I am not discouraged by the time frame, I am actually hyped! I already know Excel and Power Query, so jumping into PowerBI should be like an extension to it. Programming languages do intimidate me, but I'll learn them. I need the job to buy a house where my wife can retire and do the gardening she loves to do.
This was so encouraging. When I decided, at the beginning of June, to start this journey I estimated January of 2024 to be a, hopefully, attainable goal. It sounds like that's a reasonable time frame after watching this. I wish I had had more applicable skills as far as programs, technology, statistics, etc., but I am curious, a lifelong learner, diligent, and determined so I hope that translates to a good job so I can provide well for my kids.
I am leaving leaving this comment here to firstly thank you for this huge opportunity you are leaving us and how organised is your content. Secondly for me who has no background in DA or programming what so ever, I want to come back here to see how much I progressed, hope this roadmap will get me there one day :)

Hi Alex, I'm a retired millwright/maintenance planner who is looking for something as a data analysist to subsidize my retirement as a side hack. I am interested in working from home and your lessons sounds appealing to me. I have been a user of MS Excel for a couple of decades for my job and also have written some simple queries for reporting using our company's IBM database back when we ran our maintenance software on a AS400 platform. I am going to watch your training lessons in hope that I can brush up and learn new techniques to become a remote data analyst. Anxious to get started!

When I started my data analyst path in 2020, I didn't know that I wanted to be a data analyst. I got a master's degree in data science and immediately started a job as a machine learning engineer. I was laid off in February and I've been looking for a job since. I've learned that machine learning is not an entry point to a career in data. I just earned my Power BI Data Analyst Associate certification yesterday, and I'm hoping this helps me find a job.

It's easy to learn. But my opinion is 'google data analytics' is giving a basic introduction to the skills required to become a data analyst. We have to learn more to become expertise in skills which are required to get job and sustain in that.

Great video! The information on the skills and steps needed to become a data analyst in 2023 is very helpful and informative. The tips on the importance of continuing education and keeping up with the latest technologies in the field are especially valuable. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for these videos man!! They’ve been really helping me getting a plan together to change careers and become a data analyst, I have no experience in this field or anything close so I’m giving my self a year to learn all these skills, work on some projects and get good enough to feel confident to apply for jobs. I am familiar with 3 of the 5 skills but found that I was lacking on them. I hope you cover something on SSIS, SSAS and SSRS. If not, point me in the right direction. I definitely like the advice on building a project and building a data analyst resume.

This is so helpful, thank you! I am transitioning into the tech field from an education background and while learning coding through self-study trying to narrow down the specific positions I'm interested in. At this time, I'm most drawn to Data Analytics, DevOps, and Cloud Engineering. Just trying to learn more about each career path and this was highly informative!
Would you recommend to focus on one skill deeply (like SQL) and learn it to a high degree of proficiency and then move on to learning another skill (like Python), or to learn all of the data analyst skills a little at a time? Thanks for all your videos! I am a professional musician interested in getting into data analytics.
SQL is hard, you can learn the basics in 3-4 days no doubts. Doing complicated things with SQL takes a lot more time. Make it 4-5 months min to master SQL only. Excel is tricky too. Some jobs ask for VBA and Excel, takes time to master Excel, let alone knowing the visual basic. Tableau or Power Bi. For my Power Bi certificate I had to reschedule the exam once. I didn't feel ready for it. The exam suggest that is for Junior analyst with 6 month experience. It's expected to have being working with Power Bi for at least that much before you get a professional certificate about it. It took me 4 months for the certificate btw and I barely passed it. Where you place R or Python in that short time frame? Knowing Python first, then how to work with libraries doing the actual data work, then if you need web scrapping also learning that. Just won't happen in a short period of time or at least not in a job ready proficiency.
Yesterday I had an interview in which they asked me if I knew databricks, Apache spark, Hadoop, Hive, there’s two more I can’t remember… industry is not as easy as this UA-camrs want to make it seem
@@christianalvarez9930 It really depends how high you aim at. I landed similar position as Business Analyst Intern (starting Monday). I had to only prove that I can work with data (Excel test) and writing about my findings, since the job require writing technical documentation. The way industry moves, are you right, much more is needed as per the demand for data increases. Don't get demotivated UA-camrs like Alex give you hope.

My goal is to incorporate my health care expertise within a data science use case. I have a decent idea of the track and structure but wonder if you have any helpful hints?
Hello sir! That’s so wonderful to hear. I’ve been getting certified in Python and R. I took a statistics class. And data science foundations. I learned Tabealu and Alteryx. The last step is resume and LinkedIn. Data Science is a touch different than Data Analysis. Also Data Validation in excel are easy formulas you can learn. Good luck on your journey sir! As data scientist we must know code a bit stronger than a data analyst.
Hey Alex! I’ve got a question! I just finished my Google Data Analytics Certification yesterday. I’ve been working on more case studies and I’m eager to start applying. However, do jobs offer any sort of “we’ll train you more” if you show you have a good beginner level understanding or is you’re expected to just go right on in with little help? I know you’ve said back in the day you didn’t have much technical skills but one of your jobs liked your personality and thought “we can train him”. Do you still think that is pretty prevalent today? Or is there more of an expectation, regardless of background knowledge, that you’ll come in and just take your spot.
One of the reasons why I decided to learn those skills and become DA is you, I do really appreciate your doing great job and distributing us. I also want to have mentor in this areas even I want you but other if i can. I really grateful for that.

I've finally made up my mind to start my journey from the scratch. For the sole purpose of bettering my life and learning data analytics, I've bought new laptop since the old one was very faulty and slow and I'm planning to genuinely start from zero. Yes, motivation goes away sometimes especially if you're alone or doing this at home so it will be really great if someone also wants to join me on this journey....if there's someone just starting out and also want someone to be constantly reminded of the progress...i think by sharing progress and telling each other what it needs to be done, we will progress faster than average. So let me know when anyone is interested.... It would be faster to learn together, maybe in a group and sharing useful information

I'm glad I came across your channel. I've been looking at how to get into Data Analytics so I can combine it with my experience & studies in Accounting/Bookkeeping and Product Management. This has not only shown me I was on the right track but helped me get even more motivated. I'll certainly be watching more of your recordings.
Hi, I have a degree in Business Administration majoring in Accounting, will data analysis be easy for me at some point
I am starting my data analytics journey today, June 1, 2023! 😊😊
I just liked tis comment to remind you. I hope you're still at it, if not: don't give up. Maintain the focus!!
Another reminder to stick to your journey
Thank you both for the reminder. I derailed 😢😢 but I am getting back.
This is just a reminder that you got this, and you can do this! You have all of what you need and more to achieve this! Keep going! Please let us know how it's going! 😊
how has it been i am just starting
I appreciate the step-by-step breakdown. Building a portfolio seems like a crucial step in getting noticed by employers.
Watching this video before I get to studying module 2 of the Google DA course. I appreciate everything you’ve been doing for the community!
I wish I had had more applicable skills as far as programs, technology, statistics, etc., but I am curious, a lifelong learner, diligent, and determined so I hope that translates to a good job so I can provide well for my kids.
good luck! hope things are going great so far!
I am leaving leaving this comment here to firstly thank you for this huge opportunity you are leaving us and how organised is your content. Secondly for me who has no background in DA or programming what so ever, I want to come back here to see how much I progressed, hope this roadmap will get me there one day :)
How is it going so far?
Good luck!
You got this. My best wishes.
Yo. Did you get your bag??
Starting my data analysis journey(3/11/2024) today! Excited to uncover insights, develop new skills, and drive informed decisions. Wish me luck!
Coming from someone who's in the middle of switching careers from hospitality (10 years of experience) to data science, trust me, this guy knows his stuff. I've applied to Data Science NEET Academy in Croatia, which is a part of a unemployed service acts, and I have teachers from Intuita, and all the skills that are presented here are the skills that we've been and will be learning for 6 months. Alex, you're amazing!
Here I am sharing my story. I have to retire from my profession in gastronomy due to osteoarthritis and now have to start up new career. I chose Data analysis and starting from zero today and watching these videos for initial support before starting with some actual courses. Thank you, Alex, your videos are great and I hope I will able to learn and start my new career in the future.
Consistency plus excellence = Alex. Weldone Alex
I'm starting my journey to change careers from insurance adjuster to data analyst. Thank you for all your information and guidance. Very excited for this change!
I am starting my first class today , i hope to be a data analyst before the year runs out. Thanks so much Alex
I have 8 years of experience in data analysis. I am glad to see you giving lectures, I like your courses.
Thank you so much, Alex, for all your hard work!!!! All of these "how to" videos are a life saver and I cannot wait become a data analyst! 🥳 Currently going through the Coursera Courses you recommended, including the Google data analytics certification!
You're most welcome! Really glad to hear they're helpful! :D
@amysmerz3054 Since you are actually going through coursera route I wanted to know if it's actually worth taking that certification or not?? Thanks!
Is the coursera course paid or unpaid kindly?
I am right there with you. My best wishes
I'm Mary from Nigeria. I am starting my journey into data analytics today. I want to record it here. Hopefully, I'll be back soon to give a positive testimony.
I plan to start with SQL, Excel, and Tableau, just like he recommended.
I hope today will be the start of my transition into financial independence.
Thank you, Alex.
Hey Alex! This is amazing. I've been looking to break into this field and had no idea where to start. I love how the videos are broken down. They are very easy to follow. I'm starting your bootcamp today (07/31/23) and can hopefully start my new career soon! Thank you!
Thanks!
I started with Python but become a disaster really now busy with your SQL Course it make sense to start with your recommended order majority of time its databases and BI tools
thank you Alex...Am busy trying to build a web app to collect my own data and use it as a portfolio it will be great if you can cover flask web framework
Im so excited to have found this playlist! Struggling with making projects! And anything beyond excel and SQL. I go myself this far!
Here to record my data analytics journey; started on 21/6/2024
Me too!!!
Completely off topic, but you have such a beautiful happy smiley face, it's a pleasure to just watch you talk. Great course too!
Thank you! 😃
ABL- always be learning, that was super user friendly, I'm an IT sales person director, but I want to retire in this field, I blurb out the concepts, but your giving back to society is awesome, thank you. I'll keep you posted on my next move.
Dear Alex, Am simply starting. As a person with a background of Mechanical Engineering, I believe this is so essential in my career. Am following step by step
Thank you Alex for sharing, alot of persons like me are in the zone of switching careers and quite frankly its not that people want things for free but they just cant afford all the courses if you are like me coming from a no-code background. Lots of Practice on Real life Data set, Consistence and a WHY is what is needed. Thank you once again Alex for this playlist. 2023 will look good 😊
Really I'm very lacky to have you here on UA-cam this great guy.
This is the right place for the data anlyst person.
Aww Alex. A million thanks to you. Yes, some of us cannot afford the boot camps but we are willing to learn so that we can change careers. I am so excited to start the boot camp and learn from the information. Thanks again😊.
I'm here because I'm starting my data analysis journey from scratch and almost everyone I know recommended Alex's channel😅. I want to be better at data analysis months from now so hopefully this channel facilitates that❤
hey, how's it going for you ?
Degree in business logistics, no experience in Tech but know how to get things done. I hope to create an opportunity to get into this Industry! This video is a small step to the journey! Thank you! 🙏🏾
I like the way you present and the way you simply things! we need more people like you/smiley and not boring at ALL/
Alex, you are an angel! Thank you so much for these! Been going through the Google DA Certification Course but there are a lot of things I still couldn't grasp from it. Your efforts in these videos and courses helps me and other prospective analysts so much. Keep going! And again, thank you so much!
Glad to help! :D
Not going to lie.. I have a degree in a different field and I live in the Caribbean. I am heavily interested in trying this new route of Data Analytics. My issues is job hunting in a foreign country, and dedication.
Started analyzing data on the job which encouraged me to actually go back to school to get my MS in Analytics. Starting this course at the beginning of my MS journey so I can some more knowledge added to my foundation
Thank you so much for this Alex! There is so much info out here it can get pretty muddy. I appreciate such concise explanations and a clear path 😊
Happy to see this life changing Course, in the next 5month i hope to master data analytics and also finish my bach degree of BBIT.....thanx to alex
Thank you so much Alex! I had to extend my own heartfelt thanks for this free online course. I have tried the self study route and I am grateful to you for making the path to a data analyst role more tangible.
Thank you Alex🙏starting my data analyst journey today with your video🙏hopping to come back by the end of this year to say thank you
When I started my data analyst path in 2020, I didn't know that I wanted to be a data analyst.
Did you find?
@@ramilmahmudov9264 I have an internship making Power BI reports and using T-SQL. It's been a couple of months now and I'm hoping it might become a full time job.
This video is super helpful for anyone looking to break into data analytics. The resources provided look great.
Thank you Brother. 😊
I’m now on chapter 6 of the Coursera course for Data Analysis.. it takes a long time but i‘m motivated to create my portfolio and to finally apply 💪🏼
I am on course 7 now hoping to finish soon. I wish you the best of luck! To the both of us haha. Course 7 is really cool. You are learning R and doing a bit of coding.
@@TheosT123 I am also on Course 7. 🙂 Best of luck to all of us.
@@harshinihari is it easy to learn that? or maybe you facing problem?
It's easy to learn. But my opinion is 'google data analytics' is giving a basic introduction to the skills required to become a data analyst. We have to learn more to become expertise in skills which are required to get job and sustain in that.
@@harshinihari are you done with it ?? bcz i am really starting with it wish me luck ✌
i’ve just decided i want to become a data analyst, and so many people recommend your channel to learn. i’m so excited!!!
I gonna start this journey from Afghanistan, Wish me luck
I will be starting this road map. I started learning data analysis since December last year. Stopped cause i was overwhelmed! Now im starting it again today using this channel!
Alex , The work you do in your videos and help people like me is remarkable thank you so much.🙏
Thank you so much Alex
I have been browsing UA-cam for over a months spending 4to 5 hours daily to try to figure out if it’s the right fit for me and now after finding your channel I am very hopeful. I will be at your channel from now everyday going through all the videos and when I think I am ready you will be the first person I’ll be notifying so remember me plz I’ll really need a mentor thanks so much my man. Great respect and wishes from my end !!!
Amazing video! I just started the process of learning SQL and Tableau after 3 years of doing data analysis for daily fantasy sports as a freelancer. Gonna be binging these videos. Here's to getting a full time gig by the summer!
hey man i've been doing data analysis for dfs as well. Have you been putting the projects on your resume under a 'projects' section or as actual work experience?
@@asols4318 I have it as work experience since I've been with my company since 2020. Been lucky enough to be involved in a lot of the business! A lot of my projects are studying trends like GPP target score probability vs ownership. Really a lot of avenues you can go into depending on the sport
Is knowing SQL and BI tools enough to become a data analyst? I mean must we know python? 🙄
Today I started my journey into the realm of data Analysis, I will come back when am better
Thank you
Updates?
Great video! The information on the skills and steps needed to become a data analyst in 2023 is very helpful and informative. The tips on the importance of continuing education and keeping up with the latest technologies in the field are especially valuable. Thank you for sharing!
Starting my journey today! Love reading the comments about all the success people have had and hope I can be next!
Thank you for these videos man!! They’ve been really helping me getting a plan together to change careers and become a data analyst, I have no experience in this field or anything close so I’m giving my self a year to learn all these skills, work on some projects and get good enough to feel confident to apply for jobs. Might be a little tough since I’m still finishing my B.A but we’ll see.
Same here. i am spending the rest of this year learning these skills
I am new beginner data analyst finally i got good channel thanks
Starting my data analytic journey today 8th October, 2024
All the best ❤
It’s awesome to hear that you were previously a recreational therapist. I worked as a recreational activity professional at a retirement home for 5 years, and now I’m studying to work in data analytics. Thank you so much Alex for making these videos!
Alex, Thank you so much for your series. I am looking more to a data analyst field because I love data. Your videos are giving me clear instructions on how to proceed. I am familiar with 3 of the 5 skills but found that I was lacking on them. I hope you cover something on SSIS, SSAS and SSRS. If not, point me in the right direction. I definitely like the advice on building a project and building a data analyst resume.
this is the most informative video i have ever come across, i have been looking for such my whole life, thanks il come back here after i finish studying. thanks
Glad it was helpful!
@@AlexTheAnalyst nice, its 3:04am here im awake learning , il reach out after 2 months or 3 to tell you im done when i finish thanks alot (28/8/2023)
Hoping I can actually break into the field. People are so pessimistic on Reddit and other platforms, I’ve gotten discouraged
I believe in you!
Please don't get discouraged Mary. People do this every day. It's challenging but not impossible. Keep your head up!
@@Major_Data I just have to get back focused and really put some effort into a portfolio. And I think I need to redo my resume. I did a bootcamp that will help with job placement but the lady that helped me with my resume didn’t help much.
Don’t be discouraged! It took me just over a year but I have landed a job as a business analyst. It takes time but you just have to keep at it and complete projects
@@marysweigart4481 I sent you a message on LinkedIn. Let's take a look at your resume.
I can’t believe you have a FREE data analysis bootcamp. You are heaven sent 🙌🏾 starting tomorrow morning, I’m so excited!
Have been watching your videos for 5 months now
Did 3 interviews last week…still waiting to hear back
Thanks man and happiest new year
Good luck!!!
Good luck!!
Did you get the job ?
I have been looking for opportunity like this and now i've seen one. Thank you Alex, you're a great man
Just FYI for those who live in California… Coursera is free if you live in California through your public library :)
Free Coursera that’s amazing !
You have so much clarity, you’re an inspiration to many. ❤
I am on a journey of becoming a data analyst, i am happy i come across your video. Now i am gonna make your channel my home, going through your courses .
Hey Alex, I’ve recently gotten into data analytics and you’ve been a HUGE help through my journey. I’m so excited to learn more and can’t wait until I’m actually experienced enough to land a career.
Also, when is your next livestream?
Soon!
Thanks so much for this Alex. Please how do I get a prompt for your next livestream?
Many thanks Alex. After completing google data analytics certificate, your videos are helping me keep on track to land my first job as Data Analyst
thank you Alex, for drawing this amazing clear path for us and we can concentrate on the most important thing that we need for our first job. I quit my job and I have to defend my thesis next 3 months. I want to go through your course simultaneously to improve my resume for next job. thank you and I'm looking for your "Python" class too, there is a lot of python class I know but your teaching is simple and to the point so please please make a video for us. thank you man.

Starting today! Still currently employed but need to find a more rewarding career. Switching careers after 40 is scary, but here I am
Great work Alex! Super helpful. Finishing the Google Data Analytics Cert. this week. Do you have any advise for a career physician who is pivoting to a data science track? My goal is to incorporate my health care expertise within a data science use case. I have a decent idea of the track and structure but wonder if you have any helpful hints?
Hello sir! That’s so wonderful to hear. I’ve been getting certified in Python and R. I took a statistics class. And data science foundations. I learned Tabealu and Alteryx. The last step is resume and LinkedIn. Data Science is a touch different than Data Analysis. Also Data Validation in excel are easy formulas you can learn. Good luck on your journey sir! As data scientist we must know code a bit stronger than a data analyst.
I am just started out on this journey a few weeks ago and Alex have proven to be of great resource. Thanks to you Alex.
I'm on the same track as you...we can put our minds together
The expectation for most corporate jobs is that you know enough to do the job.
One of the reasons why I decided to learn those skills and become DA is you, I do really appreciate your doing great job and distributing us. I also want to have mentor in this areas even I want you but other if i can. I really grateful for that.
İ’m starting this bootcamp today 24/12/2024. I believe myself.
Thank you Alex🙏🏼
Alex dude u have no idea how much i needed this i dont have move to buy any online courses and to find smthg like this for free feels like a gift from god
I was right there with you when I first started out - glad to help! Good luck!
Thanks for the hard work man ♥️
Studying this right now. I'll come back once I land a job as Data Analyst. Thank you Alex!
Great I’m starting too
I've finally made up my mind to start my journey from the scratch.
How are you going to start ur journey I’m taking sql and I think I need other knowledge that I’m missing before starting this course
@@eazy1896 just as a group and the sources could be from anywhere..from Alex, Coursera etc but for now I'm focusing on Alex's channel because it's beginner friendly
