I thought it was really clever that they didn’t make Jeremy sound like a villain, even after he was revealed to be one. He didn’t start talking all “hahaha you’re too late! I’ve won!” He just talks like a normal person and I appreciate that lol
I thought it was a bit weird that Jeremy's parents were so clearly kept out of focus when he shows them to Astrid, but figured Tim just wasn't bothering to show unimportant characters. Such a brilliant twist.
Maybe its because I've watched the Sixth Sense but the fact that Astrid was the only one having actual interactions with him and he said things like he'll be right back in the treehouse tomorrow we're setting off warning bells for me

What scares me is that Jeremy kinda sounds like what 40 year old talks like. Like when he sees Astrid’s phone he has that laugh like he’s acting like he knows what it is
the twist with jeremy caught me off guard, i didn't see it coming at all until they brought up the fact nobody was alive in that house. it makes sense that a serial killer ghost would try to play nice and switch places with a innocent person.
I started to see it coming about a couple minutes sooner. At first I thought the twist would be that he was dead because there were a couple Sixth Sense type clues. Then he started pitching his back to life scheme in which he was weirdly determined to get her to do it right that second (almost as if he really did not want her to think it through). Then he brought up the whole "you'll get to see your dad" and the Lego Star Wars "BIG RED FLAGS" meme started going off in my head.
Not a fan of Astrid, but I do like the point that Lydia is losing herself with her own show and not with her late husband. I mean what’s the point of seeing things of other people for profit, if you can’t focus on your family? Still, Astrid was quite mean to Lydia.

As much as I like this movie, that's also it's biggest problem in a nutshell. So many subplots that don't really go anywhere. There's still like 20 minutes left when Jeremy goes to hell, Willem Dafoe really has no effect on the plot.
I don't really think he had a plan once he got to the surface other than immediately leaving town. He seemed like he didn't enjoy living there even when he was alive and then he was essentially kept prisoner in said place for 20+ years

So since he is dead and she doesn’t know yet he murdered his parents isn’t that a big plot hole? In the earlier scenes the mom acknowledges Jeremy when he walks in with Astrid.

Astrid never saw their faces and I'm pretty sure Jeremy's plan hinged on trying to get her to agree to his scheme immediately so she doesn't think about it too hard and notice the red flags he started giving off
