    Emily is back, along with Markus, to share our first impressions of unboxing two Zoom Handy Recorders: The "classic" 24 Bit H1n, which has been popular for years -- one of the best sounding, easy to use and affordable portable digital recorders and we're comparing it to the highly anticipated new 32 Bit float equipped Zoom H1 Essential.
    Booth of these handy recorders and many other excellent Zoom products (and many more) are available at www.maarsmusic...
    Zoom is leading the pack in affordable, well built and great sounding portable, digital recorders -- from stereo to multitrack and this is our first time unboxing two products in the same video.
    We hope you find the comparison useful, whether you've already got an H1n and are considering an upgrade, or if it's your first time looking for a handy recorder.
    These recorders also make excellent USB microphones and they are quite easy to use and can yield professional results for music recording, music lessons / music teachers, pod casting, songwriting or recording anything for interviews, to lectures or ambient / sound effect audio.
    We hope you'll enjoy the unboxing experience as much as we did sharing it with you -- life's too short to take oneself too seriously all the time -- we love making music and having fun at the store!

    I am glad that you also showed how the voice speaks for the blind.
    I am blind myself, so it made me very happy.

    Advice caution the Zoom H6 essential ASIO driver is not compatible with the windows 11 arm64 and the error reported is it required x64 processor.I have been informed that there is no solution for this situation.it cannot be used as a audio interface on windows 11 arm 64.

    Any gain asjutment on the H1esential?

    • @maarsmusic
      @maarsmusic  25 днів тому

      None at all, because with 32 bit float, none is required (the only issue could be sound louder than the microphone capsule itself can handle).
      That's the amazing and convenient thing about 32 bit float files -- no gain to set, just hit record.

    You would think they would get out of the stone ages and have a rechargeable lithium battery in these.

      Interesting idea -- there are pros and cons to internal batteries. Definitely something for Zoom to consider on future entry level models. Off the cuff, how much extra you be willing to pay for a lithium equipped model compared to AA or AAA battery one?

      @maarsmusic my worry is, if you don't use the device for extended periods and forget to remove the batteries, we all know what can happen which could destroy the device

      @@Grecoguitardude We just had to clean up two old Kaossilators that had leaky, exploding AAA batteries -- a valid concern. Flexibility in the field, cost of ownership and contact / PCB destroying accidents.
      Definitely worth sending a suggestion to Zoom!

      Agreed, AAA batteries are no good. Going on to a long sailing trip, and was considering Zoom, but that doesn’t work. You can charge devices in the middle of the ocean with the solar panels, but can’t find AA batteries.
