@@Haleycarol Winona always said she feels like her and Lydia are the same person. She said she even looked like Lydia before the audition. I think because Winona never had children in real life, she pictured Lydia's life mirroring hers and it didn't sit right with her that this was changed. However, I do think Winona doesn't mind now because she seems to adore Jenna as if she were a daughter.

Astrid was the only new character I liked in the sequel, according to what I read recently Michael Keaton said he’d do a third one and Winona Ryder and Jenna Ortega absolutely must too. The original Beetlejuice is what I knew Winona Ryder from so that’s why I’m glad she also returned in the sequel. Jenna Ortega is of course a new young actress with raw talent so she was well cast as Lydia‘s daughter. According to some interviews Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder definitely had a blast working with her.
I theorize Astrid Deetz’s future boyfriend, might be an Exorcist student. My second theory; Is that Astrid’s future boyfriend, might be a Psychic-Medium, who knows how to do astral-projection.
