The great thing about Filipinos is that they easily integrate into society. They have traditional Judeo Christian values. They work hard. They don't push for political office. They speak English. They are sociable. They are loyal. They are humble. They don't complain. They aren't unreasonably demanding. They don't seek to change the local culture. Imo, one of the most ideal immigrants groups.
I migrated to Baltimore Maryland,25 years ago us a nurse and changed careers 10 years ago in the construction industry, we Filipino are willing to adapt to any situation for the benefit of our family, so true what you mentioned, thanks
I'm a Filipino and travelled to Nhill in 2007. I love it! so peaceful and people are so friendly. I bought land at Luberta St and will build a house there!
I've been working in customer service and I've meet so many Aussie people around here in Philippines on vacation. and I can say they are the most laidback and nice people. And thank you for being nice to my fellow Filipinos. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. ❤
When you are a foreigner to a certain country, your worst enemy is homesickness. Being away from your love-ones, friends and the familiar faces and the easiness of speaking your own language, can make you question yourself if what you have done is worth it all. But when you have a community as welcoming and warm as this, it makes you feel like you are not an outsider and you are accepted into their culture. Thank you for that. I am so happy for my Kababayans.
You'll never regret hiring qualified Filipinos, and those in Christian streamlines, they are willing to adopt the good culture and traditions of Australia..
This sort of thing needs to become more and more common in Australia as we need the labour and people living in our country towns. I have so many nephews in the Phils that can work in the country jobs but the cost and redtape just make it so difficult. This really needs to change.
I love Philippine people!! and I believe other immigrants also contribute to Australia too. The country with diverse culture background build the vibrant to the town.
I am a Filipino. Proud of my race; proud of my values.... I envy those Filipinos... I would have come, too, if I have the opportunity... But so sadly, I don't have... so here I am, wallowing in hardships in my country with no opportunity... I am in tears daily, always yearning for opportunity that wouldn't come.... 😢
my boss is an australian and he's very kind, understanding, and easy to work with. filipinos and australians really get along well. much love your fellow countrymen in australia.
loyalty and trust is what bring them to australia. the owner trust them and now look at them. until today they still work hard and grateful for the opportunity that they have. such a wonderful family.
Filipinos have a western culture, Christians in faith, speaks English, humble and very skilled people. You just can't resist hiring Filipinos and living with them in harmony.
As a Filipino, Aussies are one of the nicest person ive dealt with. I worked with 2 telco company, consumer and b2b, theyre straight damn nice! Compared to American customers. Thank you Aussies!
This has been the same story for the town of Winton In the South Island of New Zealand. Australia and New Zealand need these people, They are hard workers, loyal and dedicated to the work, that frankly Aussie and Kiwis are not always prepared to work at. These Pinays need to get a better life, than that which they have in the Philippines. When they get to both our countries, then they will blossom and prosper. I have seen it done time and time again . I applaud Tom for taking a chance and hope that the rest of the towns in Victoria will also consider these people
Out of all immigrants who go and try their luck in Australia, I think the Filipinos are the best ones(apologies for other nationalities). They are humble, hard working, peaceful, fun, nurturing and most importantly kind. I really don't get it why the immigration law seems to tighten work and visa applications to these people. Why would you give them a hard time getting visa's if their ultimate goal is just to live a life of peace and contribute to the Australian society? Great people deserve a good nation and i think Filipinos are the way to go. Lovely people indeed!
Nice choice, great people and great character and morals. That’s better government to allow the respectful, law abiding and socially responsible types into our country. Nice work to the town. 👍😁
Thank you so much for embracing or fellow Filipinos. For the Filipinos in Australia let's give them back the love, loyalty, and care to our Australian friends. ☺
It’s nice 👍 to be supported especially for these family they deserve it ♥️they are very hard working family they love to help out families and make other people’s life better just like them👍🙏🙏🙏 .GOD Bless 🇦🇺
This is so heart-warming to hear. I'm surprised I hadn't heard about this until now. I'm a Filipino who recently moved here in Australia from France. I honestly feel Filipinos and Aussies would get along because we both seem like very fun people. We Filipinos are religious and family-oriented and hospitable whilst Aussies are compassionate and are mostly really kind as well. So it's really nice to see the Aussie values as seen like here. We fit in in a very community-driven places so I think the Fernandez family fitting in is nothing surprising. Cheers to the wonderful Aussies that helped them out!
Filipinos in the USA considered model citizens cause we dont complain and we assimilate into ANY town quietly. Sometimes its a disadvantage because we get taken advantage of but filipino culture is all about living in harmony regardless of race & religion.
Most Filipino when treated good and with respect. They will be pay this gratitude with loyalty to their employers and will stay even if they are offered a bit more money to work somewhere else unless the employer don’t value their hard work and sacrifice and don’t pay a living wage for their family.
The USA is running short of educators. As recently as August 2024, Missouri employed teachers from the Philippines to teach high school math and science. I heard that in the Philippines, English is their second language and is taught as early as 1st Grade.
Theres another abc programme that did another piece on filipino rural workers does anyone know what it was? It was recent as well and was about an Australian couple who owned a dairy farm and recruited filipino workers to their town.
Oh yes Filipinos are hard workers and they treat their jobs as their own. They also like to cook and share it with their neighbors and friends, besides they’re loyal to their employers…
Philippine education is pattern that to United States Filipinos are also very Westernized because of United States the Philippines is easy adopt by Australia fron education to religion is very important!
This town gonna be really loud from all the karaoke singing. Kidding aside, kudos to the town for sponsoring the family and hopefully revive the neighborhood with new life.
More and more smaller towns here in the US, or Australia, and so many industrialized countries are facing the same problems; their young ones are leaving and going to bigger cities and leaving the aging populations. Eventually' there will be no more workforce and these smaller town will eventually die. But immigration can save them. Just like what they are doing now.

Yeh true, my wife's Filo and I can say that a lot of them are extremely kind / agreeable. Not to mention their food's pretty good too.

Filipinos and Australians are so much alike especially in personality. Both are very kind and welcoming people.
As a Filipino, Aussies are one of the nicest person ive dealt with. I worked with 2 telco company, consumer and b2b, theyre straight damn nice! Compared to American customers.

Filipinos are lifeblood for some locations. Case in point is Faroe Island.
Wow you awe them a lot of love ❤
Theres another abc programme that did another piece on filipino rural workers does anyone know what it was? It was recent as well and was about an Australian couple who owned a dairy farm and recruited filipino workers to their town.
I also just came across from this same channel about Filipino health workers that were recruited to work in elderly homes, that led me to this video.
I think it was this one: ua-cam.com/video/V0QMTdznrOg/v-deo.htmlsi=e8u1S79AiBjEgMrw
There was also one where the rural town hired Filipino nurses in an aged care facility. They too successfully integrated into the community.
Bless the family❤
