Its so funny that Pilates is seen as a « new trend » when 10 years ago it was exactly the same 😂 Hence the growth of yt channels like blogilates at that time.
I recently started Pilates on the reformer and absolutely love it! As a nurse it is changing my life and I’m so happy!! I find it a fun low impact workout for mind body connection and core strength ☺️☺️ Thank you for saying form is key!! Joseph Pilates created the method for rehabilitation.. ♥️♥️
Been doing Stott Pilates for 12 years and I love, love, love it. It's challenging and relaxing all at the same time. My body always feels better after Pilates!
💯 you’re so right that since Pilates is so “trendy” right now, people just throw “Pilates” on their workout videos without a real understanding of the exercises and form. The worst part to me is that they bring in their body focused language like “fat burning Pilates workout” when truly the majority of Pilates instructors do not talk or think that way about their practice. If anything Pilates is an oasis for so many us from body talk like that. Love your perspective and love your mom’s takes on Pilates too! 😊

If you're looking to transform your body, especially your midsection, Pilates is a great workout to try. I personally tried it for a few months last year, including the reformer, and it helped me get top shape though it can be a bit expensive and boring at times. 💕
@@randomhuman2595 it transformed my body shape from bulky/muscular to lean. It was amazing to witness this change, even though it's not my natural body type. But, I eventually stopped going because it was too expensive
I'm dealing with chronic injury and disability, so I find wall pilates super helpful for the moves that my poor balance would never let me do before. I still dread Pilates, but now that I'm starting to see real improvement, I'm more likely to do it consistently.
Hey same, I got my left ankle fucked with crps, got really fat as well since I cannot even leave my apartment on my own (need a wheelchair and the city I live in isn't that wheelchair friendly)
I never liked Pilates. I’ve always found it challenging and slow based. I thought the same thing about Yoga before when I first tried it but now I love it. My favorite form of exercise is strength training but adding those different types of exercises keeps things balanced.
I loved the emphasis on your form improvement over the 14 days vs a body change! The way you approached it really made me excited to monitor form improvement in my own workouts. 🥰
I’m ngl I’ve seen more change in my body (especially my stomach) with Pilates in one month than I’ve seen with weight lifting in one year. But remember every body is different and reacts differently to types of exercise. (I’m def sticking to Pilates now though)
I have SVT got it at 18 , I had to go from weight lifting heavily to nothing at all. I tried weight lifting again and it was so hard. Now I weight train 3 times a week but do Pilates 2 times a week because it helps me with my mobility and allows me to lift without putting too much strain on my heart. It’s helped me a lot, and my body has never looked better, even better than when I was at my peak.
Day 17 done ✔️. Excellent workout! I’m so sore all over. I didn’t think I was going to get through today’s workout because I’m so sore from yesterday 😅. But I got it complete. And I’m looking forward to the full body stretch tomorrow. 💖
Keltie thank you for taking the hit to try out all these trends so that we don’t have to T_T happy birthday! Literally no one asked and I’ve sure you’ve touched on this but I’m kind of tired of Pilates trending because of how it’s promoted. I’m a casual Pilates enjoyer… I’m mostly doing weightlifting. But every time I’m gush about how great weightlifting is to my female friends, they cringe and say they don’t want to get bulky and just want to “tone” which is why they stick to Pilates. But then they are also the first to express frustration in not seeing any discernible changes in their physique. And this is where I’m hung up. I feel like Pilates is trending because it promotes a specific kind of look dare I say, thinspo rather than health and fitness as part of a lifestyle. This aesthetics first approach to fitness is in my opinion the main reason women quit in 3-6 months- because realistically it takes 1-2 years of consistency to see real and lasting changes in your body. Weightlifting for me is rewarding because its strength based and is a long term challenge. But its something that most women shy away from. I’ve never looked or felt better but again, I do other types of fitness as well. I feel like the Pilates girlies *only* do Pilates.
Hi! Why not do both! I've been in the industry for 35 years and teaching Pilates 20+. The 2 complement each other very well. Pilates saved me from chronic pain and lifting weights helps keep muscle on. The sooner you start the better! Traditional pilates on traditional equipment will kick your butt. But like weightlifting, it takes time. Keep preaching to your friends and try a "classical" studio, it's a game changer.
I actually would LOVE to do Pilates more often! The issue is that because Pilates is trendy the classes are always immediately booked up at my gym as soon as they are available. So like I said, maybe the Pilates girlies should be trying other kinds of fitness! To maybe give us weightlifters a chance!
What's even funnier is that the pilates moves were always at the end of an aerobics class - leg lifts, donkey kicks etc - they werent called pilates back then
Interesting AG1 is made in New Zealand. The food in NZ has a taste of pure rainwater. Difficult to explain - it is something I have not forgotten and noticed immediately eating out while travelling.
I do not feel like anything can replace Reformer or Cadillac Pilates. I have three slipped discs thanks to almost ten years of ER nursing, and it controls my pain. I've been doing pilates 3-4 times a week pre-pandemic. I also recently had my diastasis recti fixed by a surgeon, as well as breast implant removal. That took me to the next level. Now I'm in the crazy advanced classes, and my strength has shot through the roof.
Here is your reminder to cancel that app (if you haven't already). And to anyone else who has been forgetting to cancel subscriptions they have been meaning to cancel, go ahead and do that now😅
Oh the back hurting comment is real. Some wall Pilates classes I’ve seen/done it’s an excessive amount of unnecessary bridging which is why I designed my pelvic floor wall pilates class with only 1 set of bridges! The humping exercise was definitely not created by Joseph Pilates 🤣🤣🤣
I love pilates, and I've been doing it at home since the pandemic. I wanted to try Wall Pilates, but I live in such a small apartment where all the walls have some form of furniture on them that I have NO space to do it against a wall. It sucks haha
Happy birthday in advance! 🦄I'm actually taking a break from social media too. Deleted the IG app on my phone a couple of days ago. So far I'm loving it 🙃
Idk why I'm thinking of this now but totally used your monthly playlist idea! July will be my fifth month and it's just the organization I needed added to my phone. The moods 😂 you we right! Also love pilates and rarely use the wall so now I will try some 😅
Thank you for all your videos! Have you ever thought about getting the Lagree Micro at home reformer? I would absolutely love to know if you think it's worth it!

I appreciate the social media detox too! Love your channel. Id love to hear your take on exercises to do everyday that dont take a lot of time (3kids and full time job!) And are really good for stability, mobility and strength (fat loss is good too!). Would Pilates be your go-to for this?
I love Pilates but…. I did 2 reformer classes every day for a year. Like i would do the “cardio” reformer and then there would be a chair class , etc. i still lifted heavy but was much softer after a year.
Do you ever get sore anymore? Also do you workout daily? Do you ever take breaks? Do you workout during your period? I’m new to working out. Lol… also sometimes for videos like this I wish you would do with some one else who is a bit chunkier so we can see if they get results and compare.
Everyone’s results will be different. It’s best you try it for yourself and see how it works for you. Her experience will be different than yours. If you don’t normally workout, it’s normal to be sore after the first couple sessions.
Keltie! The next fitness video you should do is following a week of workouts recommended by Dr Peter Attia from his new book, Outlive. I know you like Huberman Lab and I’ll think you’ll like that protocol as well.
