When guests come over, it’s a mad dash to get all the snacks I can and stay in my room until they leave. The worst part is when you realize you left your phone in the living room and they’re all there. That is true terror.
I'm an extrovert...but this is me. I don't like huge gatherings or crowds. They scare the hell outta me. I got lost in one as a kid 😅 so lots of people around doesn't sit too well with me.
Legit 1 Plummer or tech guy comes to my house I always stay in my room 🤙
For survival purposes it is possible to be without the phone but not the snacks.

Now we need an introvert with an extrovert roommate: covid edition. Where the extrovert is forced to stay indoors not socializing in person and freaking out over it and the introvert doesn't see why this is a problem cuz it's basically how we live anyway.

Not how it works. I m an extrovert. During covid, I m legit spending all my time calling and texting people. So basically I socialize A lot, just not in person. On the other hand my introvert friends tend to be more willing to socialize because they miss it.
I started getting exhausted after the first three people listed.

The worst part is when you have to go to the bathroom, then everyone stares at you while you're wearing your comfy clothes like if nobody was in the house...
I'm lucky the bathroom is in the back of the flat next to my room where no one can see me. Unfortunately you can still hear the toilet flush and water run throughout the flat because of the thin walls. I imagine my flatmate explaining the place is haunted.
I hate this, too. I always seem to be a genuine hot mess when my roommate brings someone important -- like his mother or (god forbid) the landlord -- by without warning me. For me, this is more a problem of being a night owl who sleeps all day. If I were showered and dressed, I would be happy to greet his guests -- but I never am. #DaySleepingAmbivert 🤷♀️
At least you're wearing comfy clothes. I visited a friend, and his roommate went from his bedroom to the bathroom stark naked. He didn't even acknowledge us.

I have gone hours upon hours without food because I didn’t want to have to walk through the living room while there was company. I would literally rather STARVE than socialize.

Sadly sometimes you don’t know what you are getting yourself into...and it’s all you can afford. Thankfully my extroverted roommates didn’t give me too much crap about it. But now that I have the option to live alone, I will ALWAYS make that choice.

Also when you live by yourself never make the mistake I did by telling a friend your address. They were rude enough to show up one day completely unannounced. I was so angry and they couldn't understand that they had disrespected my privacy.
This is why I am always vague about where I live. Not because I believe I will be targetted and robbed/attacked, but because someone with less boundaries might be in the neighbourhood one day and drop by to...ugh... _chat._
People have to least text me first. A lady had a Christmas gift for me recently and wanted to come over. I hadn't showered yet (3pm). I said I have to shower first. Lol, asked what time she can come over next day

it was nice having an extroverted roommate because she was actually someone who didn't drain me. We could sit in comfortable silence for hours and if she needed to be with people she would find her friends and usually ask if I wanted to come, and I would depend on whether I felt up to it. We kind of helped each other, she helped me be a little more social and I helped her see that it was okay to spend time alone for yourself.
Yeah. My best friend is an extrovert and it is wonderful having an extrovert being that understanding. My current roommates are also extroverts and while they want some social interaction from me because of my depression they still understand that there are going to be days that I don’t interact with them all that often.
So while it can be almost end of the world as portrayed it’s not always that way and sometimes it can be quite harmonious.

I still vividly remember the times someone unexpectedly came over and I got a huge adrenaline boost running up the stairs to my room so I could :
A. Avoid any kind of social interaction
B. Not have them see me in my pyjamas that I wear all day long

Speaking of which you’ve got to be careful what you do even in potential life-and-death situations. If you call an ambulance on a flatmate who appears to need medical help that action alone can end up being gossip two months later. It’s best to just keep that element of distance and let them die alone if it’s to die they’re going to do. Helping them will only lead to gossip by obnoxious ESTJs who owe you for weed.

This reminded me of a really embarrassing experience. There was a time when I woke up late and left my room to go to the kitchen, but I had no idea that my older brother (who is very extroverted) threw a BIG FORMAL PARTY and there are lots of people all over the house. I was still in my sleepwear with messy hair and standing awkwardly in the living room, while EVERYONE WAS STARING AT ME!!! They were all wearing formal attires and I looked like a zombie that crashed their party. I was so embarrassed that I ran back to my room, locked the door and hid under my blankets. When I asked my brother the next day, he said that he thought I wasn't home and was still at my friend's house. 😭

My extrovert roommate threw a party while me and my other roommate were out of town. Property management told us they would have evicted us, but they knew 2 of us were out of town. (Not sure how they knew, maybe they guessed because it was a college town). Either way, she wasn't our roommate after we returned.

As an introvert, the worst thing that has happened to me yet was a situation where I sneaked into the bathroom naked, waiting for my clothes to dry out. And then, unexpected guests pop out and I realise I’m stuck naked in a room and there are guests I don’t want to talk to between me and my clothes
This reminds me of when my mom's friends used to visit her when I was a kid, and I didn't leave my room because I didn't want them to ask me questions. I'm so happy I've never had an extroverted roommate so that this pattern didn't have to repeat itself.

That's why we look for an introvert roomate.
ISFJs, ENFJs and INFJs are the best type of roomies. If you’re stuck with ESFPs (especially international medical students), you’re going to have to invest in earplugs and plenty of snacks for your room.

I got some extroverted friends, and yes, I could never cohabit with them in one single house or flat. They even keep talking to me when I go to the toilet, no matter when there is a thick wall between us while keep talking to me.

Mostly small things - do they look bored out of their minds, are they engaged in the conversation or do they only say "okay"/"mhm" whilst looking somewhere else, do they lean to one side or another, to me, backwards? Is their weight distributed on both legs or one, where do their toes point (-> to me? Somewhere else? Tells me if they wanna leave). Where do they look, do they fidget,...
Trust me, there's enough😁
I like both talking and writing. Talking cause it's more personal & I gain more energy, texting cause it's easier to think before I "speak" and it helps me on days where my social anxiety kicks in too hard (or during a pandemic...)
This is the worst thing about the pandemic, all my social interaction is via text and I can't tell tone half the time

The good thing about living with my parents is that they're also introverts, they just make conversation with strangers on the street sometimes cause it's a "parents thing", but they never talk to them again so we never call anyone to come visit us :)
Same here. Lol My mom appears extroverted but live a rather introverted life. My dad is definitely one but they manage social interactions well. We barely had social events at our house and I didn’t care for it and thank them for it. Now, my siblings on the other hand...😬

I felt this to the CORE of my being. Hence why I no longer have roommates. I didn’t want to go through this fun part again. lol. Let me introvert and hermit in peace! Just thankful the last time I had roommates, I at least had my own bathroom. I just needed to stock up on food so I wouldn’t have to leave anytime soon.

Thankfully, I have a roommate who understands I have social anxiety and issues with too many people, and she is actually a lot more extroverted than I am. She claims to be an introvert, but she talks with people WAY more than I ever do and is constantly meeting with people.
I don't know how to she manages to overbook herself with people, but at least she understands my situation.

I love such things.
When I was in college, for a year, I lived with three other people who threw parties almost every night. It was that year I learned to truly despise people. If I didn't have a mini-fridge, my own bathroom, and an electric kettle, I litterally wouldn't have survived. Went a number of nights hungry still, because god knows there was no way I was leaving my room.
Imagine being in multiple group chats. I can even stay active in one...
Out of people in general, I'm an introvert.
Yet, out of all the introverts, I'm in extrovert.
As a young INTP teen, my parents used to throw parties for my mom's sister's kids so the next time they threw a party, I labelled my bedroom door with a _"Monster in captivity, do not open"_ sign and locked it from the inside. I then remember a curious kid later trying to pry open the locked door while I was inside and I had to do my best guttaral monster voice and say _"Who are you? I can smell your fear!"_ prompting him to run away in shivering terror. As you might have already thought, the parties never happened again and the kids stopped coming. Good riddance
Imagine being an introvert and you don't have a bathroom in your room and you have to go during a party or reunion and everyone sees you...

Try being an Introvert who seeks attention... Ill be up in my room with MY music playing, and coming out all in goth style to get a drink of water (but obviously taking the long way)... purposely ignoring the Hellos and smiles... just to go back to my room all happy with myself.
As an INFJ who shared a college apparently with mostly extraverts, I vote that this video is spot on.
Ugh both of my roommates in college were extroverts so I remember such issues, the only time I could rest was after class cause they were out socializing. Then I’d be up studying when they were asleep 😆, then I’d go to sleep about 4am if I was lucky and they were getting up to get ready when class didn’t start til 8-9, the vanity was unreal.

Thank god my roommate is an INTJ and I'm an ENFP with introversion at 42-49% (depending on my mood) so we have silently agreed that our home is our safe haven and it's quite rare for us to have any guests over 🖤
You know he plays all of the characters but it seems like even in the extrovert character he is an introvert...

A few weeks ago my mum invited one of her mates around to the house, very loud very annoying very drinky, and they kept mithering me to come down and meet him he kept asking them to go upstairs and get me it's like 'no, fuck off if i wanted to meet a stranger i would come down and meet a stranger.' Four hours i was hiding in my room, with no way to get a cup of tea.
They're always trying to force me to mingle with their friends and i'm sat there like 'what about me makes you think i want to meet these people, why can't you just not just pretend i don't exist and not tell people about me.' Like for nearly three months they've been talking about how this one woman is dying to meet me and i'm sat there like 'why, all she knows about me is second hand information you have told her and you both usually embelish the details of what i'm like to such a degree that you're hardly talking about the same person.' Like just leave me alone, stop trying to force me into social situations.

Ugh that was my college days living in a dorm with an extroverted roommate! At least you have a room to go to. And yes she invited people over! One of her guest had the damn nerve to complain about my small TV! And kept going on and on about it!

I don't really ever leave the room I'd tend to just stay there while everyone else is out in the living room partying and having fun and it's nothing against anyone what so ever, but it's just that I'm a introvert and I don't mind other's having fun while coped in my room to myself
I'm an ENTP but i'm in my room all the time. I only go out to take a shower and refill food supplies. I'm always on my phone because real life is so boring.
