I actually said that once and the interviewer seemed like he could relate. I decided I wanted to do something else with my life after a week, because there were way too many people for my taste...
I think interviews are actually a test of how well you can lie under pressure while looking innocent and enthusiastic. Thats actually a job requirement for many companies. How well you can behave like a trained dog because they need you to be a robot really. Take orders, don't cause trouble and just accept your value to the company is equal to the printer - the only noise you are required to make is because you're working..
time to cancel society and make a new social contract. What happened to the 1960's when a person could get a job and stay there for 20 years knowing as long as he did his best for the company they'd take care of him while giving him enough to be able to buy a home and take care of a wife and children. Was that just some TV land fever dream? Anti communist propaganda?
@StraightShooterGaming - Turns out that when you blow most of the modern world to hell except for one country, that country has a huge economic advantage. Especially when all the young men come home with military training. To break an economy like that you really need to do something drastic, like exporting jobs and importing labor for the ones you can't export in order to keep wages down until inflation annihilates the middle class.
And then, they don't answer and you get the dreaded voicemail, and YOU HAVE NOT PREPARED FOR THIS UH MA GAD and then you you leave some warbling rambling nonsense message that is saved in hard copy to someone's equipment 😧

I’m still there unfortunately. I got a job thanks to my familly connections. I would probably drop dead at job interview. I honestly feel so annoyed by the question “why do you want this job?” I OBVIOUSLY WANT THE MONEY. I feel like it’s a game of who can come up with the most most interesting story
My last job interview they asked me this question and I said. "I gotta be honest with you. Mama raised me to understand that work is what generates money. So if I want money to pay the bills, I gotta go to work. As long as you promise to pay me, I'll be here and work to the best of my ability." I still work there
@@lakshyapatil4372 be careful with that. When an employer asks "why do you want to work here?" They're not asking why you want to work. They know you're all about being able to afford groceries. They want to know why you chose them over Joe's doughnut shop down the street, because it will tell them about what drives you, what your work ethic and ambition is, and what they can probably expect from you as an employee. I got away with my answer because it was not only honest, but it expressed that I am driven by honor and mutual respect, and that my work ethic is as high as they need it to be and I'm not going to just leave because I hate working. It would also have communicated that I might dump them if offered a higher paying job, but I took that risk because I knew they were desperate for someone to fill my position and I had already told them I had another interview that day. I was absolutely trying to let them know that I could look elsewhere if I didn't like them. Tl;dr the question is not what it seems at first, so be thoughtful about your answer.

" I surpressed my emotion all day , then eat and drink all night to numb myself " Not sure if I want to laugh or cry but it hit me hard in so many levels .
Seriously. I have so been there. Here's a couple of other introvert-y options: 1. write a poem to get those nasty feelings out, 2. hug your resident emotional support animal/human, 3. mentally revisit the worst parts of your day and open your heart to let God fill each one with His love; then, relive everything you were most thankful for and feel the love.
“I don’t see how any position in your company could be anyone’s dream job”. That is brilliant. It’s as true as it is harsh. And I’ve thought similar things when interviewers have asked me why I want to work for them.
At my last job, I noticed that introverts in the office actually worked 8 hours while extroverts only actually worked 5-6 hours because of all the socializing in between. As an introvert, I tried socializing one day to see how long it would take, after 30 minutes of socializing I realized that I had to stop or else I would not get anything done that day.

For shame...the job even paid for our insurance premiums so that wasn't deducted from our pay check so long as we got the basic employee only plan. We got zero PTO or holiday pay (holidays were paid out at the rate of regular days), but there was no constant requests for working overtime as we closed no later than 9PM. Saturdays are always only an 8AM to 12PM schedule so for me, I had two and a half days off from work, working four 9 hour days and then the four hour Saturday. If they have to let us go, I'm going to be sticking like glue to the job board for this company to get back on with them at a later date. To make things even easier with my job, though, we use canned responses and we can only assist with a very limited amount of issues through our chat. However, I often find many of the responses to be a bit blunt. I'm allowed to freehand a response so long as what I'm telling them is still acurate. This way, I can be a little more polite and less robotic.

The INFP door slam occurs almost immediately, sometimes during the very first interaction. We decide, "Yup, this person can be in my life," or, "Nope, this person will not be in my life." INFJs get all this attention for door slamming, but really, it's because they give these people a chance, then discover they need to actually eject them from their lives and door slam. I think interviews are actually a test of how well you can lie under pressure while looking innocent and enthusiastic. Thats actually a job requirement for many companies. Take orders, don't cause trouble and just accept your value to the company is equal to the printer - the only noise you are required to make is because you're working..

@StraightShooterGaming - Turns out that when you blow most of the modern world to hell except for one country, that country has a huge economic advantage. Especially when all the young men come home with military training.

"A door I can shut and lock..." that is totally me.
And me!
me
I love how the interviewer is acting so calm about the introverts answers
"Can't we just lock them out of the office" LOL 😂
I don’t know what the fuss is about. I think I can handle sending someone an email, to be anonymously sent from the HR corporate email, asking him to vacate his desk immediately. 🤔
.
.
But I think I’ll need about a week to write and rewrite that email so maybe give me a heads up, 30 days prior (just to be sure), before they ask to fire somebody. 😅😂😂
Honestly, every job interview is a game of 'who has the best story' aka 'who is the best liar'. Sometimes I do wonder if they even believe us at all.
"Do you work well under pressure?"
"Not particularly well."
"Ok. Fantastic!"
😂😂😂
I can do it, but I will have a very low opinion of those who force me to do so.
About 2 months ago I answered this question honestly in an interview, and they rejected me on that basis. Oops.
@@wlockhart Part of me thinks you dodged a bullet because I have had jobs with long-term work under pressure, and they got to me.
@@FlamingCockatiel Definitely. I got another job in the end. Working hard is sometimes important, but no one lies on their death bed saying 'I wish I had worked more hours in the corporate rat race'
I would go on to say "if I'm under pressure it's because someone else f*cked up."
"I overcame it by calling in sick that whole week." 😂😂😂 Comedy gold!
To be fair it's either gonna be the smart guy or the introvert if the smart guy is taken. The rest are just there for moral support.
As an introvert I would overcome it by doing it all myself

@@Evija3000 At a employee appreciation day a couple years ago they were handing out service awards and for my factory shift I was the most senior service member with 34 years (on the same job). The plant manager asked me what it took for a man to stay as long as I had on the same job. I replied "approximately 12,000 gallons of beer". I'm well known for being a low social level introvert, but I'm also well known for speaking my mind and being utterly and brutally honest.
I'm also not as adverse to wading into a conflict as a lot of other introverts are even though I do go out of my way to avoid them. If I deem a conflict unavoidable and I GENUINELY know I'm in the right, well, Tom Petty's "I won't Back Down" starts playing like Boss music in the background.

As an ENFP manager I would be intrigued, perhaps to my detriment, at the direct honesty of these responses. I would probably want to evaluate those answers in conversations that ultimately deviate from the original purpose of the interview and lead to me sharing very personal stories. It would be a great time. I would end up having talked 80% of the time.

I knew someone for 3-4 years and was good friends with them, but someone asked her how she would describe me and all she could say was “quiet”. 😭😭
Oh, gods, yes. Folks who have known me for years don't know anything about me in reality. Unfortunately, I know all about them. ✌😺
Lmao. I have friends in my school. I know some of them from the very beginning (12 years) and honestly I don't think anyone of them can tell anything about me.
Avoided group project by calling in sick whole week.
Interviewer: Creative! 🤣🤣
This was hilarious
If only HR managers appreciated honesty over "make believes" just to get the job people eventually mess up or die at.
I've read so many interview guides and wonder why is how they tell us to speak is the superior way. Can't say one thing negative (It's the only job I could find; I have nothing good to say; etc) because supposedly that makes you socially undesirable. Oh, and you have ten measly minutes to make the interviewer like you. But relax and be yourself!
I finally landed the ultimate introvert job! Well, not the ultimate, but my ultimate job, personally. I get paid very well for my area to work from home and do online chat for the unemployment office of my state. No talking on the phone, like my prior jobs, just sit back and type. I'm ecstatic and can't wait for training to begin.
There are jobs like that!?
@@SugarandSarcasm 💀😂😂dream
@@SugarandSarcasm This was a very big rarity and sadly, it might be ending if my state doesn't renew our contract or if we can't find new states to contract with at the end of this year (yes, in one month's time. Even if the contract is renewed, they'll likely be cutting a lot of us as work has been very slow).
Jobs like this only come around once in a century, especially for it to technically fall under customer service, a field notorious for underpaying and being very stressful.
@Christopher Gallardo Jr. Sounds like you're an ambivert, a mix of both an introvert and extrovert :) I would consider myself the same, though sounds like both you and I lean just a little more towards the introverted side :)
I prefer texting as I can think of how I wish to word myself much better than when having to speak directly on the spot on a phone.
Wow this is actually how I am almost completely. This is why we lie on those multiple choice personality quizzes they have you do to get interviews.
Oh gosh, I really am an introvert. I once had a manager tell me that he gave me straight 3s on a performance review because he really couldn't think of anything about me at all. We had known each other for 4 years.
Yup. We needed an extra person in the lab where I worked and hired someone from another lab. He was outgoing and talkative and did the work well. I found out he was being paid more and had a higher title (II vs my I) and so asked for a raise and promotion. A higher up told me he was getting more because he came from another testing lab, while I had come in from QC. Never mind that I had been there for the buyout (he had not), had one month more test lab experience, and was doing sample prep that he was not qualified to do.

If they say they will come to you in a week you are supposed to call them (or write an email) after two weeks and ask how the progress is. They want to see if you actually want the job.
They didn't even bother to send the rejection letter sometimes(个_个). But good luck Patrick! I hope soon you get a job that you can enjoy and love.
@@0815Snickersboy That is actually pretty risky since i have read online, that these processes can take longer and due to the current situation with covid and all, i expected that to be the case. Alright, I have important news. My INTP friend made a brilliant conclusion the other day - INFPs also door slam, but they do it so early on that no one notices. It all makes sense. INTPs are genius.
