i have heard that they wont.theyll tell you it will work, then the screw you and you can never get them to give your analogue back.i hate smartgrid tech.been suffering 4 yrs because of them.smartmeters have microwaved all life out of this area

Yep. The analog meter is a mechanical device. Unlike digital devices with software/firmware that can be compromised/manipulated or tweaked - the analog meter is honest. Smart meters are the biggest tax dollar waste ever. $1 billion in BC alone - meters with 11 year MTBF failure rates. Total joke.
