- DIY WOODEN HOLDFASTS | They are better than I thought!
In this video I will be making a pair of wooden holdfasts. Normally they are made from metal from obvious reasons. However if used good quality hardwoods they can hold up as well.

Very quick, cheap and most importantly inexpensive clamping solution. Great stuff mate! Cheers 👍😎🇦🇺
Thank you for watching 👍
Thank you Sir.🎉
Most welcome
Thanks Thomas you just saved me from ordering clamps stay safe from capetown
Thank you for watching 👍
Well done. A really useful project. 👏
Thank you for watching
Fantastic work, Tomasz! Really well done! 😃
Yeah, I've knew about those for a while! I'm definitely going to build some as well!
Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Well worth making a pair mate 👍
Well done, they look good and they work! 😂👍
Exactly 😄👍 thank you for watching 👍
Another simple but effective clamp and at a fraction of the price of the steel versions ... all I need to do now is make an MFT bench 👍
From personal experience I wouldn't recommend to have the whole top with holes. Just a section.
*_Excellent_* idea... Now I need a *_Table_* to go with those... Well done matey!!!
Hehe thank you for watching 👍
@@CasualDIY You are always welcome my brother... 🖖
great stuff Tomasz will be making those they look great and you looked chuffed they work lol😂
They are great, still can't believe how well they work. Just make sure to use some solid hardwood for it
Well done.
Thank you
Great video, Thank you....does the clamping piece have to have a slight arch on the bottom side or is that just for looks ? Also should the dowel fit snug in the hole or should the hole be slightly larger....and if so by how much ? Thank you again
Yes should be on a slightly angle thanks to that it wedges in the dog holes. It needs to be snug but not so much that you can't move it.
Thank you so much !!!!!! cant wait to make a few myself
@@mundlkalli4396 definitely worth making
Oh come on now Tomasz, just stop with the hole using stuff will ya! You are making it very difficult to resist - I even checked over my pristine bench earlier to see if holes are feasible and, guess what, they bloody well would be… 👀 🪚 🙄
Seriously though, a great tool made very efficient and looking very useful, good job matey… 👍🏻 ✅ 👏🏻
Just don't transfer the whole workbench top, leave most without the holes. Trust me I'm talking from experience of fishing out screws, bolts, washers and anything else that would fit through those holes 😅
@@CasualDIY Thanks, but I’m sure I wouldn’t have that issue, my holes would go all the way through - so all the dust and debris items will end up in my under-bench storage areas… 😂
