Was deciding between the keydial mini or a keyboard for zbrush for ipad, and thankfully for reasons shown in your video, keyboard is way way more useful ^^ So many unused keys on a keyboard that could be used instead of buying the extra equipment. They (and other companies) do a great job of trying to sell unnesesary equipment ^^ *FOCUS ON YOUR OWN SKILLS, NOT THE TOOLS!* Huion makes amazing tablets for the price though! Thanks for the excellent review!
what about the ergonomics? I heard of some indutry veterans how in the end most goes back to the pen tablet, because in end what matters the most is ergonomics and how well you're stting while working, which is way better with a pen + monitor because of your neck and how you use your arms. That's the main reason I'm sticking to a pen also, the "visual" of your strokes you can adapt, but if you're working hours a day it can get really unhealthy in the long term even if you take breaks
Hi! I'll share a bit of my experience. I use Kamvas 24 Plus, the biggest minus is the red tint. There is a feeling that the display oversaturates red color. I make sculptures for jewelry industry and figurines, for me it is not critical. But if the color is important, you should pay close attention to this. PS: what would you prefer for sculpting, 3d connection space mouse compact (wireless) or keyboard from huion ?
i have been using my keyboard and the keydial mini, i havent tried the space mouse, but to be honest i feel quite comfortable with my current setup. as for the color i totally agree, if color is important then there might be other monitors or tools that i would use for final color calibration but for sculpture, painting and drawing i feel it has a nice range of saturarion and colors.
I also found the red WAY too saturated on the 22 Plus BUT- the new drivers make it real easy to adjust the colors and bring those reds down. I need good color accuracy for my works in 3D to illustration for prints so good color is a must for me.
I also have kamvas 22 plus, and yes it's oversaturates red color. So i change temperature setting to user and turn down red from 128 to 120 or 118. You can also try different value on blue & green. Now my screen tablet is pretty much match with my LG monitor.
I picked up the Huion 22 PLUS version of the 22 because it has really good color accuracy for Adobe RGB. BUT unfortunately ZBrushing all day started to play havoc on my neck and shoulder (even on an Ergotron arm) so I had to go back to the Intuos Pro with BenQ monitor. I miss that connection of being on the screen. I definitely think that Huion is a super close alternative to Wacom. I also use a Logitech G13 for my ZBrush bad boy mini keyboard.
I have the 22 Plus it is an incredible device, really lovit! Also there is a hidden feature with this model, you can also change "force the resolution to 2560x1440 QHD in your display drivers from your GFX card settings.
Wow... i also have Kamvas 22 plus. I wonder if that might work with my GTX 1070. So does it cause overheat on your screen after you force the resolution?
depends on your budget, desk space and how portable you need it to be. i have teste the kamvas 13, kamvas 16 and kamvas 22. All of them are great, if yoiu have any specific questions about any of these i can gladly help
Hi Abe, I hope you're doing well. I'm curious about your approach to sRGB color calibration. Do you manually adjust the color profile on your devices to achieve a consistent look, or do you primarily rely on Huion's Color sRGB settings to handle the color accuracy?
great question, i feel the colors look closer to high quality screens like my Ipad Tablet and my phone. so i dont tweak them as much, however i always check my renders and textures in multiple monitors just to make sure the colors are as nice as possible. i dont do a lot of color correction tho, post production is not my main area, i am sure those who do might use more specialized tools
@AbeLeal3D Thanks for the information it help me a lot I have the 22plus and had to try and manually calibrate it because of color difference... did not know anything about render and texture still learning.. Always Learning Always Improving
is there a option to choose between modes for the dial? for example that you use it to zoom in and out but via button press change to make your brush bigger or smaller in the same programm?
no i dont think it has a toggle but it has 3 basic options, zoom in zomm out, brush size and one more that i cant remember right now, you change that on the huion app.
@@AbeLeal3D so you have to pick one of em and stick with it? seems like a missed opportunity on theire site since it would be handy to use the dial for more then one thing at the same time.
ive been using Kamvas 22 Plus for a while until couple months ago i changed my setup and i barely have room for it, so i am using it as a monitor 😭 and been using Huion HS610, and honestly it havent effected my work but it is a waste just using it as a monitor
@@AbeLeal3D after i watched your video, i took some time cleaning this setup and rearranging everything and made some space, i can finally use it again as a tablet and not a side monitor!
i loved the kamvas 22 but the software/ hardware issues where it wouldn't connect. turned me off to any huion products sadly. they have fixes where you have to reinstall the drivers that sometimes worked, but them knowing that they have that issue and never fixed it is not assuring of their technical support help

Just bought the Kamvas RDS 220 . It’s the same as 22 plus but updated and 2.5k screen.

Can you rotate the screen with the dial
Not by default, but it has an option to customize it so if the software has a key to rotate left and right you should be able to map those to the dial
