Try 2 LFOs for a kick: one faster exp to pitch for the thump, another one slower linear (saw or ramp with negative depth) to pitch for the massive tail
Man, you're a hero! Although slowly getting better at sounddesign on the DN, percussive sounds are still hard for me. When creating percussive sounds in my eyes you have less sweet spots compared to leads, basssounds, arps or pads. So thanks a TON for this extremely helpful tutorial! 🙏
Thanks, man! I agree, there are fewer sweet spots and they're all within pretty specific ranges when it comes to drums. Hihats are the easiest to randomize because any ratio higher than 2 are too high pitched to easily make kicks or snares out of. I'm glad you found this tutorial useful :)
Thank you so much for sharing your ninja techniques I would love to see you illustrate how you utilise midi thru and midi out together using the sequencer at some future time.thanks Ivar your the man.
My pleasure, I'm glad you found it helpful :) I haven't used midi thru before, but I have used the Digitakt to sequence some drums on the Digitone using multimap. If I find myself doing this more, I might make a tutorial on it!
This was actually super useful for the Syntakt too. With similar sculpting techniques you can get a harder hitting snare than any of the Syntakt snare machines by using sy tone! Similarly sy bits makes a mean kick drum with the lfo and filter settings you talked about in the vid. Super useful. If you did a Syntakt version I'd watch the heck out of it.
I actually had no idea there was filter tracking on the Digitone! Also, I have no idea why that would be a global parameter. I might want it for a pad but not a funky bass, etc. Maybe in a future firmware :\
@Ivar Tryti or anyone else: Have you had any success with making decent toms on the Digitone? I'm struggling to do anything except very rudimentary sounds.
You are going to fast to follow you on how to program the drums I hope you do another video going slower on how to program because I'm new to this device
I like it when creators show you the finished sounds first, so you know if its worth watching the video. Sounds great mate

Please, never stop releasing such beautiful content. I just ordered a Digitone and can't wait to finally start with what I've learnt from you.
Hehe, thanks for watching, man. Congrats! I hope the Digitone suits your workflow :)
i got my own digitone now, i will watch all your tutorials, probably multiple times as im a slow learner ;)
These are by far the most useful videos on the whole internet. Thanks Ivar!
Best vids for those synths. Outstanding.
Thanks a lot, man!
Beautiful, very useful!
wow i honestly can't believe how much i learned from this video / thank you so much / keep up the amazing work, it's really appreciated
By far the most useful Digitone tutorial I’ve seen. Thank you for sharing your process and explaining your choices.
your tutorials are always top shelf
Thanks, man :)
I don’t remember if I said it already, but thanks a lot for putting this together.

@@IvarTryti absolutely. Will try some of these randomising tricks you showed as soon as I'm back on my DN again. Cheers! :)
Can you do Macros? Meaning, can you control several parameters from a sigle encoder?
Yess, thank you Ivar. Something to do for the Sunday morning 😊
Thanks for watching, niels :D
I really enjoy the Drum sounds in the Digitone, thanks for doing a tutorial on it.
I will be referencing this Tutorial a few times. Thanks!
I'm glad you like it, Howard! Thanks for watching :D
I've been waiting for this video :) thank you thank you! Have a good day bro
Hehe, thanks a lot! I hope you find it useful :)
you shall add "end results" example pattern :) would love to hear the final results of all beats

Been waiting for this :)
I hope you find it helpful :D
Al of your digitone videos have been the most helpful. Use many sounds I've learned from these videos in tracks
@@kylewall8521 Hehe, sweet! I'm glad to hear it.
Great.Very clear
Thanks a lot!
Got mine yesterday :) Super helpful!
Very nicely done... Thank you!
Thank you!
Me - "Sweet kick!'
Ivar - "That sounds stupid".
Me - :(
Seriously though this was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for this.
Hehehe, by "that" I meant the super simple four-on-the-floor drum pattern :P. The I'm happy with how the kick turned out!
Thank You, super helpful!
My pleasure, man!

All the settings in the setup menu (FUNC+TRG) are all per track, not global! No firmware update needed :D
Thats perfect! Thanks
Thanks, man :)

Hey thanks for doing this Ivar! Your channel is a great inspiration for me! 😊🎶
Thanks for watching, man! That's so awesome to hear, thank you :D
HOW did you learn all of this?! (Especially the settings that you can"t hear until later in the process)
Thank you so much!!! You are so inspiring.
Thanks a lot, man!

You can slow down the video in settings. I do this when it goes too fast for me. Or speed it up if it’s too simple.
